I was born in Seattle in 1973, where I grew up. Japanese-American and male. A former Eagle Scout. I went in the summer of 1990, one of the BEST times of my life! Great memories. My Dad took me there. He passed in 2003. I think about the tour of college campuses that we took together, before and after Philmont.
I never had the chance to go when I was in scouts, but went on a trek in 2021 as an adult advisor for my little brother and his crew from my old troop. I had a total blast and it was an unforgettable experience. I liked it so much I plan to go back and work in the infirmary this summer after I graduate.
Went to Philmont with my troop, and the few young men whom I went with were a blast. The millions of memories I had were great, but just last week we lost one of the adults who went with us. He had just finished his battle with cancer. Rest in Piece John, 2 more miles
I went to Philmont in 2021 and went back to work in 22, I can’t recomend getting a job there more, as long as it isn’t dining staff you will never regret that decision. Work for the PTC if you can, you get free unlimited access to the backcountry and are fed and housed every day
Man, I wish I had a better memory, Philmont was one of the greatest experiences of my life. 628-N-01, 2016. Would’ve gone a second time in 2018 if the fire hadn’t canceled my troops plans, followed by a cousin scheduling a wedding on the reschedule date. Still, what a time, I wish I could go back. :/

611-r1 2017 was the greatest experience ive ever had.
810-E1 1969. Went with my dad (scoutmaster) and two older brothers, northern trek. Fondest memories!
623-Oscar 2017. Went with a crew that included my Dad as well as my little brother. Truly one of the best experiences I have ever had.
Originally scheduled for August 2018, we got cancelled because of the fire. I went in the summer of 2019, 601-R2
