One thing I'd like to mention about doing Countess runs, I've actually found a couple high runes (vex + ohm) from popping random objects inside the Tower Cellar maps (like the crypts/chests). I've also found some pretty sweet uniques (titan's revenge + andy's visage for example) from popping the weapon/armor racks found in the Tower Cellar. All of this during online solo play. My point is: rushing to Countess as fast as possible and skipping everything else isn't necessarily always the best move. This generally applies to most places as well. I like to think of each kill + each object popped is like a roll of the dice to get loot. Most of the time you won't get anything from random chests or armor racks.. but roll the dice enough times and you WILL eventually find good stuff, it's just a game of numbers in the end.
''Isn't necessarily always the best move'" Wrong, it is always the best move since you have no way of telling when wasting your time in the tower will pay off'' I understand how you see it, but it is a false assumption based on bias example. In an pure RNG economy (like Diablo 2), you want to exclusively focus what gives you the best chance at the cost of the smallest amount of time. Can you find awesome gear from killing all the mobs and opening all the chest in the tower going down to countess? YES of course yes! But if a player do 100 hrs of strickly killing the countess and you do 100hrs of killing everything going down, the player that only ran the countless will have much more wealth. It is mathematical. You might not notice it because you are playing the game, but you are wasting a ton of time trying your luck at utimately bad RNG while the other player uses the same time trying his luck at a better roulette table. He will cash in more often than you.
@@LtKregorov yeah this is correct. OP isn't factoring time popping chests or mobs. If the chests are easy and on the way, or if the mob is blocking something/has a lot of exp, of course clearing can be lucrative, but not optimal for drop/time
When going to the tower in Black Marsh…. Always search the immediate area around the waypoint. Many times it will spawn in the immediate area. Instead of just running for a boundary it’s worth it to do a quick circle. It’s not as guaranteed as following the road for the stones in Stoney…. But it’s still beneficial. Also, if you’re gonna do Thresh Socket…. Off to the left there is always a monster shrine. Another quick easy chance at loot or if you need to refill some rejuv’s since a lot of the times you will get champs.

RE: Things dying around Shenk - You can do the same with Andariel. Lure her back toward the double doors and kill her. Everything on the other side of the door will die and drop loot.
Ya, the loot filter business in pd2 opened a lot of people eyes to that. I watch DB miss an ohm that dropped in the other side on the wall when killing Andy. I got an ist that way.
@@SweetPhil for some reason, ohm likes to drop in the catacombs. Found TWO there recently. One in cata lvl 3 from a champ group that was in one of those corner rooms you can bypass altogether if u want. Pretty crazy what you can find if you take the time to look.

Typically when turning left does not lead to the exit then the exit is strange like the one you have and is near the entrance / waypoint. This is especially useful for durance of hate lvl 2 and worldstone keep lvl 2 (Turn right) where this happens often.
For my Frenzy Barb, Ancient Tunnels is my favorite. Reason? Almost impossible for anything to kill you (higher chance to die in Pits and much higher in Chaos). Tons of urns, that you can kick and get some runes, charms and gems. You can also hork. Up to 3-4 shrines. Even online it is worth to search for it, plenty of uniques on the way (and one super unique, Dark Elder). Great advice at the end - just mix it up :)
That’s how Ber rolls. Found my first from a pack of 3 cows that I could’ve just passed right over. Found second from a pack of 5 skeletons at the worldstone keep 2 waypoint they I could’ve passed right over, on a run I nearly didn’t do
Best advice ever. Don't do the 100 runs in a row crap. I try to clear all the hot spots you listed and some others in every game. Sometimes I'll throw in Cows and skip chaos or do Jail levels and Baal. Just playing to have fun.
Some common sense in the D2 community. It's a game, with a lottery ticket give everyone a unique character. The industrial scale farming takes the games soul!

I was just curious about your map. How do we unlock it like it shows all of the map picture or how can we remove the Fog of War? Been searching for answers but I can't find anything.
In the last week farming ancient tunnels I found 3 guls and a sur. I don't play that much. maybe just luck, but I kill everything. my route as a blizz sorc is Andy, Tunnels, Meph, Pindle.
