Using air to get the brake pistons out can get pretty violent so what I do is set up everything on the bench and pump the brake lever and add fluid as needed until the pistons pop out. It's a little messy but if you keep the calliper in a bowl or something it's not too bad.

Muriatic acid is king for stripping plating. I have been using it for a long time. I use it to strip brand new bolts as well that i want to add yellow or black chromate too. My first ride on a big bike was a Yamaha 450. Never rode anything with that kind of power on two wheels. I whiskey throttled it with everyone watching me on someone else’s brand new bike 😂 I was a quad guy back then
BEST MOTO STORY: I was racing VMX on a '74 Can-Am 250 MX-1, the AHRMA National was in town and I "finally" got the entire family out to the track. My first moto was so-so and complete redemption was on my mind for moto 2. I quickly picked up my bike and my pride and came back to 3rd place (4th place overall). All things considered, maybe I should flip the bike off the gate more often??
I could really use the graphics as I am rebuilding a 1991 RM250. The craziest moto I had was actually the very first time I raced. There was a big crash at the first corner after the start. I ran a guy over and I mean I nailed him. I don’t need the graphics but one of my more memorable moto stories was after I bought my bike brand new in 04’. I had broke it in at my mom and step fathers house. Days later I went trail riding with some friends in the morning. I also had a ride planned on that same trail in the afternoon with my FIL and my coworker. On the way back you ride a “deer trail” which is 40’ or so above a river. So i had been through there 3 times previously that day. Well I can’t say exactly what went wrong but I misplaced my front tire and next thing you know my bike is halfway off the trail facing the river. The only reason it didn’t go down was because the handlebar caught on the trail edge. We got it back up on the trail. I think I shit my pants (not literally). All was well.
Bro, so sketchy! I've gone off some cliffs and also washed my wife go off a cliff which was probably the worst thing I've ever witnessed. @@mxrevival The real question is did he give you your swag? Double R Garry is a great addition. Hes one funny MFer with subtle one liners. His bike is alright too.
So about 15 years ago never rode a 450 before. My buddies dad buys a bran new crf450r and offers me to take it for a rip around his track. hell yeah I said jump on it and he says ride the tank she power wheelies super easy. 140 lb ty goes ok takes a few trips around np right 3rd lap comes I hit his one corner I dump her into second hold it wide bang third see his sick double and hang on. Next is a blurr for me they said I Superman I let go in mid air hit the ground bike rolls and rolls. They come running pick me up pick up the bike. His dad goes ehh just the fender is crack are you alright ??? Yeah I’m cool I’m so sorry he’s goes fuck your dad would kill me lol now get on and go again. Haha
Keen to see this finished off! It's good motivation for my 80 PE250 build

I feel like I know that heart sinking feeling you may have had.
Pretty cool you got to meet double R Gary at the races the other day as well. Hope you're doing great and thanks for watching!
@@mxrevival The real question is did he give you your swag?
Double R Garry is a great addition. Hes one funny MFer with subtle one liners. His bike is alright too.
My SuperBowl Binge was dirtbike rebuilds🤣😀
Only way to do it! I didn’t even realize it was the Super Bowl. That’s how you know we are hard-core dirt bikers. 😂
@@mxrevival you know it👍
