But Benny, don't forget that the Instacarry Adder has something no other adder can offer aswell: Bitwise Operations. It can't be any simpler to make a ICA OR the inputs. But from the video, I'm pretty sure it's impossible to make this adder OR. I'm also not sure how I would cut the carry of this adder. So in my opinion, the ICA is still the best, because you can make it OR, XOR, AND, NOR, XNOR, NAND with very little additions to the design, which I think is far better than vectorisation. Btw love to see you back. ;)
It's actually still pretty easy to do bitwise operations with this adder, arguably as easy as ICA. The tricks are just a little bit different. For example, both inputs feed to the same wire. That right there is your OR; just add a comparator AND gate that sends it to where the XOR output is, and a slab tower as a control wire. The beauty is doing that will automatically cut carry for you whenever you OR, no extra trickery needed. There's tricks for everything else too, plus a few more things that aren't so easy with ICA's (like bit shifts/bit rotates) and I'll be showing that off when I make an ALU out of this.
Benny, I found your channel after you stopped making videos, so this is my first official comment, yay. Imperative question: how to convert base 2 to base 1, that's the only thing (probably not) that I need to know to finish my first MC computer that I never could complete as I can't make the program counter. I'm just too happy you are back.
Hello, nice to meet you Daniel! I think what you're looking for is a decoder. I recommend the one by properinglish; he has a great design and does a good job explaining it: th-cam.com/video/upskugeEW4o/w-d-xo.html
h-holy shit I'm speechless dude, I can't believe something I designed so many years ago has had such an impact. also THANK GOD someone who knows how to do youtube made a proper tutorial ;^)
Glad you're back. I'm guessing you just finished a bachelor's in computer engineering or something. What are you plans? What's going on with life? Are you gonna make a more organized redstone computer video series? You said yourself that first building a redstone computer series left you with a pretty bad computer without an instruction set. Perhaps show an implementation of your advanced computing series?
Take the carry out of the final bit and repeat it. This is unfortunately the downfall of CCA because it will add a minimum of 2 ticks every 8 bits, and it will also ripple every 8 bits. Instant carry is only an additional 0.5 ticks for the second 8 bits and an additional tick per 8 bits beyond that. I have an idea for Pauk's (from ORE) ICE logic can carry instantly infinitly with no instant repeaters. I've never tested it though.
I mean, it isn't really random for "all intents and purposes" because as you said you can compute the upper bound which means that you can wait on the upper bound as a steady time at all times. Slow? Absolutely. Random? Not when used in a practical manner, in fact only if it is used in an attempt to discover the output at times OTHER than the upper bound.
The good news for CLE is it can still do a few things CCA can't yet. Most notably, in sequential circuits, CLE can still make slightly faster inner loops than CCA in most cases. I know someone has a CLE ALU that can do all the usual features and loop back to inputs in 5 ticks (and I think I hear someone's working on 4, although I haven't seen it yet). Plus, there's a piston-CLE variant called ICE that currently holds the title for fastest adder in minecraft, at 2.5 ticks on both edges. In general though, CCA is the way to go nowadays. Also, I just want to add that I think your adder paradigm is awesome. It's a really creative piece of logic, and it's a lot of fun working with it, even if it no longer dominates in all the areas that it used to.
And they are huge and full of pistons. Most people rather use a 4 tick adder where you don't have to worry about 0 tick delays, 0 tick pulses and sticky pistons loseing their blocks.
3 Years later; Benny still hasn't hit puberty. Great to have you back, Kiddo! :3
I think he has. I think he has a low pitch undertone to his voice.
OMG he's back
BENNYYYY
AYYYYYYY
MAH BOI
Its good to have you back.
You are the best redstone and computing teacher ever!
BENNY!! YES! ARE YOU BACK??!
BOY YOU POSTED AFTER 3 YEARS
You are the best benny
We missed you soooooo much
Benny when you said "Let's say I wanna add 3" I already knew you'd add 5 to it. Some things never change lol
Wow benny! welcome back to youtube!
I had a double take in my notifications. I was not expecting this!
Nice having you back!
Welcome back!
Welcome back finaly
It's crazy that 3 years later there's still redstone innovation to do. I totally thought people would have thought of everything by now.
DUDE 3 YEARS ! WHAT THE HECK 3 SHIT YEARS AFTER!
Yay you're back
wow its so good to hear your voice again Benny, look forward to more redstone.
Your voice is as soft and soothing as ever. I missed you so much :')
IM SO HAPPY!! HES BACK!!
BENNYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY! YOU'RE BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACK!!!!!!!!!!!! WE MISSED YOU!
You are back !!! omg I cant belive it :D
thx to you i got a 8 for my informatics test because you explain binarie SO GOOD!!!!!
Glad to see you back Benny :) Cant wait for more
Welcome back
BENNY YOU'RE BACK!! Great video btw
You _must_ make a video on that CPU you showed
WHAT?! You're back!?? I missed you!!!!

