Saw this lineup in Wisconsin several years ago. Barry and Jamie hit some high notes that shook some fillings loose. Great show, great band, great song!
At the 1:06 mark in the song, Dale plays a melodic lick and I will bet my paycheck that Doyle says to him..."play it straight boy"!!!! You can tell by Dale's expression.
Julie Anne what are you doing Making plans on leaving me Have I made your life unhappy Is this how its gotta be Will you be here in the morning When the rooster starts to crow Will my tears be uncalled for Julie Anne I've got to know Dress yourself in silk and satin Put some ribbons in your hair But don't say you're gonna leave me It's more than I can bear Go and have your night of dancing If you like those country songs But when all the fun is over Julie Anne Come on home Julie Anne you know I love you I can't live my life alone Is there some way I can please you Tell me what will keep you home I've got no gold and silver Got no diamonds for your hand All I have is this love to give you Oh I need you Julie Anne Dress yourself in silk and satin Put some ribbons in your hair But don't say you're gonna leave me It's more than I can bear Go and have your night of dancing If you like those country songs But when all the fun is over Julie Anne Come on home Dress yourself in silk and satin Put some ribbons in your hair But don't say you're gonna leave me It's more than I can bear Go and have your night of dancing If you like those country songs But when all the fun is over Julie Anne Come on home
You had a video posted of hard game of love from this same set before right? That was the BEST take of that song ever done. Where can I find that video again???
I dont think Doyle would be too upset by Dale's melodic lick, it fit the phrase in the song perfectly giving it a bit extra kick... It wasnt some left field 4 to 6 measure ascending / descending scale deal that Doyle would have frowned on... Personally I was taken by his backup at 0:28, nice suspense builder!
@musicianforjesus Actually, I read Dale had a warrant for domestic assault and the cops came arrested Dale during a show. That was Jan. 2010. I don't know anything else about the situation, though.
A beautiful song written by the late Pete Goble. I miss you Dad.
One of my favorites.
Great band Doyle has always been great
My all-time favorite song by Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver! Love me some Juliann!
My dad named my little sister Julie Ann because of this song!! ❤
We named our daughter after this song!
I did the same with my youngest sister.
In fact I named all three of my sisters.
Linda Jane
Rebecca Jean

I just realized that the guy on the right is Jamie Dailey of "Dailey and Vincent", thanks for pointing that out.
Barry Scott and Jamie Dailey, two of the best Quicksilver Alumni, and oh yeah, lets not forget about Russell Moore!
Barry Scott bass singer
This is a wonderful group. Great vocals!
The best! Do you have the hard game of love ? This concert is the best version !
Dale Perry on his Hatfield banjo laying it out good.
Dale Perry is a great banjo player and great bass singer......glad to see him back with Doyle !!!!

Very Cool !!
that's the best team he ever had wow!
I would have bet on Paul Williams and JD Crowe...Doyle could smile a little more...must be tired.
Julie Anne what are you doing
Making plans on leaving me
Have I made your life unhappy
Is this how its gotta be
Will you be here in the morning
When the rooster starts to crow
Will my tears be uncalled for Julie Anne
I've got to know
Dress yourself in silk and satin
Put some ribbons in your hair
But don't say you're gonna leave me
It's more than I can bear
Go and have your night of dancing
If you like those country songs
But when all the fun is over Julie Anne
Come on home
Julie Anne you know I love you
I can't live my life alone
Is there some way I can please you
Tell me what will keep you home
I've got no gold and silver
Got no diamonds for your hand
All I have is this love to give you
Oh I need you Julie Anne
Dress yourself in silk and satin
Put some ribbons in your hair
But don't say you're gonna leave me
It's more than I can bear
Go and have your night of dancing
If you like those country songs
But when all the fun is over Julie Anne
Come on home
Dress yourself in silk and satin
Put some ribbons in your hair
But don't say you're gonna leave me
It's more than I can bear
Go and have your night of dancing
If you like those country songs
But when all the fun is over Julie Anne
Come on home
Good stuff. Dale's a great picker, but IMHO, nobody picks it like Rock 'Em Sock 'Em TERRY BAUCOM! Best banjo player that ever played with Doyle.
Pretty good pikin Dale Perry😊
Love this song. Anyone know where can I purchase and download?

MERCY. SON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@TheBibleWitness Yeah I read that as well
I actually like the lick he hit there. It didn't interfere with the vocals or anything.
Love Brian Scott ❤
Barry Scott

What's the guys name singing this
Who’s singing lead on this? Anyone know? Thanks
Barry Scott
Can it be any better ?
Was a great group and Dale's lick wasnt a whole lot different from the fiddle lick at 2:13. I liked this group as much as any he's had.
doyle lawson how great tho art
Tomas, It doesn't any better than this.
@Rev1981 Doyle fired him he isn't with anyone as far as I know now
@cobraman428 Hes gone again
:-)
you should not spread gossip like that on a web site...by your user names you should know better...no disrespect intended.
@musicianforjesus Its a real shame, isn't it? I hate seeing talented people screw up their lives. That is, of course, if he was guilty.
