@@rx8dude907 I don't think its necessary. Dealerships install these and sell them nonstop. that is a made up assumption unless you have actually seen one damaged which i doubt you have.
Spacer lifts are looked down on in the Jeep community too mostly for the reason that it wears out parts and makes the ride rougher than a real lift kit would. The other thing is a lot of people put them on after the vehicle is a few years old and stuff is getting worn already then it wears it out faster yet. You may like your spacer lift now wait and see you will replace it all with a real suspension lift. I love the Old Man Emu lift I installed on my Jeep 7 years ago it was well worth the money over spacers.
Why are you reading the msrp base price on top without the added options? The true price of the cars are at the bottom of the page WITH the added said options. Those trucks are way more with the added option bro.
... uhhh, actually you should be able to get most any vehicle in the US for less than the MSRP, you can't be serious, you're not paying the dealer mark up add ons??? i thought everyone knew better than that.
@Andrew King Jr. He’s not talking about dealer add-ons. He mentioned the base prices on the trucks without any options at all. There were several factory options on these trucks which made the trucks several thousand more. In other words, he read us the wrong price.
Does the trd sport package for 2020 come with a limited slip in the rear like they did for the second gen trd sport models, if not, second gen trd sport models are still better in my opinion, and at least they put the Bilstein back on the trd sport because for while they did not have them in there for the third gens it was only on the trd off road
I think if your buying a tacoma with a plan to build it just for overland and the occasional 4x4 off road, just get a SR5. The couple extra thousand just for crawl control, suspension, and minor interior feature just can't be justified in my opinion. I overland alot and have only ever used my crawl control twice, not even because I needed too, but just wanted too...lol...
Very true! Great advice. I would only Upgrade to OR for the rear locker, not crawl. Could always add locker later on SR/SR5 4x4 but at probably around $2,000-2,500 after labor, which is pretty pricey unless you can do it yourself. I guess, depending on the price you get out the door, could still end up being a savings. I like knowing if I need it I got it, but could always just use 4x4 base model and see if you truly need it and go from there. If you know you’re gonna be rock crawling more, most likely it will majorly come in handy.
IMO, SR5 in 4x4 makes about as much sense as a TRD OR in 4x2 - not much. For just $2K over the SR5, in the TRD OR you get the AC inverter and in-bed power outlet, push-button start, remote start, Qi wireless phone charging, inclinometer and altimeter, machined wheels, wider tires, off road suspension with Bilstein shocks, sturdier rear differential with locker, multi-terrain select, and crawl control. The price is a bargain for all of that equipment, and you’ll get most or all of it back in resale value. Even if you never use the last two, for even light off-roading the other features are good to have. The Bilstein-tuned off road suspension alone is worth at least a Grand. The inverter is handy for camping trips. Push button starting may seem like a silly advantage, but it is one of those things that once you have, you wonder how you got along without it, and remote starting is similarly handy.
