So Chimata was a god that was basically on her deathbed due to lack of faith, and if it wasn't for Megumu approaching her with her card idea, she probably would've disappeared completely. Many fans have interpreted Chimada's ordeal as representing ZUN's views on the COVID-19 pandemic bringing physical marketplace activities to a screeching halt. 5:12 My thoughts on the whole NFT debacle, and how someone could just take any images/steal anyone's digital artworks off the internet and sell the virtual rights to something that can be shared indefinitely anyway. No one ever commented on how Chimata's non-spells are basically Koishi's Rorschach in Danmaku spellcard, which tbh are much harder than her earlier spellcards. I do like how the colours of the danmaku in the non-spells corresponds to the colour spectrum, starting with colours with shorter wavelengths earlier and those with longer wavelengths later, ROYGBIV style. Even An Offering to the Ownerless follows this ordering, starting with purple and ending with red before cycling. First non = purple and blue; second non = purple, blue and cyan; third non = cyan and green; final non = yellow and red. Anyway, congrats on your first NMNB on a main game Omega!
ah yes, finally beating ceo of RG(ay)B I think it's funny her design is (necessarily) disastrous and messy yet still just feels like your everyday touhou character, damn zun's charm. I am biased with rainbows and vibrant colors so she, along with IN yuyuko and Keiki are my favorite designs
When I first saw Chimata I thought that ZUN being a Jojo fanboy the design came from Sticky Fingers. Final Fantasy style would have belts made of belts instead
When i saw her silhouette in the game cover, the first thing that came into my mind is someone related to Sumireko. Its interesting that were actually getting introduced to possibly lore heavy characters, and the last 4 games introduced at least one god or a powerful character. Chimata's patterns have interesting concepts, like the semi-survival spell. All of her nonspells and her penultimate are static, so you can do the same thing everytime. This is probably by far the easiest stage 6 boss once you practice her fight a lot. Good luck on the extra stage (**sees dying at first spell** oh no). The stage portion isn't too hard from my experience once you route it. The boss is pretty fun, but as a Marisa main myself, I do have to face that one "you know what" pattern.
Damn no one really does own anything "Bullet market" is just "Overflowing Blemishes" / "Refinement of Earthen Impurity" but with two circles and not just one

It's interesting to hear that rainbow bit of trivia, because I remember hearing from Chuggaaconroy's Okami LP that rainbows were a bad omen in Japanese mythology. I wouldn't be surprised if I was wrong, though.
Maybe different regions of Japan had different folk lore for rainbows? or maybe the interpretation just changed with time? I remember hearing that rainbows were considered a symbol of snakes and approaching danger in Japan.
Well uh... this is something alright! Just like in Stage 5, Tsukasa's nonspell can be misdirected. I dunno about you, when I first saw Chimata I was like: *points* "Yumemi recolor" As a character she's... ok. Chimata's nonspells are much faster on higher difficulties. I was comparing them to Junko when I first faced them since my first run was on Hard lmao Fun fact, the gap in the amulet wave on An Offering to the Ownerless is aimed at Chimata when she enters the screen. Also yes, this spell is completely trivialized by Okina's Back Door. And so is Danmaku Hoarder's Obsession. Although if you don't have that card, on higher difficulties, doing the strat Omega did here is not recommended, instead run a circle around Chimata. Yes, it takes longer, but it's a simple pattern nonetheless, and as long as you don't lose resources, that's what matters, right? Bullet Market becomes interesting on Lunatic. Chimata will actually move left and right on the screen instead of staying still. This also means she'll stay where she was when the spell ended for the fourth nonspell. Rainbow Ring of People is literally free after one attempt. Bullet Dominion becomes mainly just faster on higher difficulties. Giving me Geometric Creature vibes ngl. Meanwhile Asylum of Danmaku is... kind of an uncomfortable pattern to dodge for me. On the fourth phase, there's also a line coming from the bottom on Hard/Lunatic. Also if you take out phase 1 with just the right timing, Chimata may end up firing two waves of rings at the same time which is very ungood. Overall, Chimata is now widely considered the easiest final boss in the series. And I can see why. Some people even say she feels like an Extra boss. Ohhhh, if you're going to stick with Marisa, then that means you'll have to fight Momoyo with Marisa... This is going to be interesting. Because I've heard that Momoyo is nearly impossible to beat with Marisa.
I /think/ Chimata's clothes being stitched together pieces of random fabrics might be a reference to asian market-goers, though I'm not too sure if this is a thing in Japan too. You see, in the more rural parts of asia, or in asian countries with a lot of old people, there's still a lot of older people who make their own clothes and recycle old fabrics, as they aren't too fond of wasting cloth that can still be put to use. The result is clothes made up of an amalgam of other clothes (though usually with some uniformity unlike Chimata). You see this a lot in China, and in the west, most of the old asians are hanging around your various chinatowns, and in those asian markets is where you'll see a lot of these kinds of clothing. I'm really trying to make a reason for Chimata's fashion style but this is quite a reach ;;;;;
Funny that Eiki card can still give you a perfect clear, maybe Eirin's card does as well... Sadly death cancel doesn't work for the EX boss card though lol
Seems like we found out why Junko abhorred Lunarians. They were all goddamned capitalistic pigs and corporation employees all along! In that case, I sympathize with her.
Next up, we've got Minecraft Centipede (and the most amount of characters I've ever seen in a Touhou game in one conversation) Note: For all you Marisa players, yes that includes you Megamanomega, GOOD FREAKING LUCK
At long last, we fight the god of capitalism!! Chimata's probably one of the easiest final bosses in the series in my opinion. A HUGE breath of fresh air after Stage 5 and the nightmare that is Stage 4. She's not really my favorite, since I'm not really connecting with her design that much and her spells are a bit plain overall since they're more gimmicky, but she's still pretty fun. "Asylum of Danmaku" in particular might be one of my favorite final boss spells, though! I feel the same way about her theme. Definitely bombastic and fits the fight, though not too memorable. Then again, it's really hard to match up when the previous game's final boss was Keiki, who was fantastic. ... still doesn't mean I've 1cc'd this yet though lmao. Still gotta get to that and finally stop Stage 4 from ruining all of my runs!!
well I just 1cc'd this game with sanae, and can say it was pretty fun. Edit: I also beat sanae blank card and sakuya. I stayed up all night doing this. WHEN I CLOSE MY EYES CHIMATA'S BULLETS ARE RIGHT THERE!

