He is a wonderful director! He's stern and disciplined but he's not mean or belittling. And so detail oriented. It's very fascinating to watch the artistic process. Love these videos
Alexandra Zarember Yuhui and Fumi should be principals already. I do believe Fumi is going to be promoted very soon, she took over the role of Aurora on a short notice when Lauren was injured.
Everyone is saying the same thing. Yuhui Choe is wonderful and should be a principal dancer. I'm sure the decision is up to Kevin O'Hare, the director, so let's hope he reads all the complimentary comments about her.. Come on, Kevin, give her a break!
Coach Carr is like an amazing combination of fierce, commanding direction and incredibly elegant stride and posture. He's a completely different man from the other dancers.
idk what it is about yuhui but while i can see the effort and hardwork behind the other ballerinas movement, she just makes it look so damn easy and absolutely elegant and gorgeous.
She's so beautiful and I give her props for how well she takes direction. The director's amazing but I can imagine I'd be a bit intimidated myself and even if she may have felt it (same as the others), she's still doing her best and always looking so serene and happy. Her smile is everything :)
I've said this before - of ALL the ballerinas the Royal Ballet chose to fill in for an injured Natalia Osipova as Aurora, they chose Yuhui Choe. That should tell Kevin O'hare something. YUHUI CHOE FOR PRINCIPAL!
You're absolutely right! She's danced many, many principal roles and is probably the most experienced First Soloist in the company. Yet for the past couple of years I've had this feeling that she's getting more and more sidelined as O'Hare seems to prefer younger dancers. It's a shame, really. Not that the other dancers didn't deserve the promotions they got (they surely did) but I expected at least Yuhui to be promoted alongside Alexander Campbell, since their partnership was absolute fire!
@@Jayjen35 I don't wanna say specifics because I actually never saw Yuhui performing a leading role before at the RB, with the exception of her Odette and Odile to when she did Swan Lake in Korea. I wasn't necessarily impressed her in that video but again it's okay to not be sensational at every role and I'm sure she has roles that fits her better. BUT I have read and talked to people that do pay to watch the RB on stage for many many years and some have raised things to why she wasnt promoted to principal ( they were all very respectful btw ). A lot of people here in the comments try for example to bring up that Yuhui was called to fill in for Osipova, and she did, but the feedback from people ( who btw are not necessarily admires of Osipova ) was not great. They said she did a competent job but to compare to a recent case it wasn't no Matthew Ball coming to finish Giselle with Osipova after Hallberg was injured on stage. Meaning it wasn't a revelation. Like I said in a previous comment she also had the bad luck that a LOT of new and exciting talent entered the company during the years of transition of directorship ( from Dame Monica Mason to Kevin O'Hare), and if you look at the female dancers that were promoted to principal they all were below Yuhui. To be honest I think even Choe herself is already settled with her position in the company but I understand her many fans, especially from overseas, to be upset about her not being a principal when one day things seemed so likely to be.
Fumi is amazing. She should have been promoted already. Not just here, but some of the soloists who are being showcased are just not quite where they should be
I miss these videos of practices! It is so beautiful to watch the practices. Can’t help but makes me appreciate the work that goes behind each show I watch.
What a brilliant rehearsal. It’s so nice to see so many of the soloists dancing at once. They all did a great job and it was good to see Sam and Gary working with Christopher Carr. A fabulous team effort in fact 😊
"When your man is coming to you, surely you would have a tiny little glint in your eye!" If the guy on the end of the line at 11:28 was walking towards me, that would not be a problem! ☺️☺️
This part is so satisfying "....and the one.....head head...show!...." it's so freaking amazing how good these dancers are. 😍😍😍😍 hands down really 👏👏👏👏
Sleeping Beauty has such a wealth of beautiful music. This isn't even one of the more important scenes, but the music is wonderful. Definitely my favorite of the three Tchaikovsky ballets.
why do i find this so motivational hahah. i love watching ballet and i'm struggling to focus on uni work at the moment but watching this and knowing how long they practise for is so motivating wow!
What a joy to watch and listen, the ballet master has such patience! The dancers are all amazing and so dedicated and focussed. This would’ve been my dream job 💗
Samantha Raine is just awesome. I could watch her coach all day. And isn't this fairy section of the Prologue -- with the solo clarinet -- the most beautiful thing imaginable in ballet?
This video was so good, it had all the things to love, great pianist, attractive people, fabulous campy ballet master , my favourite music , good dancing , beautiful lead dancer , what more could you ask for
Am I the only one that noticed at 10:45 when they paused that one ballerina didn’t get up from the guys knee😂😂 No shade but I was just seeing if I’m the only one that noticed😂 I love these dancers and loved watching the rehearsals 😍❤️❤️❤️
The whole lot of them are future stars - Mayara Yuhui Fumi Beatriz Anna who did I miss? Nichols has filled out a lot since that Cechetti adagio. Oh Claire Calvert. I didn’t mean to but. Claire is awesome
These rehearsals videos make me so sooo soooo happy! It is my biggest dream to do ballet and express myself through this artform, but I discovered it way too late... For some reason, those videos make me feel included
@@BingusEdits6501 I'm 20 now I took a few ballet classes when I was 18. COVID disrupted everything. can we give a round of applause for Paul please. mans is working HARD TOO
I agree, I can hardly appreciate the rehearsal without Paul playing the piano.
*applause*
As a pianist myself, Paul is the one I appreciate the most. The rest is all foreign to me lol
The non-verbal communication between the dancers is priceless.
Paul Stoddart is an incredible accompanist. I’d pay to listen to him play the entire ballet on the piano.
Stobart
Me too! I almost like it better than a full orchestra.

the royal ballet is a very smart company, they might be an incredible talent but if they are still a student there is a reason
do you know if she was, I definitely think she should
