I lived in Arizona in the late 90s. Walking back to our apartment at dusk, without my glasses, I saw a “cute little furry mouse” just at the base of the stairs up to our unit. As I got closer the “mouse” moved and it had way too many legs. Your channel has helped tremendously with my fear of spiders but in 1998 I screamed loud enough to cause people to pop their heads out of windows. The spider was unconcerned. LOL
This is my favorite trantula I can not find one here in Ohio what so ever ever pet stores around here don't carry them and I work to much to go to a show so one day I'll get one they are definitely a lovely spider and one of the first I was dared to hold and I was in love thank you for the share and your knowledge as always much support to you and camera lady
She looks like if you combined Ugg boots with a spider. I'm not sure why that's what I thought of when I saw her but it is. She's clearly a big healthy girl ❤
My Chalcodes is absolutely lovely and I feed her about once every 4-5 weeks. Legs is super easygoing and is a wonderful ambassador tarantula but I haven't handled her but once. She doesn't need to be handled and she's out all the time which is what makes her such a great ambassador!
I lived in Phoenix Arizona between 2009-2010. I visited a friend in Payson AZ. We found a dead male of this species I guess in the dining room behind the curtain. The owner was concerned. Firstly because of “house infestation of deadly spiders”. Secondly when he saw me to be happy with the dead spider as I started to open his legs to examine further. Yeah. We are not the same.
Please recharge the tarantula. 😉 A. chalcodes and A. moderatum are one of my favourites, so beautiful and calm. Love that you treat your little beasties with such care. By the way, your videos are great. Kind regards from Germany.
Camera lady, Have you turned your mic gain up a little? I think it's either feedback or your manual zoom is being picked by the mic and feeding back. Only a little as it's not a constant sound. At first I thought your phone was affecting the signal.
Also had funny audio. Glad it didn't happen the entire video. Love your videos keep up the hard work. Sounds like your falling under the weather. Hope you get better soon.
Hi Dave, Aphonopelma chalcodes is one of my all-time favorites, I have three females and breed them as well. Unfortunately they grow very slowly, but I hope that at some point we will only have offspring and will not have to take spiders from the wild. I love Aphonopelma sp. Nice to see them in a video of yours. Have a nice week!
When I got mine I did not realize they were almost all wild caught. She was in horrible condition and I felt awful. Why is it so difficult to breed them? I would love to give it a try.
Morning from Inverness dave... This is the spider that got me into the hobby. I researched everything about tarantulas and of course, the Arizona blonde. My friends daughter moved countries and left behind her spider, I took it on but after a few months of keeping her and trying to get her to eat she passed away, stress maybe...it was a very sad day, she was massive although I was told she was 2years old....I know now that couldn't be true...I reckon if it wasn't stressed he or she just came to the end of her life. Anyway I love the arizona blonde, I don't have one at the moment, but I have eight various spiders and I love them and the hobby..thanks for this video take care.
Hello Dave and Camera Lady. What a pretty girl! She seems like a very relaxed spider. The Texas brown tarantulas migrate in droves as well. If you come for the Arizona Blondes you should plan a stop in Texas! Lovely enclosure!❤❤
I came across one of those when I was cleaning my mom garage. I moved a big box and the spider came running out. It took off into the dessert. There not only big. But there super fast. It never went into a defensive position. It just ran. It made a nest in a box. But no egg scake.
I love these spiders (especially the Aphonopelma chalcodes) and would love to have one myself. Here in my area they are either sold out or nobody breeds them. That's why I'm always happy to see videos about them. Such a cute, chilling one they have there. She got a very nice new home. I really enjoyed this, thank you for another great video. Best regards from Germany.
Theyre really good beginner spiders, my wife and I handle our female all the time. Shes never shown any aggression or defensive posture towards us or the kids.
I love Chalcodes, mine is awesome! So chill and ends up walking on me while I rehouse lol. Suspecting male but I got as rescue so had no moults yet, got him a year ago
Loved the video Dave and camera lady, the audio was rather noisy though, love the spider too, she’s beautiful. Was lovely to see you both on Saturday too. Xx
Hi Dave and Camera Lady 💙💕🕷️🥰 Hope you’re both doing well. Another rehousing video, My favourite thing 😊 Super cool enclosure setup, just perfect for your beautiful Tarantula. Who, may I say is a stunner!! Love her colour, almost like velvet! Gorgeous blonde carapace. Camera Lady done herself proud with her footage. Brilliant as usual folks! Have a great week 💙💕🕷️🥰xxxx
I noticed what looks like a fly strip hanging in front of the shelf to your left. I assume it's for escaped fruit flies. If you would like an alternative, I will be bold and make a suggestion. Take 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar, 1/4 cup water, and a few drops of dish soap. Put the mixture into a small glass, cover with plastic wrap, and poke several holes in the plastic. It works great for fruit flies. And, FYI, I love watching you caring for all your babies.
Thank you so much for the video! I've had two chalcodes and both hated my plants. I got to watch one prune the live succulent with her fangs. My plastic plants are gym equipment so I chock it up to enrichment. Lol
Not only good looks, but a good spider to let sit on the hand. But if you do, don't let them drop. I never held mine unless there was carpet below incase of a fall and tried to make sure they couldn't drop to far. They can crack like an egg! CSRS (Cracked spiders rarely survive).
They are beautiful almost the perfect pet if they didn’t take 16 years per a molt and go into year long pre-molt but they are so good one of few species I would genuinely consider a hand able tarantula I have two and will probably pick up a few more just because they are the perfect animal for those that think they are scared of spiders great work amazing setup
Lovely video, though I found I couldn’t take my eyes off the very, very large spider sitting outside her tank on the right. Hoping it’s a shed 😅 Though your darling beasties are so well behaved it could have just settled in to enjoy a closer look at the rehousing too 😂
Absolutely brilliant Dave, I think they're a wonderful species of spider 🕷, i think I'll definitely get one, when the opportunity arises, anyway Dave that's another super job by yourself and camera 📷 lady Dave.
a great video to promote an amazing spider PROFF. some great information on the rehouse and for keeping them . some great footage CAMERA LADY. magical video guys, many thanks and take care
It was great to meet u and camera lady in Bournemouth on Sunday got me a OBT, pumpkin patch, versicolor from u the show was a really good one got my self a pic with u too 😁
I appreciated this video. It just got my first tarantula today and I chose this one. I’m excited to get to know it. It’s young and I don’t the sex yet. Thank you again!
Wonderful channel you both have, enjoyable and informative. It has been 20 years since I was in the hobby, so it is amazing to see the variety of species available now. Haha, I love the minimalist electronic soundtrack to this video, too.😂
They can have quite a range of coloring !! 🤎💛🤍🧡 mine gos in & out of her hid daily. All around great spider. I’ve had my girl for 2 years & she has never fasted. Really good ester !! That’s not normative for what I have read 😊😳😊
Can you tell us a little about the mesh window in the enclosure? I'm guessing the mesh is coarse enough so as not to pose a risk to her feet/fangs. How do you go about determining what type of mesh is okay and what isn't?
I absolutely love my AF she nearly always climbs out of her enclosure when I’m doing maintenance and is handled as such, definitely overlooked in the hobby but I just find them a stunning looking species along with my juvenile A hentzi another overlooked species, great video guys 👏🫶
Hello I have notice out I the wild California desert the tarantula go's underground in November and don't come out until June the female I have been video tapping for over three years Dave

