For this week’s eco swap, I am collaborating with a wonderful brand who I met through my Eco Instagram community: @shonaforbes4991 re-wrap-it.co.uk/, who makes reusable, washable sandwich and bagel wraps in a lovely variety of recycled fabrics.
🥯Cotton on the outside and LDPE lining conforms with EU regulations 2015 174 - which in English is a set of safety requirements for plastic materials and articles intended to come into contact with food that establishes a framework for the setting of ecodesign requirements for sustainable products (read more here: eur-lex.europa.eu/legal-conte...)
🥯It opens out to make a placemat while eating too - which is especially useful for kids or if you are eating at your desk at work and don't want to get crumbs everywhere.
🥯It fits a variety of sandwiches, buns, bagels and even cheese (check out Shona's Instagram / rewrapit for talk-throughs of how to fold for different food products)
🥯The reason why this company is next level...Shona works in collaboration with a Kilmarnock prison: they do a six-week block in Industrial Sewing to make these, and they get a qualification, learn a skill and get paid so that they have an opportunity at a new life, and work when they leave and it's just down the road from where Shona lives so she's supporting her community and keeping it local.
