- This session I decided to head out to the crystal clear creek / stream to catch some beautiful wild brown trout. It was none stop action catching soo many fish I didn't need to even put them all in the video. These fish are super hard fighting and put up an awesome scrap on the super ultralight setup. It was even better that I got to catch soo many fish using the new Berkleys sick braid as well. Hope you Enjoy!

Small tip. Start to use single hooks on wobblers and spinners when fishing for trout. In Switzerland, this is a rule in many rivers. It protects the fish. No need to fish treble hooks if you intend to release all the fish. Cheers :)
I agree, I love Fishing and I love the Fish. And I love that our ansestors knew the ansestors of these brown trout, and eating them kept them alive. I love to harvest some of these beauties sometimes and savour them. But with this many of us in the world its alot for the river to take, so single barbless ✊ if you get them you get them. Nice filming Chris. Love wild trout fishing myself. Got off the mark on a small west yorkshire beck a couple of weeks back. 10 inch brownie on worm and float. Good stuff.
I was allways going for the big pikes with a heavy set up and when i saw this vid i go to fish ultra light and what a joy i had Chris, now I’m going more fishing on u.l and i love it!!

Brilliant fish them sone quality size’s, I like the line combo , it’s about time they started doing that , be good to start seeing that being introduced in general course fishing too main line hook length,that type or thing just helps getting the correct set up , need a bit of work in the Scottish accent, but again brilliant fishing excellent show ❤️

Beautiful fish. So lucky, we don't really have them here in the Netherlands, somewhat in the east and south-east. Little creeks. But thats a 3 hour drive lol

Should try ultra light dry fly upstream fishing for brownies. Best way ever to catch them.

*EDIT* If any fine fellows would like to give some advice on anything trout fishing related please do, rods, reels, rigs, lures etc. All will be valuable
You can fish for trout and salmon during river close season man, otherwise it would be pointless trout season starting in March at the same time river close season kicks in, you can only fish with certain bait depending on your area however, check the gov website for your local bylaws.

please please please, use barbless singles over trebles. trout have very delicate mouths and dont handle barbs and treble hooks well.
@@jakepavlo91 Thanks I didn't know that. The water near me is SSSI so assumed that meant any and all fishing isn't allowed from 15th March to 15th June. Will do some more research though, thank you.
@@cloud_0_ Yes mate, close season is for coarse fish, trout are game fish. But like I say you can only use certain baits in certain areas.

Some great fish there. Just getting back into fishing again, funnily enough it's due to one if your videos showing up in feed recently. After watching some of your videos I just had to get my license and dust off my light lure rod Had a couple of 1 hour sessions before work and banked on both, bit rusty I think. He'd a bit more time on Sunday and had my first fish, nice little perch on a small jig. Back out on the hunt tomorrow morning Think I have the bug again. Thanks.
Good luck matey! If you can drag yourself out of bed early enough then the crack of dawn is a great time to lure fish this time of year. Especially for perch
Dude, awesome video! I am thinking of buying this rod for micro jigging for trout. My only worry is that it is too soft for faster currents and I may need faster action for better sensitivity. What is your advice?
You're probably right buddy if its fairly fast paced you'll probably want a 1-7gram or something. Still get a super fight out of them

cam you really catch bigger fish with that kind of rod? I only fish one stretch of river so would be way more fun with perch and roach but nice to know it could handle a pike or carp
Yea I've had pike to about 6lb on it.

All depends on the local bylaws in your area. Most council areas stand by the close season for course fishing 🎣 but also the trout season is open during that closed season. Never heard of fly only on the river system.
So if a perch takes your lure your fishing illegally then !

Question, serious one. River Tees. If I went with lure/spinner would I be breaking the law during closed season. I don't know where brown trout are, have valid license?
Providing you are targeting trout using lures like spinners, flies, etc. Then no you shouldn't be breaking the law. Trout live in almost all rivers and you can never guarantee not to catch something you shouldn't, but at the same time you can't control if something other than trout takes the lure

I know some are completely against fishing at all during close season but fish spawn year round, seen roach spawning in August . Fish breed when they breed. Have kept both tropical and cold water aquariums.