As a cold sorc, I started using static field on cold immunes to bring them down to 50% . Then I try to teleport near to them so my merc can kill them. I also skilled lighting nova up to lvl 20 to help my merc killing the cold immunes. Now I'm clearing way faster and don't have to wait until my merc kills all cold immunes (very helpful at countress )
If you're a blizzard sorc you can still farm countess you just need a strong enough merc to take care of a few of her minions before teleporting ontop of her and letting him kill her. Usually I will teleport to just outside of her room and try and pull her minions out so my merc can kill them before going after her as I have found that just rushing her he becomes overwhelmed and dies because he is surrounded. Also following the road to find the Pit in Tamoe Highlands, around 3:40 that little dip on the road behind him that leads nowhere that will tell u that you are going toward the previous area (black marsh) so if u see the dip turn around and take the other road option. I could be wrong but running pits on my necro and actually walking I found this to be the case majority of the time. Open all the chests in durance 3 (bring keys) I've had decent high rune luck from the chests (not so much the chest behind mephisto so far) even on players 1.
@corey notice how you said “about everything” instead of “everything”??? That’s why. My sorc was decked out as a blizz too before I switched, I know the limitations.
Why no mention of chaos? That’s a static map, lvl 85 area, and act boss all in one. Any new ladder season that’s the first place I try to farm as soon as my merc is beefy enough to handle it. Another good place not mentioned is tal rashas tombs. Each tomb easy to get to, has multiple special monsters, and each one has a shiny chest. High mob density makes it a great high rune farming location as well. I’ve gotten Sur and Ohm in there so far in d2r and that’s in probably less than 100 full tomb runs
True, but chaos takes a bit. If you consider 2-3minutes a "bit".... ;-). However in 2-3 minutes you can do travi, pindle, eldrich, shenk and did he not say 'easy to kill'? Just saying. However Chaos is still preferable over baal, since that takes even longer.

My typical farming route goes Pindleskin, Shenk the Overseer, Eldrich the Rectifier, Ancients Way, Worldstone Keep Level 1, Worldstone Keep Level 2, Worldstone Keep Level 3, Throne of Destruction, and Baal. Sometimes other evel 85 areas Mephisto, and Diablo. My farming is done using a Summining Necromancer.
If I plan to play mostly (like 90%+) solo should I just go ahead and make an offline character instead and play all solo to use the playerX bonuses? Thanks!
What do I have to do so that all the loot in my D2R is clearly displayed after the victory in the room? I have to walk around in such rooms, search for everything individually and hope that I have found everything.
Could you show how to beet the Diablo Clone that drops the anni charm? I have not been able to beat it solo. It would be great to see it on a few builds.
Those trav council members are a nightmare for me on my summonmancer, i can solo farm pretty much everything but those trav hydras just melt my skeletons
So the "go left" or "go right" directions aren't a full picture. In the case of the tower, "go left" really means that the exit tile will be oriented in a way that you'll enter it facing a left direction. This is how the exit could be the opposite way but still *oriented* in a leftward direction.
lol not to pity party but then there’s me and my roommate - best drop between us so far (value wise) has been an ethereal colossus voulge and some skillers after us each getting a sorc to 85 and a Paladin to high 80’s. Luckily I have nice friends who gave me a shako, skin, ohm, good charms, etc and we’re just farming keys and torches for trading now to try and get some gear lol
The pit was good for me. When I first got to hell mode with Sorc, I couldn't kill much because they're all cold immune. So I "rage quit" and started a javazon. Reached hell mode blasting them all with lightning. Got to the pit and struggled with level 2 as practically all of them were lightning immune haha. Unfortunately, or fortunately depending on how you view it. I couldn't just leave the pit and go on. One of the few monsters that got killed dropped my first ever Skin of the Vipermagi and I couldn't just give it up. Fast forward after having died 5 times and wasted hundreds of thousands of gold on reviving my merc, I finally found the Vipermagi. So it was awesome that I got that on my first ever pit run, but it was a massive pain in the ass actually getting it lol. I have the worst luck picking characters. First the awesome sorcerer but now most are cold immune to the point that I can't even clear the Den of Evil to get a reset for skills, then I go and level up javazon, do den of evil etc, then end up at pits and most are lightning immune lol
I been doing orb/lightning sorc and orb does better but lightning damage is getting there maxing out light mastery and skipping cold mastery cuz it doesn't seem to do much
@@beegzz6326 Absolutely. When I finally managed to clear the den of evil I immediately respecced into an orb/lightning hybrid build. Been playing it since then, it's so much fun and clears super fast. I get the occassional dual cold/lightning res on some elites, but my merc clears then fast at least so it's good. I can farm most area for sure. Andariel, pits, mephisto, chaos sanctuary, baal runs and all the key runs. All on the sorc. Super fun.
My run consists of: cows -> countess -> andy -> sorcerer -> meph -> diablo -> pindle -> nihi -> baal. I used to play as blizz sorc but recently switched to firewall orb to be more flexible with immunities. The only downside really is that blizzard is way better for cows so I was thinking of skipping that
I'm in the same boat but since I have no enigma or CTA, I have to skip Baal. I use Network and bruh.....I get nothing....lol. I'm am Ohm away from call to arms and hell mode drops the same crap normal mode does for runes, in my case.
