Growing up in Ohio I had their records and just loved them. When I moved to Boston in 1975 it was a great thrill to actually meet them and even play with them a bit..... Great band, great people.
Joe was a modest guy, as well as being a superlative picker and singer. He always had good bands. I picked with him a time or two at parties. He was complimentary about my guitar playing, which made me feel great.
brings back a lot of memories!! Joe Val, Don Stover , Fred Pike, and all the rest of the guy's would show up in Harmony Me. and have a field day. Used to see Joe at the First Encounter Coffee House down on the Cape!!!
