First online Hell experience yesterday with my zoo Druid, I was roaming in the sewers of Lut Gholein and got ganked by this huge green Diablo. I'm traumatized now, thanks Blizzard.
Took a while, but I was able to kill dclone with my zookeeper, same thing though, didn't realize he spawned then, hello!
The INTENDED experience, I had to hunt him for a month, then made it only because a fire resist shrine spawned righ next to him lol
You should always make a Edge runword bow for the reduced merchant prices. That item has prevent monster healing AND poison damage which is super handy as you can spam arrows until Diablo turns green from the poison and you know for sure that you hit him and applied PMH.
Another important thing to note is prevent monster healing is applied for 80 minutes but only as long as you're on the screen with Diablo. If you go about 2 screens lenght, pmh needs to be re-applied. Same if you die or go to town. If you go away and come back, Diablo won't regenerate until some damage is applied to him. As soon as you damage him, he will start regenerating again so make sure that the first damage you deal to him after being away is with a pmh weapon.

Wish I had known this a couple days ago. I was paranoid and kept reapplying every 5 minutes (took 40 minutes to kill him).
I tryed it but as a sorc it was to difficult for me to handle it so i killed him with pur Damage XD
What if I have PMH on my HWANIN's belt? Do I still need to hit him first? I'm playing hybrid shock wave/ summoner druid and DColone is healing anyway.
@@bizon33obroty PMH, like crushing blow, open wound, +elemental damage, ... is a physical attack only attribute. You apply it only with a successful weapon attack or arrow, not spells. So yes, you have to hit him first.
I copy and paste the text I wrote to someone here for tips about how a Summon Necro can easy kill the Clone, sorry Phil you forgot the easiest one of all...;-):
Ja missed that too in the video, its the easiest of all and you dont have to be rich and have fancy items, you can buy +3 summon skills at the vendors. Use your skill points like normal, full skell, full mastery, etc etc, spells, decrepify one point, life tap one point. Put also one point in revive and also summon resist. It depends how you play, but those two skills points you will need. You should at the end at least have 5-6 points in revive through items.
Find the clone, leave him alone, open TP, go to river of flame via WP and revive some of the big dudes, Urdars or whatever their name is, did not play for a few months now and just watch Phils videos once in a while to be up to date. Use the WP to go back to town and your TP to go back to the clone and let them start crushing him. They have a 25% chance of crushing blow. 3 or 4 of them are enough since they stand in each others way otherwise, the clone usually cannot kill them. Try to get your merc a prevent monster heal or open wounds weapon, really cheap one will do, although most of the time it does not matter, because it goes pretty quick. Use Decrepify as spell because it slows the clone down, or life tap, whatever you wish. Will definitely work like a charm, you gonna start loving them... ;-)
Works btw also for Ubers, just there you have to revive them a few times and the problem might be to find them. Just make sure that you use the WP unless the clone itself is at a WP....because if you use a TP from River of Flame and have to walk back to the clone, the 3 minutes they are revived may have passed already.
(PS. All Blunders have btw crushing blow, wherever you find them, but the Urdars I personally preferred because they have a bit more life but mostly because you find them always easy, at least a few of them, at the River of Flame close to the WP. And ja, they are called "Urdars"...) Enjoy. Really works!
merc prevent monster heal doesn't work. You have to get an open wounds for him.. or just get edge bow / spear and shoot prevent monster heal with the necro itself
It's funny how everyone has their spot for fighting D-Clone. I've always gone straight to the Inner Cloister WP and inside the Cathedral to Bone Ash in spawning him. Always a nice little area that felt great when fighting him.
One of my go to merc weapons for helping with d clone is Hone Sudan. The crushing blow is nuts and the additional three sockets is huge for shael or amn runes. If on a caster you can go lower res wand or life tap wand and your merc will take him down no problem.
For all beginner players I will add because I didn't saw in the video. The easiest cheapest hero which can do all content including Dclone and ubers is SUMMON NECRO. All you need is 2 things Obediances runeword weapon on your merch and treachery runeword. For farming mobs and mf take corpse explosion. In order to kill ubers buy teleport staff with charges or amulet. Skeletons make your merch after teleport on boss basically immune Obediance is really cheap runeword + treachery you need Lem rune. Summon necro is best if we talk for all content on starter hero without need of enigma or infinity bullshits.I forgot to add you also have to summon monsters with crushing blow not sure how they call but you can find them in tal rasha tombs or durance of hate lvl 2 or river of flame they are these big fat monsters which knock you back.
You forgot necros. That's a toughie. Fishymancers and other summoner builds can manage this if they can find a quick easy source of Urdars or other big bruisers. Then it's tele-stomp with a staff and at least a dozen big'uns in tow, then run away a safe distance. The skellies help, but they die steadily. Mages are useless except if you do some tailoring and go with nothing but cold mages; they die fast, but they get off those slowing shots early and it helps.
I learned the hard way that having an Iron Golem aura caddy is just asking for trouble, but a Clay Golem can slow him down a bit. Keeping the merc alive is a problem unless you go Life Tap, but it can be done (CG plus Decrep can be helpful in slowing DClone down enough to where you can feed potions).
Another good budget choice is blood crafted belt for open wounds so you can save your weapon slot for ias/cb like the black runeword
Early on i used the spineripper unique dagger. It has pmh and ignores defense, so easier to hit because my sorc sucks at melee. It allows you yo carry a shield. I used mosers shield with 2 perf diamonds, huge resistances. Also, equip a poison small charm, any amount, when you do hit big D he will turn green and you will know. Nowadays my hydra sorc is lvl 93, merc has infinity and uber d is a pushover.
One of the most underrated weapon on Merc to use is Malice runewords. The open wound will stop his health regeneration
He absolutely traumatized me in my barbs hell play through in the first tomb of act 2 lol. I was fortunate enough to have someone nice enough to join and clear him for me without taxing me the anni. Haven't played d2 in probably over a decade, d2r is pretty damn fun with the updates it's been getting

