There’s a small detail in the end battle cutscenes I noticed that I thought was cool, in the cutscene for Sunny disappearing, it takes about 1 second for him to drop the violin, but in the cutscene for Omori disappearing, it takes about 3 seconds for him to drop the knife, like despite everything that’s happened, Omori’s still trying not to succumb.
Omori didn't think about anything. Omori isn't a character. It's a visual manifestation of Sunny's very real and very overactive psychological impulse to avoid his PTSD triggers, and that impulse is being somewhat controlled now with great effort. It's not gone. It's strength is the reason it took it so long to drop the knife. It can never be fully cowed without a ton of therapy. But this good ending is Sunny committing to start on that path.

Most of the time I dont know if death is a easier way to go or life and sometimes its hard to give up on the fact that i cant really die to escape the pain I’ve been through because sometimes when you get severely depressed, the thought of “ending it” is more of a good option because of how hard it is to “keep going” dont give up” it’ll get better soon” when in reality it gets worse, omori probably might’ve started out as a alter ego for sunny to escape his guilt but it slowly becomes a reason for him to just die instead. I've said it once and i'll say it again. I only included the ANIMATED cutscenes, and these are all of them. If you say "you missed this one", that cutscene is just a few frames that don't move, and wasn't with those cutscenes in the game's files. edit: grammar
God the ambience and backing tracks of this game are phenomenal. I don't know how these things work with indie games, but I personally think it should win some sort of award for general music/art direction. The way the two would be paired was incredible throughout the game.

hi, i suffer from DID aka dissociative identity disorder and i would like to give my opinion on omori... i think he's part of a system and that the characters we see in the dream world are his alters/split identities. - sunny is the host, obviously - omori is a persecutor (a "protector in training" who harms the body, but doesn't necessarily mean to) - mari is an internal self helper, meaning she takes care of the headspace and the people in it without ever going out (she's confined to the picnic) - basil is a trauma holder, the one who stores the memories of the trauma and is stuck to the time it happened, the one who remembers so sunny doesnt have to - aubrey is a physical protector, meaning she protects sunny from the external world physically and aggressively - kel is an emotional protector/social alter whose task is to ease anxiety and keep sunny in a good mood - hero is a caretaker who looks after all the alters and is an healing presence to them this is purely a persona hc that assumes sunny experienced trauma before the age of 7/9 circa, and these are only the alters and subsystems that split off to deal with the trauma that's talked in the game :)
Something I would like to note here is that SUNNY does not canonically have DID. Your headcanon is fine and understandale, but I just want to say this to prevent confusion with the canon: Some people believe that SUNNY does canonically have DID and that OMORI is a split personality. OMORI is more of a human symbol than a split personality. He is the manifestation of SUNNY's guilt and desire to hide from the trauma that he has suffered. He is SUNNY's coping mechanism. OMORI is also an avatar for SUNNY; he is everything SUNNY wishes he could be: a good leader, an adventurer travelling through fantastical lands. Basically OMORI would be the username and avatar that SUNNY would use if he were to start playing video games. Again, this isn't to say anything about your headcanon.
