There was no camera shake at all im just amazed how beautiful the variegated ones are plus the cream ones I want to make several for me before I do for my daughter's and grandkids lol call me stingy but I haven't made myself anything for a long time im going to make a few shrugs I have seen on her kc I think that's her name
MUHAAHAA! I've just got this cuff done, and I'm just sat here giggling like a maniac because it already looks so good!! I have way too much confidence in these gloves for someone who just started crocheting like 3 days ago. This is such a straightforward video, and the written pattern is very easy to follow. I just learned how to read crochet patterns yesterday, so this is great practice for me. Merci beaucoup!
No question but a comment… This has been the EASIEST, by far, to follow of ALL of the basic patterns I’ve binge watched! THANK YOU so much for keeping it simple and straight to the point. How you have the steps posted as text in the video is more than helpful. I look forward to many more of your patterns. I’ve subscribed to your newsletter and now to this channel. You are definitely now my “go to” for new patterns. Thank you again so much. These will accompany scarves as Christmas gifts this year so this was also very timely!
I know this is an old video, but I’d like to thank you for explaining how the Back Loop Only technique makes the ribbing!! 1) Because I’d have worried I was messing it up if you didn’t mention that it was meant to look like that 2) I have been absolutely terrified of attempting ribbing on gloves/sweaters/etc. because it seemed like it would be scary and difficult. I can’t believe it can be this easy, thank you!! 💖
I just made these tonight in solid gray. My hands get so cold in the house during the winter and these are perfect . I LOVE THEM!! Thanks for the pattern and tutorial.
Hey thankyou for this! Just started crochet from scratch so had to do it several times but now I've got it! Such a great helpful video. I found out that if I don't change color at the slip stitch, but change color on the next chain 1 step, there's no seam at all! Not sure if that's a bad idea or not but looks great. Xxx
thank u so so much for this video, its really the perfect one that i was looking for 😭 my wrist warmers turned out super cute and nice, im in love with them 😭
Found some hand warmers at a local craft/consignment store for $14/pair and figured I could do that on my own for much less with my current supply of yarn. Glad I found your channel. Love the colors! I just finished one hand warmer and ready to start the 2nd. I am using burgundy solid and teal/green/purple variegated and it's looking great!🧶
I love your videos!!! You explain so great visually!! I actually just got done with the wrist warmers and I love them. I’ve never made anything like them before. Thanks for posting these great tutorials!
These are so cool. We need these at work atm. I work in supermarket and need to be able to touch the monitor. These would keep my hands warm. TFS 💜🙏🇦🇺🌬
Great tutorial and I love the colors and pattern💖. I've been thinking about crocheting some thumbless mittens for my constantly texting granddaughter. She would love these too. Tyfs God bless you
Just purchased the pattern on Etsy. FYI for the joining of the cuff the pattern does not say to only slip stitch into the BLO so I’m glad I watched the video
Thanks for the info! I will review the pattern. You can slip stitch through both loops. I just thought it looked nicer going through the BLO when working the video. It makes the seam a little less bulky.
@@WindingRoadCrochet Yes it does and I did the BLO. Loving this so far. I have purchased 3 prior (other vendors) and they didn't work out. I'm excited to see how these turn out. TY
As a beginner, everything was so simple to follow! I loved these warmers! I made some for myself, my daughter, and my husband. The sizing chart was perfect, please make one for mittens! ^_^
This is perfect. I just got an order for fingerless gloves. I like to make and try different patterns by different people. I'm going to try this pattern for that request. Thank you for this tutorial. Merry Christmas and Happy Holiday 🤶☃️❄️🎄
Hi!! I did it for my daughter last night. She is extremely inloved with your yarns color. Is it papaya? I couldnt find anything like this in Argentina so I would try Amazon!
Ummm... I am not 100% sure I would say 2 hours. I crochet at about 24 stitches per minute and the pattern has 1718 stitches. So that comes out to about 71 minutes for me. Everyone crochets at a different pace and that doesn't include taking any breaks. I hope this information helps. You may want to time yourself to see how many stitches you work in a minute.
Yes you would. On the cover photo I have one worked in all white and it is worked the same way just without the color changes. Working in the third loop gives the wrist warmers a raised detail.
do you have any advice on getting a straighter seem besides pulling on it? i’ve been working on these gloves for three days trying to get a straighter seam!
I'm super excited to start these today! I was wondering if I could just work in continuous rounds with two colors? That way there won't be a seam I'm thinking? What do you think? ❤❤
You can try. I can’t remember if we had to turn to be able to work into the third loop. If there is no turning then yes you could work in continuous rounds.
Question: On the row where we create the thumb hole, if I were to make the hole after only 6 stitches, would that put the semi-crooked seam in the palm of my hand? I think that could look better. Do you think it would work or is there another reason you count 12?
Do you have a tutorial for teens. I made the wrist warmer but the wrist part was too big. Do i adjust it to my size or will that affect the rest of it? Thanks and I love it😍😍❤❤
Hi there! I first saw your pattern on Pinterest and I love making it but I'm having a few issues. The number of rounds on the pattern from your blog isn't matching the number of rows you did here. You have 13 rounds after the thumb hole for this pattern but you only did about 5. Is there an updated version of the pattern available because by following the pattern my gloves are coming out different sizes and widths and I'm using a 5mm hook.
When the pattern says a total of 13 rows that is including all the rows in the hand section. The ones before an after the thumb opening (and inclusing the thumb opening). Depending on the size you are making you will work 6-7 rows after you complete thumb row 2. Let me know in a new comment what size you are making.
This yarn uses a worsted weight #4 yarn. The super bulky yarn will result in a very very large pair of gloves. These gloves require about 125 yards of worsted weight yarn.
Yes mastering a good seam is tricky and does tend to show when you are working in the third loop. You could do an invisible join at the end of each row but that requires fastening off at the end of every row and leaves a lot of yarn ends to weave in.
Here: www.windingroadcrochet.com/crochet-wrist-warmers-free-pattern For future reference I try to put the link to the written pattern in the description box.
honestly i found your tutorial to be very confusing and hard to follow, particularly when it came to the first row of half double crochets. i wish you would have gone slower and shown where you were inserting your hook because my stitch count is wrong every time.
Sorry for the camera shake. You can find the written pattern here: www.windingroadcrochet.com/crochet-wrist-warmers-free-pattern/