Playing on PS5, it seems the online notifications also appear on single-player. My take is that the notifications are on to warn the players to jump to an online session if they are on single player but want to get in the event.

I must point out that superchest in Pits of Acheron actually has the highest drop rate for SoJ.
The issue is that the area can appear in 2 different places in Act 5, so it can be a pain to get to.
I must also point out, that poison damage is actually useless against DClone unless one uses Lower Resist or some other method of reducing his resistances. (Since DClone has max resist poison, it does not inherently prevent him from healing unless one lowers his resistances.)

You should mention Kelpie Snare on merc as it makes the fight a joke on any character. Give your merc a Kelpie Snare and a Rattlecage and dclone dies while moving like a sloth.
1 - Trigger Dc
2 - Go to act V and take the waypoint to Frigid Highlands.
3 - Go straight to Eldritch the Rectifier, DC will spawn on his place.
4 - Lure DC next to Shenk the Overseer who happens to be right next to Eldritch.
5 - Kill Shenk the Overseer. When he dies everything around him dies instantly. DC included.
6 - Profit.
This is how we did it back in the day.

Had a dClone spawn the other day. I equipped my A2 Merc with a Kelpi Snare (slows monsters 75%) and equipped a Nature's Peace ring (prevent monster heal). With that combo he was very, very, easy. My Merc didn't even die.
Well, I guess it's just my problem since nobody else seems to mention this in comments, but this guide didn't work. I am offline, I spent time looking for SoJ and when I sold it, I got message "An item has been sacrificed to the Lord of Terror" but uber didn't spawn. I then found some guide saying you need to type /uberdiablo, so I did and got "Online: Terror gazes upon Sanctuary" but that did nothing either. I am kinda sad that I lost that soj just like that :D

If you have a chance simply try to spawn diablo in the chaos sanctuary just clear out the seals and diablo dies. any class can do this.

