So innovative and fresh even today. Just look at what he was doing with pedals back then, his sound was prophetic! Absolutely stunning, a complete orchestra of sound with ONE instrument. God bless you, Bill.
It just never ends with Bill. he is so amazing and writes such beautiful material. Thank you so much for posting this very intimate and unique clip of Bill.
strange meeting originally from Power Tools album and somewhere over the rainbow of course... He's an amazing guitarist. I can recognise his sound ...has his own style...:)
His right hand is just ridiculous. It makes no sense at all. But like I've always said, "Don't get good, get different. The good will come on its own." Weird is where it's at.
sorry folks, I can't bring myself to really listen to this stuff. The beginning was very calm and relaxing, beautiful solo jazz guitar, I liked where he was going with it. But the whole constant crazed delay effects to me is just a guitarist indulging in his own coolness--- which is awesome if you're the guitarist! but for me, eh. So can somebody direct me towards some "must hear" Frisell stuff? preferably some stuff that shows his more traditional sound i guess.
Gotta admit, 11 years ago I wasn't so into it, but now I can appreciate the ending a bit more and how cool he managed to pull it off. I still see why I might not have liked it, but I also get why it's special and surprisingly beautiful in how ugly it started off sounding at first. :-) oh music...

Thanks to someone on another vid of the same show who pointed out Bill is using a Digitech Echo Plus 8 Second Digital Delay :)

The more i listen to his music, the more interesting it seems, to me...

@amarr1 i guess traditional jazz. if he does any straight ahead, etc. I've recently found some good stuff, just got to get used to his unique style.
Could anybody post the version on LP "rambler"? I think that's the better one, but I can't find it anywhere! Please!
