Hakim, you could take the base off of the tower fan and put it in your bed so that you can sleep next to it when it's on or even hug it. This works very well as a way of keeping yourself cool when you sleep without a really loud airconditioner.
If you live in a dry, hot climate, try a swamp cooler. They work fine in low humidity environment, not so much if it's humid. Less current draw than an air conditioner ( fan and small pump)....that might be important if your house wiring isn't up to air conditioning.
