He was a great man who inspired me early on in my relationship with the Lord. After wanting to learn more about him and his testimony, background, etc. I came across quite a few article that mentioned that he occasionally smoked cigars, and felt that it was okay. I’m just wondering did he ever fully give up this habit?

The minister did not say those words to him when he was saved. He preached at Waterbeach, not where this guy said. It was NOT 200 seats in the church. It was over 1,500 seats and had to be enlarged. Your ignorance is showing again. Christians were killing other Christians so severely during the 15th & 16th Centuries in London that a law was established in 1689, Tolerance Act. It had to do with Tolerance for Nonconformists. So, when you speak of Calvin (he did warn Servetus, come to Geneva, you're dead). Researching the times and situations, true believers act so foolishly. Scripture verifies this as well. 🙄
I cannot fathom that during the Reformation, the believers in infant baptism only would drown alive other Christians that believed in professing faith before baptism.

Baptismal regeneration booklet was not about infant baptism so much as it was about Baptism is a must for salvation.
