Honestly, this was Nami’s greatest moment. She’s had some great ones but this one beats them by far. A top officer of a yonko and she not only defends and protects Tama but threatens Ulti, something that otherwise she would have been terrified to do. Add to that Big Mom was there so she could have let her handle it.. Loved it!
I honestly really wished for a twist here, where both Big Mom and Nami would just team up against Ulti. Now Big Mom interrupts the fight between Nami and Ulti, just knocks her out and then continues going after the strawhats. I really wished they would simply have teamed up for Tama's sake, so that Usopp and Nami could later thank her and praise her a bit(distracting her), and then take a run for it. It would just show a bit more of Big Mom's humanity and caring side that we've seen extremely little off, and it could have meant that Big Mom would have teamed up with all strawhats. I know Wano was already cramped as it was, and that some corners had to be cut, but honestly, how cool would it have been if Big Mom was more of an anti-hero during Wano?
And that was just for the sake of comedy Relief This time her anger is real Her fury is justified . And more importantly, she’s not using anyone as a meat shield
bro she mastered Haki like pre time skip. it just came to her naturally from all the stupidity and perverts she had to smackdown with 24/7. Ulti has no chance.
For real, up against impossible odds (fighting Ulti with Big Mom there), having no real plan for how to win, but pulling out the W anyway - very Luffy like.
One thing I love about act 3 and Wano overall is how MAD everyone is. The crew, kid and killer, everyone along with the raid is just taking this so personal. they all really have something to fight for and really know the consequences of losing the war. I haven't felt this way since Enies lobby

I really love this scene. Both Big Mom and Nami are angry and it’s satisfying to watch them team on the lizard. I also love how Nami doesn’t run away or hesitate to save/avenge Otama. I remember back in Punk Hazard where she hesitated to save the children. Personally, I think this is one of Nami’s best moments.
I think the only thing holding Usopp and Nami back is a lack of self awareness. They’re MUCH stronger than they think they are. They’ve been part of the weak trio for so long that it takes either moments of complete despair or unbridled rage to knock them out of the “hurry and scurry” habit they’ve built. Sniper Lord Usopp and Weather Goddess Nami are gonna show themselves in this arc. I can feel it.
They have been in the shadow of the others for too long, we know God Usopp one of the best snipers in the world and has observation haki (but he doesnt know yet) and Nami has a Will so powerfull that can control the fragments of big moms soul... so theyre not week, just unaware of the true potencial they have
I think it is also more like they are a glass cannon, like for usopp at least every time he has had a close quarters fight he has been badly hurt, not everyone can be as insane as zoro or luffy
Gotta say. Ulti looking at Big Mom with murderous intent despite the fact she took down her brother with one hit and is towering over her has gotta be the ballsiest thing anybody under the rank of Yonko commander has done since Jinbei broke off his alliance with her in public.
Nami came all the way from 'Luffy... Help me' to this. From being powerless to save the people she loved from a tyrant to facing down far stronger tyrants' commanders without fear to protect the helpless herself. She's fallen out of focus recently but I'm so glad Wano gave everyone a chance to shine again. What a great character arc
Nami is ridiculously smart and very dangerous when she wants to be. Big Mom might be cruel but she cares for children in her own way. The enemy of my enemy is my friend for this battle.

Is actually really cool how Nami's temper is consistent in comedy, story and action. Remember her reaction to Sanji beating up Luffy at the start of Whole Cake? Wew.
Probably the most underrated member of the Straw Hats. I honestly believe that she has a D. in her real name since Nami was a name given to her by Bellemere. And with her uncanny ability to predict the weather she may have awakened Observation Haki way before Luffy ever awakened any form of Haki.

This is actually my favorite Nami moment can't wait for chapter 1016 to be adapted because it really proved that Nami was actually helpful to the crew in the Wano arc

It's actually beyond rare seeing nami with such rage and anger in her eyes ,a complete one eighty from the normal nami.. Honestly anyone with the right mind would have Snapped at someone hitting an innocent child..
Nami is usually pretty angry most of the time. But that's around whenever the Straw Hat Crew do something stupid (almost likes she's a mother trying to smack some discipline into her children or something), and that's usually out of comedic effect. But when she starts giving faces like 1:11 and 1:22 out of hitting a child, you know sh*ts going to get real.
That and Luffy's I don't care about your backstory. You hurt my friend so I'll beat you up. Really highlights how different Oda is in treating characters

But when she saw Tama getting hurt, she faced her fears and stood up against Ulti who was far more stronger than her. Her passion for helping children, due to her being abused as a child, overcame her fear of death. That's not something everyone can do which shows character development, especially when Nami is the type to avoid fights

In other shows she would be considered a side character simply because she wasn't the main protagonist. With shows like DBZ (as much of a superfan as I am), you're literally just waiting for the part of the arc where Goku shows up. The other characters are great, but no matter how involved they are with the main storyline, it's always about Goku.
My favorite part of this scene is big mom going off the rails. Mainly because up until that point it kind of seemed like she just did what she wanted. But nope she has a code and it's don't mess with the kids. Be them mine or anyone else's!
The only way she’d start at redemption is if she discovered what really happened to her fellow orphans and Mother Carmel and realized the error of her cruelty toward her family and ex husbands.
I wouldn't be surprised if Oda's gag of her being able to hurt Luffy being COC wounds up becoming true later on, lol. She does have the might, what she lacks is a reason to put her fear away- except for situations like this. Where children get involved. Usopp could learn a thing or two.

I know this is about Nami, her character development and how Tama awaked Nami's rage which made her stand up against a flying six captain. Still. Ulti took that thunder slap tobtge face, even threatened Big Mom and still put up a serious fight. The gap between a captain and a Straw Hat (except for the monster trio and Jinbei) is still huge. That's what I love about Oda. The power scaling isn't too much over the top and the brawls of the less powerful Straw Hats are still interesting thanks to that
As much as the Strawhats have their quirks, there are lines that shouldn't be crossed in front of them. Even for the people considered the "weakest" on the crew.
I always thought this was stupid with Nami being like "Oh no, you monster. How could you hurt this poor child?!" when Tama was one of the most valueable assets of the raid converting like half of the enemy forces to their side with her powers. Of course they would want to take her out.

I always thought this was stupid with Nami being like "Oh no, you monster. How could you hurt this poor child?!" when Tama was one of the most valueable assets of the raid converting like half of the enemy forces to their side with her powers. Of course they would want to take her out.