Just encountered D Clone as my lvl 66 Hydra Sorc a couple days ago. Had to farm all of act I and II to find a 3 socket bow for Edge. Luckily I spawned him in the Lost City which had no fire immunes. With his 95% fire resistance it took forever.
I like to fight D Clone at the Den of Evil. Not a large area, monsters are not dangerous, and you can use the map to hide around close by if needed (so that PMH is not reset). The only problem is that you need to walk a bit to get to the den and then walk some more to find the D Clone.
I actually killed him with my Trapsin yesterday. I was keeping a Malice claw in my stash just so I could try it and he finally walked yesterday, it worked like a charm.
I'm surprised you didn't mention the javazon! She can melt Dclone with charged strike, it only takes a few hits. I use Dracul's Grasp for the open wounds, and Marrowwalk to cast life tap.
Once I killed him with a budget javazon - it wasn't easy as my damage was low and it was hard to outpace his regeneration - but I finally did it. The prevent monster heal trick would make this a very easy job.
My favorite is to use durance lvl 3... he replaces the council members and is stuck on the moat island if you approach from the side.
I didn't know he could spawn on any unique... everyone just told me to go to Eldritch... I am totally fighting him in the Palace Cellar now!

It's more gear dependant. I think there are some videos of sub lvl 12 toons clearing clone but if your gear is mediocre lvl 80-85? Also experience helps with confidence.
So, I did this twice last ladder. I'm a Trapsin main and killing Dclone is a pain and probably impossible. But I managed to gear up a Barbarian merc with Grief, Death, 100% crushing blow. The merc solo'd Dclone but the only catch is that I needed to feed him potions, lots of potions.
I have a very good spot, Inner Cloister where Bone Ash spawns, mobs there are ez pz, unless your physical damage and there's ghosts lol...

Last ladder I've been doing dclone with only 1 skill point in smite, a g-face, and a bunch of full rejuv pots. It doesn't take much to down him.

Also remember that deadly strike doesn't work with smite, only crushing blow and open wounds.
D-clone spawning in the small room that at the viper temple end is funny and frustrating if you were trying to get the necklace.
First time I faced diablo on my 70~ necro summoner I was surprised how fast he went down... would have died in like 5 secs if my merc hadnt died, he was the one doing bulk of the damage with obedience runeword weapon. Still managed to kill him with skeletons, and no prevent monster heal needed o_O
Obedience has crushing blow.. that says it all I suppose. It was still kinda surprise.
I wish I saw this vid a month ago when after 2 years of playing, saw my first dclone popped in zone. I ended up just logging out knowing my weak geared Barb was no chance. I've seen maybe 2 messages total on playstation about SOJ's being turned in

I had a javazon with malice on swap. Took around 3 trips back to town but finally got my 1st dclone ❤️
Killed him with blizz sorc. Applied PMH with a sword of all things xD
And yeah, he full regened like 4 times total before I went online and found out you can't go too far from him or that you have to reapply PMH when coming back from town.
And also fire res shrine spawned next to him so it was super useful in staying alive. Happy hunting guys!~
You sure you needed to? First time I did him was on my MF Frozen Orb sorc. I fucked around for ages trying to get PMH on him. I eventually realized I could quite easily kill him by just just spamming Orb on him, no PMH needed. That sorc didn't even have any synergy points, just 20 Orb and 20 Mastery.
I did him first ladder on my 1pt smiter with like barely any cblow, and no lifetap. I had butcher's pupil on swap for open wounds and I think atma's scarab for amp damage. It was a little rough and I was on switch
Poison prevents healing too and you can deal that from revives (from Harmony) with poison attack or a bow with 6perfect emeralds.
Took out DClone with a high level merc (85+) equipped with Andariels, Insight and Duress. Kept him going with a life tap and some full rejuvs. The merc eventually died but was able to take out DClone's final sliver of health with Bone Spear.