Because of the amount of legendary items I have found in Diablo 3 off of barrels urns and corpses I recommend always hitting everything that can possibly drop it's how I found all my set items so far nothing's dropped off of a boss
I have a question i always struggled to give an answer. What does playing solo literally mean? For example, if you connect to bnet and create a new game outside the lobby (i mean one that only contains my char), is that solo? Or only Offline is solo? Thx
@@SweetPhil so, technically, this means I'm able to set /players7 on bnet and then farm, let s say, cows, get my loot and then trade those, hopefully and luckily found, high runes with other players in the lobby? The reason behind my question is that I've never got the confirmation msg after typing /players 7 on bnet, thus my confusion.
I feel i have to explain this again. I always played offline before d2r and looking on various forums now, ppl say that /players is available in solo only. That s why I'm deeply confused.
I noticed this on another video with uniques, the colors seem off on the item texts. Runes look yellow instead of orange and uniques look nearly white instead of golden. Are you color correcting your videos?

Now I would like to see more videos about quite a few runs and the drops....and also like to see various low cost farm characters (you see almost only Enigma-chars and Infinity etc)...please 👍
Hey Phill, You should differentiate on what platform ur running, cuz many options u speak of are not available on PS4. PC has a LOT more options to get a better chance on the good stuff
Ever since I found a Demonspike in a barrel in Diablo 1 I've always checked everything for the rare item. I get the idea of optimizing time, but it's a bad habit at this point.
I personally run Mephisto, Andariel and Countess on solo online games. Sometimes Cows or Ancient tunnels. My stash is overflowing with Meph and Andy essences lol.
When I run AT and Pit I always kill everything. I have found some uniques drop from normal chode monsters. When I run Arcane I run my Fury Druid. It ensures I kill over the pathways so less runes drop into Santuarys deepest void.

Hold left bumper
@@ianbattiest3448 ah, okay, with a controller ... but I`m playing on PC with m+k
I`ve found it !! = press + hold "Alt"
@@MrJueKa yeah I play console lol
Any tips on finding armor socketed bases? Does players difficulty make the hell level ones drop more, and maybe I should take off all magic find?
Cow level all day, any bases you like will eventually drop
Could you show how to beet the Diablo Clone that drops the anni charm? I have not been able to beat it solo. It would be great to see it on a few builds.
The reason the first level is to the right is because 3 right turns make a left. The left rule follows that rule. Thanks for the video, it's awesome
I did a 100 run on the pits (shitty loots as well) and got your right It drive me insane that I didn't touch the game for 2 days.
Good to know that the tower/countis is best with 1 player. I usually park mules or bring them in tp for the area.
How do you have full map view when the maps reset every time online..
Im not online. Single player.
Thank you for this wonderful video I needed this as for I'm on ps5
Should I farm in normal before heading to NM, or is it a waste? I'm right at Baal.
I can't do normal cow run until I start NM, correct?
Is it better to do Player 7 instead of Player 8
Those trav council members are a nightmare for me on my summonmancer, i can solo farm pretty much everything but those trav hydras just melt my skeletons
Hey sweet phil have you been playing this for the past 20 years? I remember before runewords before the Lord of expansion.
So the "go left" or "go right" directions aren't a full picture. In the case of the tower, "go left" really means that the exit tile will be oriented in a way that you'll enter it facing a left direction. This is how the exit could be the opposite way but still *oriented* in a leftward direction.
I’ve been on players 1 online and found a lot of ggs, Sur, Ber, 3 shakos, griffons that rolled 2 off perfect,Tal ammy and armor, multiple occys.
Nice, it’s actually not as bad as I thought it was. I got a soj from nm Andy under 50 runs 😄 looking for that shake tho.
lol not to pity party but then there’s me and my roommate - best drop between us so far (value wise) has been an ethereal colossus voulge and some skillers after us each getting a sorc to 85 and a Paladin to high 80’s.
Luckily I have nice friends who gave me a shako, skin, ohm, good charms, etc and we’re just farming keys and torches for trading now to try and get some gear lol
Them some nice friends. 👍
S.P. question, what kind of music playlist you got going? Every video you put out, your music is on point. Are you able to share? Thanks in advance
The description of the videos have links to the song or the creator of the songs. Most songs are all from the same person.
How are the maps already fully shown on single player? Maybe it’s because I’m on PlayStation but it doesn’t do that on mine
I also started killing the mobs in the front yard of Pindle. They tend to drop good high level bases in my experience.
So I got D2r. Do I have to connect to battlenet to play offline?
