You are most welcome! The anchor connects the drop cap with the nearest paragraph rather than a position on the page. If you move the drop cap, it will re-anchor (reattach) to the next nearest paragraph. I'm not aware of a way to fix a drop cap to one spot on the page. However, one workaround is to create a big letter in a text box (instead of using the drop cap feature) and then selecting "Fix Position on Page" from the text box's Layout Options menu.
Thank you for your videos. I wish to clarify, how to eliminate the space in the footnote when we refer the internet sources. The space is not seen with the correction mark, but in reality space exists. How to solve it?
@@erinwrightwriting Yes; I justified the quote at 15 to 35; but all that happened was that when I followed your instructions it moved all my images from the centre of the page to the far left - as 'one' space; so I had to spend the whole day putting all my images back, each one, by hand, back in to the centre; I have gays between words which are very wide and cannt reduce it to one space.
@@erinwrightwriting Here is the texT could you kindly do it for me? It looks ok here, but on my website, the second paragraph has huge gaps between words: “R. B. Interest in figuration is commonplace now. When Kitaj coined his phrase, over ten years ago, it was not. He also realized at the time that the group was united by its seriousness and its determination to blaze new trails, though the individual paths pursued by the artists he had in mind were sure to be dissimilar. The senior member of the group is Francis Bacon (born in 1909), whom many people believe to be the greatest painter alive. The others, whose international reputations have yet to be established, are Lucian Freud (a grandson of Sigmund, born in 1922), Frank Auerbach (born 1931), Leon Kossoff (born 1926), Michael Andrews (born 1928), and R. @@erinwrightwriting Thank you for answering! That's not the case, the words are written like this : " e x am p le" and I've been trying to figure out if there is a way to remove the spaces between the letters, without removing all the spaces from the document.
@@Nadilfilx1 Thank you for the topic suggestion! If you only have one space after your justified sentence, the easiest way to make it smaller is to select it and the reduce the font size (using the font size menu in the Home tab) for only that space. I wish you all the best!
Question, I have a list of multiple numbers , example( 12 ,10,11,30 .... ) and i want to find 12,11, 30 , but it doesn't work , because it isn't written in order 12, 10, 11 ,30 . Do you have a solution to this ? 👍👍👍thank you for your answer. Good day.
@@alexandruionelbogdan960 That is an interesting question. Word should definitely be able to locate nonsequential numbers. Are you using the Find command through the Home tab?

Does not work; I have wider spaces, more that two letters, and cannot remove the big gaps; any tips?
Thanks so so much. Erin. My drop cap keeps moving. Do I use the anchor and if so how do I use the anchor?

Ok. So maybe I can lock the anchor when I position my drop cap. I double clicked and locked the anchor. I will check it later to see the results

Thank you so much for watching! I'm afraid I am unaware of the space you are referring to in the footnote. Can you provide a bit more information?

Hi! The steps in "how to flag extra spacing as you type", does it also work in other languages?
That is a great question! It should work in other languages. Thank you for watching!
I was taught that there should be TWO spaces between sentences. Has that rule changed?
Thank you for watching! Yes, one space is now the standard.
Thanks much Erin
You communicated this beautifully. Thank you!

How do you get rid of larger than dounle spaces? I tried up to 14 spaces, from 3, and it does not get rifd of big gaps
I am sorry to hear that you are having issues with your spacing. By chance, is your text alignment set to Justified?

I have document that has random spaces between letters. I tried a lot of methods but none worked, is there any way to fix this?
Thank you for watching! Is it possible that your text is aligned as Justified? That can cause the appearance of random spaces.