First time I encountered dclone was farming the countess. Instead of her being there it was a dclone, so I tried and died a few times before I killed him. I kind of cheated because I would go back and forth through town so I can get potions, lol. At least I got an annihilus.
i was a big d2 fan and thinking about to return since there is a discount atm. But i am not a big fan of these ladder resets cus i dont have that much time play the game is it worth to play single player are the runeworlds and stuff like that the same ? or is there any option to save ladder characters to single player when ladder reset coming ?
All ladder released items are avaliable the following season to the regular online chars. There's still a healthy list of online public lobbies sharing items on psn

play smiter kill dclone at level 60, as soon as you start hell, easy af ; ) you dont need anything special, i didnt even have prevent monster heal. my gear was spirit shield, black flail, smoke armor, lore helmet, goblin toe and laying of hands, and just life and res for rings and amulet. i tped 6-7 times, and the last 5% took way too long cause i didnt have prevent monster heal but smiter s just broken when fighting bosses

It's actually not that bad. Even today clo e pings 1 or 2ce a month just look for the ip online. I have maybe 20 Anni now and actually got one first day I played
Bliz sorc can farcast on him and kill him really easy, just keep him in the top corner of the screen and cast blizzards on him, if he comes closer tele away, rinse and repeat.
I found this on pluggy, just killed pindle when the ground started shaking, had just got a lvl up so had nothing to lose if i died.
Spawned him at rakanishu, didnt even swap out my mf gear, was just gonna have some fun with it, but the 10-12k dmg blizzard chonked him down really well, no need to stop him from healing, just keep your distance and keep casting bliz.
Probaly more farcasters that can do this.

you always say CB is for melee characters...CB is also an option for bowzones using strafe or guided arrow.
I think they have changed this. Last night when I entered the game (and again today), I saw a message in brown similar to how the corrupted terror zones form, and I thought maybe the cow level was the corrupted zone. When I went to get the leg from Trist, D clone was waiting in Stoney Field. It was too hard has he kept healing so fast. I finally shopped a PMH sword from charsy in town, but even with this the PMH wouldn't stay applied for more than 2 minutes and he would start healing again. I thought maybe the new Sunder charms were causing this bug, but I took them off and it was the same problem. I have a cold sorc so it was impossible to kill him at the end I finally had to give up after loosing tons of gold and experience. Pretty bummed about that. Now I'm wondering tho, how has this spawn changed? Does anyone know? I never saw any messages about SOJ sold etc.
I believe if dclone isn't active like if you run too far or go to town then you will need to reapply the PMH once more or the next damage it takes without PMH will cancel it.

You should spend 2 extra skill points. 1 on smite and 1 on Fanaticism, use those instead of hammers and conc, rest is all gear.

when u going down on the countess totally clueless, that these clone is waiting there, instead of the countess and u have no clue that this scenario even exist. Never heard of it. After 40 min of tears, sweat and a dozend merc death i got him down. Oh btw the dia clone can get through the doors, so he wont stuck in the countess room!

Ive had him spawn like five times in the past two weeks without me selling the ring.
Got a dclone spawn and my sorc couldn't do more than 10% damage.
I had an interesting experience with d clone(my only experience). I was farming hell baal. I had just gone through his first wave. He summons wave 2 and out come diable. Im like wtf lol. Took a second to realize what happened. He murdered my merc in seconds. Once i realized what happened i kept summoning my assassin shadow to distract him while i set my traps and dodged his physical attacks by hiding behind the pillars. He died slowly and i earned my first anni.

Playing single player, First Hell run. I have ran into him twice in act 2. Didn't do anything.
It was surprisingly easy to kill him with my bowazon last time I played D2R. Obviously had Guillame's face :)
How do people track d clone? One popped in my random farming game and within a minute 7 people joined and found me instantly…
Diablo spawns at the first super unique you go to. So there's only so meant places to check. Also if they auto party when they join game, they can instantly see exactly where you are.
@@SweetPhil yeah but how do they find out my game name? There’s no indicator in games list for dclone right? Do they have some way of seeing all games on a server or something?
@@Uncle19 dclone spawns in all active lobbies, they probably just went down the list. there is no tracking on separate lobbies. you need to password protect your game to prevent this.

Any lightning character can kill dclone when using a lower res wand lol just wack them with something that has prevents monster heal and then cast lower res on him

another kinda easy way is to clear out chaos sanc. and save the storm caster boss for last and jus seal pop him. instant dead diablo clone
