Something, alone is one of the most underrated cutscenes. He's just gone back to sleep after seeing the real world and suddenly, the overly cheery nature of his mindspace starts to make a painful sort of sense. It's my favorite part of the game because this is the moment you realize he's trying to run away. Run away from Basil, run away from Aubrey's resentment, run away from Mari's death, run away from his mistakes, run away from reality. And it's all so happy and colorful and... just not real. I love it. This is the part where I realized I was going to love this game's story.

In that case, it feels oddly comforting and horrifying, and combined with Something's desire to make Sunny remember what he did, Omori wants the exact opposite, he wants Sunny to forget and live in ignorant bliss. This is what made me think "Okay slightly creepy but still fun" to "Holy shit this is fucking scary".
i wonder if this video could explain the lore of omori its obviously missing some key parts, but you've got all the key moments, like basil comforting sunny, sunny shutting himself in, creating omori, something leaking into headspace, sunny confronting omori, sunny rediscovering the truth, and waking up in the hospital
the final duet cutscene reminds me of the Asriel cutscene in undertale. You are finally told the truth, it wasn't you who fell into the underground. It was Chara. Mari wasn't a friend, she was your sister. It brings that moment of happiness to the player. "Thats the truth?". "It was like that all along?". This is why OMORI is such a good game. It brings every good rpg's storytelling and makes it better. the puzzles and endless rich story of one shot. then theres the plot twist and different endings to simulate the game never really ENDING that comes from undertale, and its own spice of relatable psychological horror. The game is a masterpiece, and no one can change my mind.

I wanna say, without going into undue detail- that this game changed my life, helped me start to wrestle with my repressed memories that I had forced myself to forget. To start trying to overcome them and heal. So I always think about this game and everything in it. I don't know if I will ever play it again (probably one day when I am in a better head space and emotionally sound), but it is still very personal and close to my heart.
