    I've used polar and Suunto for years. I've actually owned the ignite 3 since launch and I can honestly say that unless you really need specific mapping and the extra bits the V3 and Grit X 2 offer, this is the one that most people should go for. As said it's very light and user friendly. It's very pixel watch like. Everything works well and obviously the ecosystem needs no introduction. I've not had any problems at all with mine and it's definitely a step up from the pace and pace pro just because of the screen. If I had to criticise it, it would be that there's lag, it can be fiddly to connect for the first time, and the real big one is that unless you get it on offer, it's still a little pricey. But it's a rock solid workhorse that does everything as a package well. And the best part is polar flow doesn't require and subscription, and I've yet to see any other vendor offer as many different types of workouts. All the bells n whistles are there, and there's enough smarts to keep you connected. I especially like fitspark. Then there's the polar flow web app which I think is something that really sets it apart. As for the watch, it's a small light package, does everything well, has decent battery life, looks good and has a great screen. This is from a person who's used it as their main watch for a year. Great video, and the ignite 3 is definitely another Finish sleeper that deserves more love then it's credited for.

      Wow! Loved this little assessment mate! Completely agree with all your points really! The Ignite 3 was super fun to use and test over this past year. And it was a definite improvement from the older Grit X 2 in terms of its smoothness. The fact that it’s so small, lightweight but still has a massive screen, good heart rate and good GPS blows my mind. I didn’t really experience any lag issues tbf (maybe because I came from using the Grit X 2 which felt like using a 1960’s calculator) but I did definitely notice the connection issues you talked about. Not the smoothest of experiences when connecting to the app and was a massive pain during set up (especially after it had already been used by my brother and had data on it). I’m also a massive lover of FitSpark.. it will only improve with A.I modelling. This watch definitely deserves a lot more credit for what it is 😍 As it’s over a year old now, hopefully the price comes down on it.. Corr maybe there’s even an Ignite 4 on the horizon with the rate technology is moving at the moment 🙈

    Good review! Wish you talked a bit more about the polar flow app, since youll be interacting with that a lot of you have this watch.

      I won’t lie.. the app is one of the weakest parts of the experience in my opinion 🤣 Probably explains why I didn’t naturally film much of it. I’ll record more app in my grit x 2 pro video 👊🏽

    Great review, very useful. Were you wearing a chest strap while recording and is that why the watch was showing your heart rate while it was resting on the table?

    • @ActiveIdeas
      @ActiveIdeas  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I was not wearing a chest strap to be honest.. a lot of watches do this (measure HR from the table haha) probably due to the limitation that the optical sensor isn’t actually measuring the heart rate.. it’s measuring the reflection of the green light and calculating how long that takes

    Looks like a nice watch! Do you think you’ll be doing a review on the polar grid x 2 pro? I’d like to see how the maps and navigation are.

    • @ActiveIdeas
      @ActiveIdeas  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I emailed polar about 8 weeks ago asking to test it and they said they’d send me a review unit as soon as one is available. I can’t afford to buy the Grit X2 Pro because it’s re-sale value is so low 🤣 Catch-22

    Great review as always 👍🏻. What do you think about the durability of the case and the glass?
    I like the Suunto Race but if the Ignite is more targeted and better tracking your health, it might have the upper hand for me if scuffs and scratches don't appear very often.

    • @ActiveIdeas
      @ActiveIdeas  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Top man! ❤️ The durability is surprisingly good! I think because it’s so thin it’s practically impossible to bash it against anything 🤣 My brother has been using it at work for over 6 months and I tested it heavily as a daily driver for about 6 weeks .. there’s not a mark on the bezel & casing 🔥 The band definitely looks used though, slightly faded 👍🏽
      Yeah, the Suunto race is bullet proof. But if you want to save a few dollars and don’t mind charging more frequently the Polar Ignite 3 is a data-nerd’s dream. The HRV, temperature sensor, FitSpark, Sleep Boost, sleep tracking, accurate steps and calories all gel together quite nicely here. I’ll add.. the ignite 3 has been out for a year so DO NOT buy at full price haha.. there’ll be lots of deals out there ☺️

      @@ActiveIdeas great thank you. I'll check the charging time, it's not something I'm fond of. Also I'll be on the look out to snatch those deals 😉, don't know when the Ignite 4 will be announced 😅.

      I forgot to say about the Polar widgets. It does have 2, but it's not like Suunto or Fitbit. They are very comprehensive. Polar widget wise on Android is basic at best, but a little better on iOS. Definitely not a deal breaker for sure.

    • @ActiveIdeas
      @ActiveIdeas  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yeah, I did feel abit lost on the Polar App tbh.. and I couldn’t work out if it was just super basic or the information was missing. I do like the amount of detail which is easily accessible on the watch though 🔥

    Appreciate you going through all the menu options. I had an Ignite 2, went back to Garmin Vivoactive 5 but its functions do not work properly. I’m finding Garmin watches are becoming very buggy and the features don’t work properly. Think I’m going back to polar…while some of the data is too much…the features just plain work. At the end of the day the features need to work.

    • @ActiveIdeas
      @ActiveIdeas  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I had a very similar experience with Garmin too, lots of features, yes, but also lots of bugs 🤣 Glad I could help mate, this video took ages to make so means the world that it’s actually helped someone out! I definitely recommend the Ignite.. I can’t wait to try out some of Polar’s newer watches too .. I hope they keep pushing forward as a company ❤️

    Is Ignite 3 worth buying in 2024? Or wait for ignite 4?
    I’m going to buy my first smartwatch as I’m using Iphone, is this watch good when connect to Iphone?
    For now I’m more lean into Apple watch (not bother charge every single day) but I’m little afraid in the next 3-4 years the Apple Watch battery might decrease faster
    I find this watch interesting too and the battery also can last up to 5 days?
    Which do you prefer? This or AppleWatch?

    • @ActiveIdeas
      @ActiveIdeas  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      If I had to choice between this and Apple Watch I would get this as it’s a million times better for sports. The Apple Watch heart rate sensor is probably more accurate and the connection to the iPhone is much much better than Polar.
      I would say if you can find this ignite 3 on a deal BUY IT. It’s a fantastic watch and great for first smartwatch experience if you like sports and adventure ❤️

      @@ActiveIdeas To be honest I just want to track my physical being like walking, running, steps, calories burn. I'm not an adventure or really active person. Just want to track my daily life so i don't mind if it's apple watch or sport watch like this
      I saw from other video that this watch has a little bit laggy, is it true?
      And i like a pretty watch face too, does this watch can only show the watch face without the widget? I don't really like the widget

    • @ActiveIdeas
      @ActiveIdeas  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @magnaraihuangdinata615 I don’t think that is true, maybe compared to an Apple Watch it is laggy but I personally found the software to be super responsive 🔥
      You can change the watchface and customise the widgets.
      This watch is perfect for someone with your use case tbh! Can’t get better at tracking physical being.. Polar is king at this. One example if this is body temperature tracking!? Not many other companies offer this 🔥
