When installing the new headlamp, what is the red wire? In the photographs of the light on the website the red wire seems like it should be plugged in somewhere right?
Chad Hannon, the red wire is for controlling the parking light separately. If you connect it you will no longer have a visual startup sequence. If you are in the US then it’s completely unnecessary. If you are in an ECE standards country that requires a functioning front position then you will want to connect it to the positive side of your original front position.
The front position is not reused because it is not needed in most cases. See at 1:12, where it is disconnected and then tucked away. If you absolutely need front position functionality, you could wire in the positive lead from the sub-harness going to the stock light to the red wire.
@@motodemic I mounted a generic led one and the unique issue that I'm having is related to the handbar switches. The one I used for flashing the high light now turns on the high light while the one I used for turning on the high light turns off the headlight 😅
Not on all the 900 triples I guess. I have a speed triple 900 from 1995 and that bike has a 5,75 inch headlight. Still looking for a nice conversion kit for my bike though....so if anyone has a solution, please let me know....
This video is intended to show the install but you can head to bit.ly/bonnie-thrux-upgrade and see some more photos. We are working on a headlight break down, stay tuned!
High beam wise they are very close in performance. Especially since both of them illuminate ALL optics during high beam. One of the fundamentals of the Adaptive was to make it so you don’t have to switch between low and high constantly. But, if you don’t need the cornering functionality go with the Standard LED, you won’t be disappointed.
Sorry, it will not as the Scrambler has a smaller headlight. We have helped many Scrambler owners convert up to the 7-inch Bonneville/Thruxton spec though.
Fuckin great... I'm going to buy it for my Bonneville T100 865 year 2015...
Looks great - will this also fit a 2020 Thruxton RS with the fairing?
The upgrade in this video does not but we do have one that does 👍 - bit.ly/mdTmc2
Can I just upgrade to a LED bulb on my stock headlamp? 2007 T 100 Bonneville.
Will this work on a 2013 Triumph Scrambler?
Ro Vega no sorry, but we’ve helped many customers swap up to the 7-inch Bonneville/Thruxton light - bit.ly/md7inclassic

Hi. i noticed you did not connect the front position bolt. Isn't it necessary?

Len Scapoff yes!

i am confused between 8790 adaptive and 8700 evo 2 ... i want very good high beam ... according to you which one will have better high beam

Will this fit a 2012 Triumph Scrambler?
Sorry, it will not as the Scrambler has a smaller headlight. We have helped many Scrambler owners convert up to the 7-inch Bonneville/Thruxton spec though.
Is ok with the scrambler 1200 xc?
This is not compatible with that model. Please see our site for the Scrambler XC/XE specific upgrade - bit.ly/scrm1200
