im from tucson and i do dare say that its kinda surprising you found these guys. usually you stop seeing them around early august, let alone late september.
Incredible stuff. I study biotechnology and sometimes it feels like you know all about the molecular processes and details of biology yet you see an animal in its natural habitat and have absolutely no idea what it could be. Thank you so much for these videos, nature is amazing and humanity needs more people like you that can appreciate it and share it with others. Cheers
It's cool seeing what else is local to me. Love the wildlife here, though I'm not keen on the fat bullfrogs we get during monsoon season. I should go out at night more
Can you do a “fishing” for tarantulas tutorial video sorta thing on how to lure them out of burrows? I’ve seen you do it in a few of your videos and I’ve wanted to try but 1. I can never really tell which burrows belong to tarantulas and 2. I Never actually see them ( I’ll feel something tug on the grass a little)
Very cool footage as usual, especially impressive for seemingly going solo. I'm in the foothills on the west side of Tucson and the Aphonopelmas here have a coloration intermediate between blonde and bronze.
What luck seeing a ringtail like that. I remember fondly my time in Graham County looking for tarantulas along the backroads. Many good nights and great finds.
i caught a black headed snake in the Choconino NF, it was climbing a pine, handled it for long time, very passive snake, found out later though research it was rear fanged and venomous, lucky for me animals are seem to be calm around me.
Have you noticed a decline in biomass or species diversity in the Tucson area? I first went to Madera Canyon in the early 80's, and it was an insect paradise.
Interesting hearing you talk about mammals. Relatively new to this channel but do you often cover mammals here? All I have seen so far is insects and reptiles.
You found ALL of these animals in ONE night!? Was it over a few minutes or a few hours? And how large of an area of ground? Were all of these critters close together or far apart? This is fascinating!
Idk, I never pick them up by the side. I feel its best to coax them on your hand. If they are in a bad mood, you will know, before they get on your hand.
If someone was going to, say, Merida, Quintana Roo area in October and was hoping to see some tarantulas and other critters would you have any recommendations? I’ve kept tarantulas for a year now but have never seen one in their natural habitat, and am excited to be going somewhere that I have a chance.
I love just how much content is crammed in each of these 10-15 minute videos. Absolutely no wasted time or fluff
The way you handle creatures so delicately is a beautiful thing to watch.
That tapeworm => Hans get ze flammenwerfer

Love your videos! Watching you handle these specimens makes me less squeamish about these incredible creatures. Thank you
Thank you, Paul. :D
Some really beautiful creatures. Thanks for sharing the adventure, sir. o7
Real cool of that ringtail to show off for that long.
All of the creatures you show were really beautiful to see in such great detail. Thank you for capturing them to share with us! :)
The Ringtail cat and Giant Crab Spider are definitely my favorite in this video!

I was bored today thanks for the upload!

I can do that. It may be quite a while before it is published though.
These are very interesting creatures, the ringtail cat was not one that I was aware of. Thank you for sharing your finds.
Not a cat but a cool animal none the less
Agreed.@@MrDdeded

Most nightsnakes seem to be quite small which is pretty crazy, btw another banger yet again

Absolutely phenomenal! Thank you very much.

1:51 i will never have the balls to pick up a creature like that as if it was a dorito chip.
Love the footage thank you

That parasite clip was nasty 😂

That parasite in the dung might be an acanthocephalan
IM NOT GOING TO SHAKE THIS GUYS HANDS 😅
Beautiful video, what camera do you use to capture such sharp closeup videos?
The Desert night snake looks hella similiar to Coronella girondica
Thought we only had Arizona Blondes in Tucson
We have an Olios where I live too ! Not that large sadly
OMG I need a man like you to get rid of all the bugs in my house

Please herping centipede again
I was about to get ready to leave, then seen the post. Click
Those are very tiny snakes! Can they eat a mouse?
Thought you aren't supposed to drop them? Are these more hearty than most other tarantulas?
Stumbled across gender bent nocturnal Snow White but dang if I'm not ecstatic to be here 😅
WHATTTT youre in Tucson??? Please do a meet and greet but only with me 😢
Lots of different species in this vid. Animals are sick.
Man if that aint being abducted by aliens from the perspective of those bugs, I dunno what is. As above, so below.
That snake probably doesn’t want your nasty dirty fingers all over it
The Desert Nightstate is not posionous
correct it's Venomous
if it bites you and you die its venom, if you eat it and you die its poison
That's good to know. Now I can make that desert nightsnake stew
broo the voice over is too low make it 7.0 Db atleast
Animal abuse
Good vid.
