    what i hate about etsy is that if a customer leaves a bad review, the review sticks even if it is years old
    I get 1 in 100 reviews that is not 5 stars, and etsy has it pretty much pinned through all my products, a review from 2019 from a person that didnt even make sense.

    Great video but he's incorrect about the Etsy fees. They take a 6.5% + $0.2 transaction fee but there's also a 3% +$0.25 processing fee. This processing fee is already included in the Amzon and Ebay fees. So this means fees are about the same on Etsy as Ebay, and not cheaper.
    These fees also change based on where you're from. I'm from Belgium and for me it's a 6.5% + $0.2 transaction fee + a 4% +€0.3 processing fee + a 2.5% currency conversion fee, so a total of 13%+$0.55.

    • @konesons
      @konesons 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      There are also fees on shipping. You ll pay shipping and shipping transaction fees.

    • @financialchimes4546
      @financialchimes4546 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@konesons Yes, but that's also the case with Ebay and Amazon. If they didn't do it that way people would make the item cheaper and the shipping more expensive to avoid fees.

    • @LL-ex1gp
      @LL-ex1gp 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@konesons I think Etsy offers discounts on shipping don’t they? Not sure. Just curious to know - and whether what they charge you for shipping fees adds up to what you’d normally pay at USPS. I guess I’m asking if it actually does cost less to use Etsy labels or not.

At the end of the day, these people don't have to share, they want to share! Also, if there is incorrect information, than based on comments, I search for the right information, I don't think these people are trying to lie to us who are watching, I think they want us to be motivated by their story.

    Great video! I love his setup and how he’s using commercial grade equipment to improve efficiency. I subscribed to him from the last time he was on.
    1 thing though - He’s claiming Etsy fees are 6.5 %. That’s not accurate. There’s the transaction fee, the listing fee and also the payment processing fee for Etsy Payments. All together it’s more than 10% total (including fees on the shipping cost). It is definitely still cheaper than Amazon though, which is usually 15% for Handmade, 30% + if using FBA for Prime.

    You are awesome, Vlad. I’m a graphic designer with a UX and marketing background. For most of my life I’ve had people anxiety, something I struggle with still to this day. I’ve had trauma dealing with the public segment and always preferred working with professionals or skilled people in my field. Just never really been good at talking straight to the customer. For that reason, I’ve always been afraid of using what I know to launch on my own, knowing I’ll have to deal with the whiniest of customers. Also learning the finances and taxes part on my own. It’s unnerving and sometimes lonely trying to siphon all of the fragmented info that’s out there to understand the essentials of what I need to know to start. I’ve got my Etsy account open and a single listing on draft, still afraid to take the leap because I don’t have a concrete idea of what I really want to sell. I guess you can say I’m afraid of making money, lol! You’re very inspiring, a quick whip and nearly made me faint when you mentioned your TH-cam channel. Thanks!

  • @hd-be7di
    @hd-be7di ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Etsy is NOT 6.5% it's way more than that. There is the main 6.5% transaction fee then add the 4% payment processing fee plus a 20 cent listing fee for each item sold and finally another whooping 15% fee on top of all this for sales generated through Etsy's offsite ads (that you can't opt out of once you make more than 10 000$ a year). So the total can be more than 25% in fees and the minimum is 10.5%. Minus production costs, shipping and taxes and youll be lucky to pocket 1/3 of the revenue as profit

    $60000. Would take at least 450 man hours of labor if each sale averaged about $25. and too 10 min.
    That would be 3000. transactions per month. One full timer person works 160 hours per month. He would have to pay 2 people besides himself. And can all three people fulfill an order every ten minutes? And he keeps no inventory. Shop looks pretty quiet to me. I think this video was made to promote Etsy and that mentoring company.

    If you buy items and don't pay taxes, to resale on etsy , how do you pay taxes on those items if etsy is who is collecting taxes? Trying to open a LLC to buy items to sell on etsy to be personalized

    • @pat4005
      @pat4005 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think one of the questions that you are trying to ask, is how, as a future Etsy Seller, can you buy items or components of products you will be making for resale, and not pay sales tax when you buy them?
      The answer is, is that when you set up your business in your state, you will be accumulating various important numbers, etc. like certificate numbers, tax ID number, sales & use tax numbers, license number, business bank account numbers, etc.
      Then when you go to purchase items and components wholesale or similar, you will ask the business selling where to fill out the form that you will enter your business info that will show that you are eligible to not have to pay sales tax on those items.
      That is because those items are part of products (or a product) that you will be reselling to a customer, and therefore you (or Etsy), will be collecting sales tax at the end, from the buyer, and remitting it later to the proper sales tax authority.
      You don't need to have an LLC set up in order to do this.
      You would just need most likely, your social security number if you are a sole proprietorship.
      But it is best to apply online first (during your initial stages of setting up a small new business), for an EIN number with the IRS.
      Then you will have it when you need it to apply for business bank account, state and local business set up and taxes, wholesale accounts with vendors of the products, supplies and materials you need, etc.
      But remember, you can only not pay sales tax on items that you are reselling, not on items you keep for use in your business or personal use.
      If Etsy is collecting sales tax, then they are also paying it to the proper state agencies, what they have collected.
      You don't need to worry about it.
      I think you may just be confusing those taxes with one another.
      So you do not need to pay sales tax on items you will resell but you are responsible for getting the required info to the wholesale seller of the items or components you need to buy.
      If Etsy (or another marketplace), is collecting state sales tax for you, then they will also be paying it and you don't need to pay it because you are not the one in the transaction who is collecting it.

    чувак зарабатывает 60к в месяц и гордится тем что купил принт за 30к. в чем прикол?

      Здесь даже нет прикола. Обычное инфоцы*ганство. Новый тренд.... не имеет значение местонахождение. "Смотри как я из 100 рублей / 100 долларов делаю миллион выручки".

    So tired of all these videos featuring people making $1,000s of bills a day making this look so simple. I’d have better odds getting hit by lightning than making this kind of bread. Not as easy as they make it seem people.

      I don't think the goal of this is to make it look so easy. Vlad had very humble beginnings. It's inspiring to see someone come from a $100 sewing machine to what he's doing now. Don't be so negative! 😁 you might not reach his levels of revenue but I do believe it's possible to do something like this as a full time job. It takes time and A LOT of work.