I guess I need to play with it for a bit. :P Looking forward to see your ALU. Don't stop making videos this time. :P
@@bennyscube That's a really crazy trick along with the flood carry thing, turning the adder into an xnor. Saved up a whole bunch of space.
Heyyy you're alive!
*AWESOME!* Glad your back! Will you be continuing making videos?
benny i am really glad to see youre making more videos on adders!!!
I'm so happy your back!
why haven't you made a video in like 3 years???!!!
Benny, I found your channel after you stopped making videos, so this is my first official comment, yay. Hey, maybe a bit of an odd question, but what kind of adder design would you “recommend” for an 30 bit calculator?
He's back!
WELCOME BACK OMG
never thought i'd see the day "Bennyscube has just uploaded a video"
HOLY CRAP HE'S BACK
I'm making a tutorial of one of the computers you built on my new channel (130Bacon,) I gave you full credit!
Thats me. :D
130Bacon Yes.
h-holy shit
I'm speechless dude, I can't believe something I designed so many years ago has had such an impact.
also THANK GOD someone who knows how to do youtube made a proper tutorial ;^)
Are gonna continue thebennybox too?
You're not leaving again anytime soon, are you?

You are back!!!
ohh my goodd ive been waiting soo many monthsssss
Years**
oh my god
Welcome back!!! I thought your dead (not you just your yt)!
Wow. I must have just missed this invention (as I left ORE a while back). You gonna be on more now? :D
Indeed. I've been on fairly regularly for the past week or two.
Awesome. I'll drop by at some point and say hi :)
He's back
Did not expect this
Bennnyyyyy welcome back from the dead!!
THE HYPE IS REAL!!!!
Clicked that bell ASAP when I saw this
This was recorded recently, June 25 2017, so i guess he is back!?
OMFG he is BACK !!!!! :D
How do I make a 16-Bit CCA?
Take the carry out of the final bit and repeat it. This is unfortunately the downfall of CCA because it will add a minimum of 2 ticks every 8 bits, and it will also ripple every 8 bits. Instant carry is only an additional 0.5 ticks for the second 8 bits and an additional tick per 8 bits beyond that. BENNY IS BACK! OMG
Awesome dude!
Please be a permanent return
Um...
I can't believe it's been already 3 years I've been sitting on this chair busting my nuts! ^_^
Seriously man, where have you been? No updates or anything has made us suspect that you are dead.
Holy crap I thought Benny was dead!
lol me too

By the way, thank you for all the vids and for posting more! You really taught me so much about redstone (and adders)
Whats better? CCA or CSA?
They aren't comparable. One is 3:2 and one is 2:1.
What was he doing for 4 years?
You're alive?
*tutorial in next episode.*
dang it, we have to wait three more years
facinating!
Hi Benny!
where the fuck have you been?
OH OH OH OH OH OH OH
cool
THE SECOND COMING IS UPON US
OH MY GOD
WHAT THE
BENNNNYYYYY
ALIVE
Holy fuck nostalgia
CCA = Carry Cancel Adder ,it mean if u say cca adder it will be carry cancel adder adder
oh shit you're still playing Minecraft
Finally 😂
yaaaayy
Benny switched to Linux :)
Lol glad i remained subbed
HI
:)
Ha looks who's back! Hope you will never use command blocks :P
BENNY
yoy he said my username- Cube
RIP CLE. ;_;

Hahahaha thanks. I'm glad that a real good solid state adder finally got invented, this was pretty much what I wanted out of CLE anyway.
WHAT
IS HE HERE?!?
It isn't perfect, cause the carrytower could run out of signal strength
so? i met him
benny....like bro... i feel so much hate right now. u have a mike for vids, but no mic to talk to good 'ol De :(
Instant adders are possible
And they are huge and full of pistons. Most people rather use a 4 tick adder where you don't have to worry about 0 tick delays, 0 tick pulses and sticky pistons loseing their blocks.
I thought you died
watch him not post for another three years :)
more inconsistent than ksi