Oh thank you so much. Clear and concise is always my goals for my videos. I hope you enjoy the patterns.
After many hours of working I finished the gloves and they are actually so cute thank you so much for your simple and easy work ❤️
You are welcome 😊
Love these!! I wear fingerless gloves all the time!!

My rule of thumb is to always do what works best for you. I will have to try changing colors during the chain one.
Good afternoon from Hungary, I just purchased your Gnome pattern on Ravelry, absolutly inlove with it. Thank you very much. Happy New Year.
Thank you! You too!
Thank you for this tutorial, very easy to follow!

Beautiful gloves 👍

I just used your instruction but modified to my smaller hands. I hold my work and yard just like you do. But I’m a lefty.
That is awesome!
Thank you I made this as my first mitten
Wonderful!
New to your channel. These are so pretty. Thanks for the tutorial.

Yes it is papaya
How long did they take you in hours?

You’ve made a wonderful tutorial for these very adorable wrist warmers 💕 As a newbie I will be able to make these 🥰
Wonderful!
This was super quick and easy! Thank you so much😊
You're so welcome!
If i’m working with just one color should I still work into the 3rd loop every other row or work into the normal stitches the whole time?
Working into the third loop gives you a raised texture.
If I want the project to be one color, would I still insert in the 3rd loop in the back or just regular hdc stitch
No. Half double crochets just tend to lean.
my second wrist warmer turned out a little bigger than my first 😭 i believe it was because of my tension since the number of rows is the same
It could be. I sometimes forget that if I am stressed when I crochet, then I crochet tighter or if I am relaxed I can crochet looser.

I have the seam on the outside of the hand. if you count 6 the seam will be in the palm. I don't see an issue with that idea.
Do you have a tutorial for teens. I made the wrist warmer but the wrist part was too big. Do i adjust it to my size or will that affect the rest of it? Thanks and I love it😍😍❤❤
I do not have a video tutorial for teens, but the written pattern includes toddlers through large adult.
Hi there! I first saw your pattern on Pinterest and I love making it but I'm having a few issues. The number of rounds on the pattern from your blog isn't matching the number of rows you did here. I have about 90 yards of super bulky, size 6 yarn, will it be enough yarn for these gloves? 😊
This yarn uses a worsted weight #4 yarn. The super bulky yarn will result in a very very large pair of gloves. These gloves require about 125 yards of worsted weight yarn.
5:40 (ignore this, its for future reference for me)
ok
How much yarn did you use for both gloves?
108 yards, there is a material list at the beginning of most videos.
if my wrist is smaller, would i make the cuffs smaller as well?? i find 28 rows to be too big for my wrist. 25 seems better!!!
Yes you can do that.
I love love love your pattern…. I’m not too fond of the seams…..❣️Lucy.
Yes mastering a good seam is tricky and does tend to show when you are working in the third loop. You could do an invisible join at the end of each row but that requires fastening off at the end of every row and leaves a lot of yarn ends to weave in.
Where do I find the written directions?
Here: www.windingroadcrochet.com/crochet-wrist-warmers-free-pattern For future reference I try to put the link to the written pattern in the description box.
how much yarn did you need in grams?
Yarns differ in weights, but for the yarn used in the video 68 grams.
Someone help my rows keep decreasing for the wrist part
Try counting your stitches after every row. It might help you determine where you are losing stitches.
@@WindingRoadCrochet thx i just missed a couple stitches srry
I wish you used a darker background or yarn, I wish you did close ups so we could actually see the stitches.
On youtube you can zoom in.
tooo fast
That is unfortunate. On youtube, you have the ability to slow down the playback speed.
honestly i found your tutorial to be very confusing and hard to follow, particularly when it came to the first row of half double crochets. i wish you would have gone slower and shown where you were inserting your hook because my stitch count is wrong every time.
With youtube you can slow down the video and you can even zoom in. I would look at the settings by pressing the little gear and see if that helps you.