Got a Perfect achievement on Lunatic too, just with Eirin card instead Also, that Spell 2 strategy is very risky, you're better off moving around the screen to spread out the bullets Also, also, Survival spell, just stick close to the green wave, as that would make it so you only have to go through one wave each time it changes direction Also, also, also, for the final spell, that strat of don't move much is extremely risky for Phase 2 onward Activating the blue waves from the side as soon as you can is better as that would make it so the knives don't surround you Hm, I wonder what your card setup would be for the Extra stage?
The zippers are meant to represent different places with the things connecting them being transactions, or market roads, or something like that. I'll be honest and say I really don't like her design (the only other design i didn't like instantly was Hecatia), although fanart that ditches her zippers and dims her colors usually makes her look way better. Honestly with the recent fangame rainbow final boss trend, she kind of looks like she walked out of a meme fangame mocking that trend. Also she kind of looks like Yatsuhashi (cause of the hair and hair band). Danmaku wise, not gonna lie I was extremely underwhelmed when I first fought her (especially since the rest of the game was really good IMO). Most of her fight has grown on me now (except first and fourth spells), definitely helped by the really good music. But honestly IMO she is a puzzle boss that should be the Extra Boss instead of being the final boss. I really like the themeing on her 3rd spell though, the pattern itself is pretty basic but you are essentially trading bullets that spawn around you for bullets that spawn around Chimata.

You see this a lot in China, and in the west, most of the old asians are hanging around your various chinatowns, and in those asian markets is where you'll see a lot of these kinds of clothing.
I'm really trying to make a reason for Chimata's fashion style but this is quite a reach ;;;;;
Damn , first perfect clear thanks to eiki card
I’m actually impressed that you NMNB this game! I wonder if you can keep that up for the extra...
Funny that Eiki card can still give you a perfect clear, maybe Eirin's card does as well... Sadly death cancel doesn't work for the EX boss card though lol
Lunarians during pride month:
Seems like we found out why Junko abhorred Lunarians. They were all goddamned capitalistic pigs and corporation employees all along!
In that case, I sympathize with her.
Next up, we've got Minecraft Centipede (and the most amount of characters I've ever seen in a Touhou game in one conversation)
Note: For all you Marisa players, yes that includes you Megamanomega,
GOOD
FREAKING
LUCK
With Chimata, now we have 3 final bosses in a roll who is a god (4 if you count Junko).
Junko isn't a god.
I dont know how chimata’s theme isnt memorable to you, the part that always lines up with rainbow ring of people gives me goosebumps every time lol
well I just 1cc'd this game with sanae, and can say it was pretty fun.
Edit: I also beat sanae blank card and sakuya. I stayed up all night doing this. WHEN I CLOSE MY EYES CHIMATA'S BULLETS ARE RIGHT THERE!
Are you doing the extra stage soon?
By the way, will you play Ephemeral Unnatural Balance?
書き文字までしっかり訳されてるとは思わなんだ
Good luck with the extra stage
Obra maestra
Are you okay? You haven't posted anything for over a week, now.
Where do you find the "extra story" bit that you always helpfully edit in during the credits? I tried to look for them but I couldn't find them myself (apart from places like here or the wiki)
The cape is epic but idk about the rest of the design
Yeah it’s cool I guess
is there any chance that you could orginise all your playthroughs into playlists? I'm a relatively new fan and it's pretty anoying to find the series I want to watch
You should be able to see that on my channel. I've made playlists of every game I've played
@@MegamanOmega184 do you have 2 channels or something? I just checked the channel that posted this video and it says "This channel has no playlists" when I went to check...
@@Eclipsed_Embers That's... bizarre. But I think it's fixed. Try looking now. It looks like TH-cam did something and yeah, it wasn't showing any of my playlists. I played with some settings and it looks like they're visible now though.
@@MegamanOmega184 ah, thankyou. I needed to reload a couple of times but the playlists finally appeared
@@Eclipsed_Embers If it ever does it again, just refresh
Yes, finally. An opponent worthy for the (9)…
Minecraft.
Nice. Now do the centipede run
Got a Perfect achievement on Lunatic too, just with Eirin card instead
Also, that Spell 2 strategy is very risky, you're better off moving around the screen to spread out the bullets
Also, also, Survival spell, just stick close to the green wave, as that would make it so you only have to go through one wave each time it changes direction
Also, also, also, for the final spell, that strat of don't move much is extremely risky for Phase 2 onward
Activating the blue waves from the side as soon as you can is better as that would make it so the knives don't surround you
Hm, I wonder what your card setup would be for the Extra stage?
Duude will you play TH18's EX soon? I am in need of your guidance and dank commentaries lmao
It's going up on Monday. I had to take a week off to finish judging the Bullet Hell Artistry 3 entries.
@@MegamanOmega184 cool!
Congrats on that No Miss No Bomb! Woooooo! (ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ*:・゚✧ ✧゚・: *ヽ(◕ヮ◕ヽ)

I love Chimata, shout out to gay fail women 😍
Fumofumo. Why couldn’t have Zun put Cirno in this game too.
