I just bought this as a 15 yr vet and I can’t even put the marines together! The push fit is waay harder. Instructions were not clear. Kids can’t really use glue? Apart from that it’s good.
I'm going to get to the infernus Marines in a build video soon. I got this and then the ultimate starter and am going kit by kit with the builds. In some cases I found using glue and removing the pegs was the way to go here.
That really is who it's intended for. Like I said they suuuuper dumbed down the ruleset and that's honestly my only gripe. The models are great and there's a few surprises in the bits I discovered as I got to building the Marines.
ive been collecting warhammer since 1984, back then we called it citadel miniatures. The issues with warhammer are that it was way too complex for new players, it needed this, a simple set to get stuck into. Love the review. But you have to remember that GW has to think about production costs etc.
@@SavageBruski true. I do miss the good old days, the rank and file units. Buts this set is ok. I do feel your right, it needed unit cards or another unit to give you a choice on what to use. But i feel its ok. Maybe the large set is better. im yet to check it out
@@Taterniac oddly enough my fiancé bought me the ultimate starter and I did an unboxing video for that too. I'm doing build tutorials on each individual kit for newer players as well.
@@Taterniachere's the ultimate starter unboxing if you wanted to see it. IMO, much better set for the money. th-cam.com/video/CEHLWEJ5J5Q/w-d-xo.htmlsi=O6G815L8x-qs6QlF

My local gaming store gave me this for free after buying the leviathan set, pretty good deal
It's a good kit for a beginner, and I do like the fact that it came with clippers and some paint to get going.
Pretty good price for everything I suppose! It’ll be a nice grab for folks who have nothing to start with

Yeah, I haven't forgotten that there's an overhead to all this. It's a far cry from stuff like the 3rd Ed starter with next to nothing but, yeah.

@@SavageBruski oh excellent, id love to see what you think. the larger set should be better with more choice.

I think so, this is a perfect box for beginners, I like they come with paints.
Yep. It's an all in one box that has hobby supplies beyond just rules and models.
