    I thought these shoes were built for hard pack trails but you seemed to feel it was better on the softer stuff?

      Yeah mate! I don’t know how people use these on hard trails.. for me there’s not enough cushioning at all.. especially for distances above 30 miles… this is the shoe that Jack Scott won the 268 mile spine race in so maybe I’m just abit of a wuss 🤣

    Are you familiar with Hoka speedgoat 5? If so how do they compare to these? The speedgoat have really good grip too and good cushion.

      Thanks for the comment mate ❤️ The only Hoka’s I’ve tried are the Machs, I was super impressed with the comfort and responsiveness.. but within 3 months they fell apart… so I haven’t bought any since. I’ve heard/seen lots of reports to do with hoka durability… but I’d love to try out more of their models, especially the speedgoats.. stay tuned!

      @@ActiveIdeas so far so good with mine. The grip is so good that I wore them in the snow and didn’t slip! I have bad knees and the cushion/bounce helps.

    How come you didnt wear the salomon genesis for AOA?

    • @ActiveIdeas
      @ActiveIdeas  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I wore them for the first 40 miles, but my feet got really wet/soaked because of bogs so switched into Nike trails for something dry. Then eventually switched to Inov8 to finish off as I was slipping over and needed more grip than Nike. 🌟 3 weeks ago I did the Sherwood Pikes Back Yard Ultra and ran 100 miles without any shoe changes, kept the Genesis on the whole time :) Hope this helps 🔥

      @@ActiveIdeas nice. thanks for the reply! how's the grip and fit of the Salomons compared to the 270s? did you get the same size in both?

    • @ActiveIdeas
      @ActiveIdeas  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The Salomons I got have a Size up from my true to size (highly recommend you do this if not used to Salomon). Extremely comfortable and I have prefer them to the Inov8 in almost every factor tbh. Inov8 is probably a much better performance shoe but I’m not at that level of fitness and if I was looking for performance I’d choose the Salomon Pulsar 3’s (just released) as I found them more comfortable. I guess the unique factor of the Inov8 is that they’re a cool shoe that can be used both for training and serious racing with a long shelf life
