On the low side just shift straight, just split the top side like a 13 speed. No one taught me either, the old guys at a truck yard I worked at let me move trailers when I was a teenager still in high school. I actually just watched them & figured it out when I would move trailers. The shifter should be like shoulder height & it will be comfortable. Take ya time, it takes practice
He don’t care what you say man. Look at the guys truck he’s all about being a big boy driver. Bandana on his shifter lol. Jeez man not everything is about having a show truck
I’ve had this truck for 2 years now . I’ve spent over 30k on just the performance side of the truck . If I want the truck to look good for my liking there is nothing wrong with that . I enjoy my truck so I’ll continue to put money into my truck.
Rewatch the video . I barely shifted the low side . And I made the video for people to see what the difference was from my original 10 speed to the 18 speed . I ordered a shifter before and it said 42 inch when I got it . It was way much shorter than the one I have now . So when I bought another 42 in I thought I was getting the same thing . 😂😂 I’m swapping them soon as I get home .
@truckingwithbennii I saw your shift pattern bruh, I'm not a super trucker but have driven twin sticks, 24 & 15 speeds, 33 years actually driving & many years taught by old timers in the 80's when I was a kid. I've learned a thing or 2. I only had 2 see it 1 time & knew exactly how you were handling it. Not knocking only suggesting. Your doing a good job & I envy the hustle 💪🏾. Old school chicken hauler but wouldn't mind trying the oversized game just 2 see how it works.
@truckingwithbennii my shifter isn't that high but it is tall. It's a twisted wedge shifter I got from 75 chrome shop. It's about shoulder height & I find it rather comfortable, ppl ask all the time how do you shift wit it being so high, lol 🤣🤣🤣
Damn man I been watching you since nov 2021 then by April 2022 I did non cdl hotshot then by 2022 nov got my class a then did reefer for 2 yrs otr for company then 1 month ago got my first truck now doing dryvan for now but trying to do rgn or tanker work . I’m leased to a company for now I’m only 24 bout to turn 25 but been working hard af gotta take care of my wife and my 3 yr old . Shit ain’t easy at all but ima get through it . Thanks for the inspiration thoe !!! This channel has took me along way now …. That I never thought of .
Ay mane that thing sounds so good bruh,I just got my learners,I been watching you for amin now I have learned a lot just by watching you and listening...keep up the good motivation an good video's, hopefully I can run into you on the road.... Washington DC tapping in 💪🏾 be safe Oh and tell pops wuddup
Folks gotta realize when yeen got nobody but yourself and dont know exactly how to get shii done then you do what you can to the best of your knowledge and dont ask for help that will get thrown back at ya later down the line. 🤷🏽♂️ your doing amazing brodie keep pushing.
If you have throttle control you never need to turn them off . I ride with mine on at all times but I only let the Jake brakes talk when I want them to . Watch the full video I spoke on that
Yea man that’s too big and you leaning back I know your arms hurts lol I would go with a 12 inch or maybe a 18 inch that should be more comfortable for you I had both of them no complaints but with that 42 inch it’s like you trying to pass the shifter to God
Is your clutch brake not working? Push the pedal all the way down and then let up about a inch to engage your brake clutch. Shifter should slid right into gear.
Bruh you really needed to reach out to some fans like myself. I probably could have save you some money by pointing you in the right direction hear in Houston.
@truckingwithbennii you could have still bought it for 10k here and spent the other 2k on more accessories. Hell I put in a 13spd, 2050 torque clutch, new fly wheel, cut and balanced drive shaft, and new 3.58 rear ends for 14k.
Shifting an 18 speed is NOTHING like shifting a 10 speed. Totally different gear pattern/box. Now shifting a 13 is like shifting an 18 except you not splitting your lower gears
Bro when you tryna put the truck in gear let out of the clutch some. It'll mesh the gear better than tryna put it in gear with the clutch brake engaged.
There’s a small amount of free play in the throttle pedal that if you stay within while shifting the Jake won’t engage. I find that it’s easier to practice when you’re on higher up gears to get it down, if you mess up then it’s easy to recover but if you’re in the first couple gears then you get snatched like you said
The clutch was not adjusted properly from the get go, the clutch brake is not hitting, hell they mite not even put a clutch brake in have a look and see…
I agree, clutch adjustment needs to be checked! Should be 1/2 inch between throw out bearing and clutch brake on most transmission. Clutch brake could also have gotten grease on it if they accidentally over greased the bearing. And then yeah… if they didn’t put a clutch brake on then that would also be a problem, however they’re like $40 bucks and take like 5-10 min to install usually
He gonna damage that transmission real fast jamming it into gear and guess what 😢 now the warranty is voided $14k out the window because of that shops Negligence.
$14000 and they still ain’t get everything perfect!? Aint no way in FUCK I’m letting that happen. Idk maybe you got something agreed with them or you probably had to hurry up n get back on the road but just watching your hand placement on the shifter that can’t be comfortable 😡
@@truckingwithbennii yea ppl who get the clutch fixed or replaced, etc. 10/10times they always have problems starting off. Why? I do not know. But that guy you took it to seem like he know what he talking about 👍🏾

Appreciate that ! Glad you enjoyed the video . And I’ll do my best to continue motivating
You should move the gear splitter height down to where your red rag is I think that would look better
It definitely would ! I’m getting a new shifter this was just a crazy purchase
Haha dope ass handshake ❤️💪🏾. Yall & pops keep thriving!
The ol 79er coming together.

You already know ! Thanks for the comments ! Yall really keep me motivated
Love your content man can’t wait to get to the US and get me a Peterbilt 379 and do my think as well…
Your a super trucker now the shifter gives it away😂
Lmao man ima change it lol shit is crazy how tall it is
That shifter to tall bring it down some
He said that in the last video and again in this video 😂
Turn the jakes off!!!!!……that plays a role too in shifting up, pretty much a little resistance in getting it in the hole
If you have throttle control you never need to turn them off . I ride with mine on at all times but I only let the Jake brakes talk when I want them to . Watch the full video I spoke on that
Great video! When you first drove your truck with the new transmission did the gears feel a little tight?
That shifter is through the roof you can’t go wrong with a 12 inch though maybe a 18 inch and what size is that
Man this is a 42in but I ordered a 42inch before and it wasn’t this tall

Another Dope Video 💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾

Needs the clutch brake adjusted !
Yeah that’s what we figured ! I’ll have it squared away next time I stop through the house
You try changing the clutch brake yet? Try that so you ain’t always holding the clutch in too long before you take off.
Great riding with Jake's but also not good but you probably know that
We all know . This was done for video purposes man !
Bruh you really needed to reach out to some fans like myself. I probably could have save you some money by pointing you in the right direction hear in Houston.
Maybe I just care if it gets done right 😂 .
Who you recommend I’m in New Orleans

@@MichaelWilliams-mw7xn where yo shop
@@FredTheMANTV gear shop Us59/I 69N
What shop did your transmission work?
Do another video and actually explain what your doing and call out your gears as your going in and down shifting them.
I like that
Clutch brake not adjusted or installed properly

I’ll try again once I’m up and moving but I’m telling you she doesn’t engage
Which shop did the work??
Idk how you change gears with the Jake brake on. My Jake snatches me outta tha chair when I try it lol
lol throttle control man . I’m still practicing

Bro doing to much with that shifter😂😂😂
Man $2000 labor to swap a transmission. My mechanic charges me $800 labor plus he swaps the rear main seal. Oh and does it in about 2 days
The $2000 in labor also included lights / roof repair / and transmission install
Let's goooo 🔥🔥🔥🔥
what truck gps app you got
