Hey bud I'm the bloke that ran out of fuel at Bonnie Doon, again, cheers for the offer to help I ended up walking back to the pits and grabbed a mates jerry can and finished the race 👍

Hey Clint! I lost a bit of sleep knowing you'd been left out there! If my brain was working a bit better I'm sure we could have worked out a way to transfer some fuel. Hope you had a good ride - it was definitely interesting with the weather. See you again soon!

What about winter (40f-50f) ? Are they warm enough for cold temperatures (with base layer trousers)?

Howdy! In my region we have a fair portion of winter around those temperatures (5-10 Celsius). As these pants have plenty of adjustment in them you can snug the cuff up as well as the legs and waistline to stop air drafting in. Depending on the sort of riding you are doing, if you were going to be rising extended highway sections you "may" need a base layer underneath. During the testing time we had, it was only around 50F/12C and I was not wearing a base layer, even while on the exposed coastline and some of the 100kmh transit roads. Thanks for tuning in!

Do the pants fit true to size, 33" waist, wondering if 32 or 34.

There is a HEAP of adjustment in the waist of these pants. I'm a size 32 and found that I can still adjust everything on the size 34 pants so that they fit comfortably without being a nuisance. I've got plenty of room for my knee braces with these too, which was once of my main considerations. As far as being a "true" fit, from my limited experience I think the sizes are very close, but in reality they might be a bit larger than the advertised size (I suppose you could say it's more of a US fit than a EU fit).
Best thing you can do is to go and try some on though!

All the Klim gear is top notch, $$$$, but you get what you pay for.

Yes, after wearing these pants I went and looked at some other Klim gear and agree with you there Robbo - expensive but justified in the quality you get. It seems that in a lot of cases these days when we pay a premium for known brands that we are counting on getting a quality product, and rightly so! However this is unfortunately not the case in my experience, with the price premium for big brands not really coming through in fitment and longevity. I might have to start saving some pennies to get some Klim gear... :)
