Looks like a lovely town And thankfully the weather is starting to cool down.
It really is a great seaside town to visit. We've visited during winter in the past and even then on a sunny day it's a great place to take a leisurely stroll!
Gelateria Dolce e Amaro was our first stop in Viareggio, five years ago! They're Sicilians, and Marco and his family make the best Gelato in Viareggio!

I was told by the local police that the free beach is no longer available during the summer anymore whilst the Bagni are operating and that the closest free beach on this side of Viareggio is up at Lido Di Camaiore. Hope this helps. Thank you for watching!
There is a huge wild beach (there is a natural park) just south of the city centre which takes around 20 minutes to reach from where you were. It is three kilometres long

In entire VIAREGGIO not possible to be on the beach with your towel? How is that even legally possible.
As Australians, with our beautiful beaches accessible to everyone for free, we do find it challenging trying to understand why there is such restrictive beach access when visiting Italian beaches. Thanks for watching.
