The red and white "flags" on the power lines are there to draw the attention of any tall trucks or people working nearby so they're less likely to touch the lines. They spin in the wind to be even more noticeable.

If I get anywhere near Deepwater a detour would be mandatory to take a photo of the Eclipse Theatre. The next time we cross the Tasman at the end of the month we are going to Melbourne which is too far away and the following time it will be to ride the Ghan and drive back next vAugust.
