Just to clarify the only time Princess left the train car was for the interrogation and after she beats up the guy The Yumiko conversation was in her head and she never spoke with Eugene either because when she snaps back in to reality she sees that there isn’t a crack in the wall where she spoke to Yumiko and there isn’t a hole in the other wall either So she was essentially just talking to herself the whole time. Also Angela Kang said that the title Splinter refers to the literal Splinter in her finger and her splintering personalities which makes me think she has some kind of multiple personality disorder. I also love how Paola Lazaro plays the small details of her mental health Things such as suddenly talking really fast constantly scratching at the wall forgetting her train of thought very suddenly looking around a lot how her tone of voice changes a lot so it was cool to see portrayed so well in this episode. All in all I throughly enjoyed this one So far it’s cool to get this episodes as a bridge between the proper Season 10 and the final Season and Norman Reedus said in an interview that the episodes they’re filming for Season 11 are really big in scale and crazy so it looks like they’re back to large scale episodes again still with precautions of course but these episodes were filmed during lockdowns before vaccines etc. One final Fun Fact Eleanor Matsuura (Yumiko) wasn’t able to film this episode because of travel restrictions since she lives in England so the scenes with her at the beginning were filmed by a stand in (probably her stunt double and she recorded her voice parts remotely hence why we never see her in the scene with Princess.
Her "The splinter came out," line always surprises me (somehow I forget it's coming) and it always feels cathartic (like you forgot how to breathe deeply and suddenly you remember). Maybe it's to do with the structure of the episode, or the long tension before. I like the line.
I love how Ezekiel is a great speaker even as an active imagination damn 😂 I really liked this episode, I mean we got some liiiittle more info about the Stormtroopers, we know they apparently have a really strict system, are very careful people, they apparently also have the numbers and some sort of hierarchy going on hmm and how is Stefanie connected to all that? Was it all on purpose and a set up ? Is she even involved with the Stormtroopers in the first place? Has she maybe been taken as well? And we've learned some interesting stuff about our newest character as well so yeah I'm fine with this episode 😊
Im fairly sure their armor is paintball armor, but im fairly sure kirkman was inspired by stormtroopers. Considering he did an alternate universe where rick is practically a jedi.

Instead of showing Yumiko, the episode only featured Matsuura's voice, recorded remotely. The showrunner Angela Kang explained: "During production, it was agreed that they shouldn't fly in actors based in European countries due to safety concerns related to the coronavirus pandemic." During an interview with Dalton Ross of Entertainment Weekly, Kang responded to Matsuura's absence, saying: "So the decision was made to leave Eleanor [Matsuura] and Nadia [Hilker], who hail from the UK and Germany [and play Yumiko and Magna], at home until we could get a little more of a handle on what was going on, which sucks because we love Eleanor, and she desperately wanted to come back to work. But we made a decision for safety reasons. It wouldn't have made sense to not have her in the episodes and it didn't make sense to not deal with that grouping at all. We felt like we wanted to touch on them, but how do you do that and just leave a member of the foursome out of the episode other than via voice and the effect shots?"
i feel like the writers were really stretching their legs on this episode. adding a lil psychological twist to a new character. and then boom, cliff ending as usual. and now just one more to go to get to the one i've been waiting for. great job guys.
I think Princess might have dissociative identity disorder or something It seems she’s used to trauma and she has ways of coping and getting through it She sees herself as a superhero probably because she’s had to save herself a lot.

She wasnt a known character and they gave enough info to know what she deals with in her head and how she feels about the group already because they took her along. I love her personality. At least they threw an episode in with this group because we hadn't seen much with them since the group met princess and got caught. They still dont even know what happened in Alexandria with the whisperers. It is amazing how they used the social separation of people to be able to film something during the covid shut downs. This episode has a lot of issues, but I can't deny it adds WAY more layers to Princess than in the comics, and actually very cleverly incorporates something very important down the line for the plot.
I find your comments on Eugene's voice to be funny. If you go back to when he was first introduced, his voice/accent sounds soooooooooooooooo different to what we know him to sound like come season 10.
I love how they went with Princess talking about what she went through as a kid. I really thought it was real until I noticed that King Ezizekl speaking to Princess and the voice didn't sound right. Can't believe that you guys are getting through Season 10 so fast!

Beautifully written, and Paola Lázaro is just a fantastic actress. At the time, I gave this a 9 in IMDB. The average TWD-viewer seems to hate this episode. No less than one out of five votes at IMDB rated S10E20 a disturbing 1 star.
These covid episodes really were filler. I’d say 80% of these extra 6 episodes at the end of this season didn’t need to exist. I know why all of it plays out the way it does, but I do not spoil shows or the behind the scenes info that explains these things. I love the reactions. Yeah princesses backstory is messed up like Abraham. Only referenced they couldn't even show it. Anyway i think this episode is the worst of the bunch. Just because it adds nothing to the knowledge of this new group. Despite us being with them all episode.

I don't know, I think the next one is way worse. This episode at least explores princess's character and gives her something to do (even if it doesn't work) while next one doesn't even have something "risky" happening (Daryl was the main character doing something not important so he wasn't getting hurt and Carol's part could have been better)
@@dantesparrowz1429 21 is also pretty bad but I rank that one over this one because 21 at the very least had very low stakes and just showed what the actual downtime in alexandria looked like for once. Which is something we rarely ever get, just people going through their routines with no death or war or torture. I enjoy an episode every once in a while where characters are just existing, doing their little tasks, and interacting. Whereas this episode feels like a poorly-executed, forced attempt at an hour of drama/tension/suspense that just falls flat on its face because of how boring it is. 21 didn’t try, and that’s its strength and weakness. 20 tried too hard, and thats just a weakness.
This episode was a brilliant introduction to Princess, and you really learn to love her forever.

Princess is an amazing character, I love her in the comics,........ the actress who plays her has done an amazing job playing the character.

I was no fan of Princess in season 10. But she grew on me.
I always find it odd when people call a tiny bit of wood a "splinter". Here in Scotland we have our own word "skelf".

Kind of a pointless episode but it does give us background on princess and set up for things coming in the final season
