I am from surat and here police verification is very smooth as said by government officials ,applicant with 1 known person not 2 ,apart from relative needed to visit police stations with their identification card with photo copy , sign there and leave and best part is now there is no involvement of any other favour like money or anything else like it was prevalent before few years.. in Gujarat all police station have particularly given room for passport applications with CCTV in every corner and my surat experience is just butter 🧈smooth ,finished verification in less than 10 minutes, and after verification I received passport in 3 days and overall it just took 7 flat days .... and another experience is of my father’s passport it just took 2 days for him to receive passport after submitting applications the main reason was it was post verification of police officers.. so went for verification after receiving renewal passport which was applied in normal category.. both applications were done in Surat,Gujarat...

I have made 3 in family and all had to go to police station, in few cases they do not call even, one has to enquire about it in nearest police station. Also, a friend from MP wanted to apply here in CG and he got rejected saying you can only apply from MP. Just shared personal experience, maybe it didn't happened in Delhi. Location is a reason. One cannot apply from other location. It will be a issue. Also, police doesn't come to check, they call you to come to station.

I have one question, in my adhaar card, there is one letter error in my father's surname. But in the rest of my identity proofs (Driving licence/Pan Card/Voter ID) there is no any problem.