Loving the extra videos :) keep up the good work mate
I been doing orb/lightning sorc and orb does better but lightning damage is getting there maxing out light mastery and skipping cold mastery cuz it doesn't seem to do much
And then also get the hydra with the torch which helps merc in some spots
@@beegzz6326 Absolutely. When I finally managed to clear the den of evil I immediately respecced into an orb/lightning hybrid build. Been playing it since then, it's so much fun and clears super fast. I get the occassional dual cold/lightning res on some elites, but my merc clears then fast at least so it's good.
I can farm most area for sure. Andariel, pits, mephisto, chaos sanctuary, baal runs and all the key runs. All on the sorc. Super fun.
so generally speaking if im solo mfing do i wanna still kill all the champs/uni packs or just tele right to countess/andy
Thx
Just that your the only person in the game.
I run countess with meteorb on /players 1 without infinity and my merc trucks her everytime. I found a jah off of shenks meteors once. Very nice.
Wait ahenks meteors drops shit?
@@Coltensreefing it kills the monsters which drop things
Shenk got me my first Lo, finally Fortitude! But he also did not drop anything for hours
Countess is shiet once you get some good gear. I don’t bother anymore
@@philmarshall6231 same here I run Andy...pindle sucks also
I built your nova sorcerer love it best build I have ever had can kill all and starting to find runes thanks
Hello man LOVE to see your videos Keep On....
What chair you are using looking niceee
KEEP ON
what gear have ur merc?
got a zod rune last weekend from pindle, but even my best char (85 FireSorc)does not even have the rest that comes with the final product, like a base of VeX- like runes.
Other than Static maps for offline, is there any difference in your methods for farming on p1 offline vs online?
Dont skip elites and ghosts in tower, on your way to countess. They can drop good loot, and even ber rune. I found ber in tower from ghosts
I have horrible rng in a solo b net game went to inner cloister to bug merc and found a occy on the dead rogue next to wp went tk outer cloister to head to pit and my merc killed something that dropped a ethy occy before load screen was done havent had a decent droo since
Chaos is life. Found Ohm, Arachnid Mesh, Shako, 5/-5 lite die facet, 3/20 light eschuta and 15% Lightning skill Ormus Robes yesterday alone. Lots of other unmentionables too.
How do you change the player number on bnet?
You can't
Thanks phil! You are doing a great jobs!
finally a video about solo online farming. Thanks a lot for this! If I could, I would give you 3 thumbs up for this! Now I would like to see more videos about quite a few runs and the drops....and also like to see various low cost farm characters (you see almost only Enigma-chars and Infinity etc)...please 👍
Low cost characters : fireball + orb sorc, summoner necro.
Hi Phil I have a summon necro I found some really good items by farming full games act 1 Tru 5 including cow level.at least for me is not as boring.
Hey Phill,
You should differentiate on what platform ur running, cuz many options u speak of are not available on PS4. PC has a LOT more options to get a better chance on the good stuff
I found 5 ber runes, are these things useful?
How can I set the number of players on PS5? Set an online game to 8 players?
Thank again for the infos. Are you comming back to PD2 season 4? Sorry, just can't play D2R without some improvements found on mods.
Ever since I found a Demonspike in a barrel in Diablo 1 I've always checked everything for the rare item. I get the idea of optimizing time, but it's a bad habit at this point.
Thanks for this video topic - really helped me out a lot = )
The only Zod rune I've ever dropped was off a monster beside Shenk that died off screen from the meteor.
Love your videos and content man. Very well explained and helpful. You got a new subscriber today from me. Great stuff
Arnt the two tunnels at Blood Raven top tier for cold sorcs?
Only one, the mausoleum. And its good for fire sorc. It's kind of spread out though.
The archers in the pit can mess you up, the rest I agree with 100%
Died by them once, never went back lmfao
But on ps4 /players x dont work. What then? I done ewrything 300 times and this dont work.
Thank you for this!
Question about the player difficulty…. I try to use the command /players X and it never increases the player size … is there something I’m doing wrong ?
I see nobody has answered you and you've probably found out by now (2 months later), but I'll give it a try anyway. This video focuses on solo online. The player difficulty can only be changed while playing offline singleplayer.
Found a Gul, vex, and ist rune from countess in 300 runs. In addition to plenty of Mal, pul, and lems.
I wanna build a feral druid but this Specc have no mf items is it possible to find high items? Or is it not worth? :)
Any good spots in nightmare?
So bosses drop rate doesn’t change with players 1-8? I’m still confused how do I play solo lol
The act bosses do, the individual super uniques and random boss monsters drop rates do not change eith the players difficulty.