Nice to see so, carm spider just going around 🕷🕷🕷😊
I was like where is the beeping sound coming from inside my house 😂
Same it sounds like a dremel
She looks like if you combined Ugg boots with a spider. I'm not sure why that's what I thought of when I saw her but it is. She's clearly a big healthy girl ❤
The teddy bear of the hobby

❤️❤️❤️❤️👍
The spider was making strange beeping noises throughout the video.
😂 She needs her batteries charged!😂
Yes! I kept looking all round the house for where the noise was coming from! Flippin' tricksy spiders! 😅
@@jacquelinedurban1461 😄🎊
I thought that was in my apartment.
Some kind of feedback... Dave should check his 'equipment' 🤣
Mine are mini bulldozers, rearranging their enclosures and filling their water dishes regularly.
Yay! I live in Arizona. I do not have any spiders at the moment, I keep ant colonies right now. lol I have been told that this species grow so slowly.
She's deffo a stunner Dave n is your mike on the blink quite a bit of buzzin .

Lovely spider! She looks all coffee-cream-cuddly!
Had the pleasure of being gifted an Aphonopelma iodius from @A8converterman 💜 great vid Dave, hugs to Camera Lady 💜
My desert blonde didn't eat for nearly 3 years, crazy stuff!
Then she's not a burden on your food budget!😂🎉
@@johanneabelsen1644 Definitely not haha I was just worried if anything 😂
I love your videos. Thanks for showing this pretty girl
Odd audio sounds. Perhaps a reupload. It's quite distracting with all the electronic sounds.
I was thinking that as well
@@DanBid100 yep
yep
We will look into it 🙏

Hello great video information and rehousing I have been watching a tarantula out in the wild for over three years it had babies last year Dave

Beautiful Tarantula. I've been wanting 1 or a couple of these for years but they're hard to find in my area.

Lovely species, mines less than 1cm, looking forward to it putting some size on.
I know its classed as a beginner species but it is my absolute favourite, such a stunning colour and a great display T 😊
Theyre really good beginner spiders, my wife and I handle our female all the time. Shes never shown any aggression or defensive posture towards us or the kids.
It is an absolute delight hearing the latin names from your mouth! Cheers Dave. Thanks a lot man

I don't keep spiders (yet), but I would like to start with one of these. They look lovely. Thanks for the Vid Dave and Camera Lady.

Yo I knew homie was down with the hood lol
Great video do you think you will do one on A. Moderatum as there is not too much information available
Care is pretty much the same for both my friend 👍
