- Hello guys I have made a mini Engraving CNC machine using
28BYJ-48 Stepper motor, ardunio UNO board, GRBL CNC shield & rotary tool as spindle.
This is prototype kind of project I want to see can I make mini engraving machine without investing much, so at last I found that the machine is not as accurate as i thought it would be because of Using timing belt Both X & Y axis skip some steps other than this all is perfectly fine in next project i will use lead screw instead of timing belt

nice job. a few suggestions for you:
accuracy is low because of loose timing belts and weak stepper motors.
use a spring to stop backleash between two nuts on Z axis.
use same const. on X-Y axis.
have bigger stepper motors.
use a smaller bit on rotary tool with a softer wood, maybe better to start with some foam.

5mm pulleys on stepper motors ? can you give me the amazon link ? i already saw them but i'm not convinced because they look too deep, anyway they works (al least in your cnc :) )

screws falling out, bit wobbling, good idea but not your finest work, I think this would have been better suited for laser engraving, no vibration and less torque for the stepper motors to deal with. Clearly you have learned from past mistakes, your more recent projects have been awesome :)

great effort. everything is perfect seems perfect but why is not giving you a straight lines
its because timing belt they are not so perfect in tension
Bravo but these motors are slow and not very fast or powerful.i would use nema23 ones for this

That machine its good but you need use other drill and try not use the flex tool to improve more prefection

Big step missing here. Those motors will not work with those drivers as the motors are unipolar. They need to be modified. OR use ULN2003 drivers and modified grbl

Starting with a washer and a locking nut flying, i would have stopped and checked it

Belt needs to be paralel otherwise it will get loose at center and tight in the extremity.
Your screws are loose.
Those motors are very weak for this purpose.
Your cutting tool is not well centered.
