High Quality content ! The hardest thing in gw2 is setting yourself goals. Understand how the game operates and you have thousands of hours ahead. otherwise you'll quit after 50h
Firat time I played gw was last year. Liked the game and buyed the expansion, and used the lv 80 pack in my ranger... it was so overwhelming and so much information, that after 30 hours of playing i quited... now i returned, with a new fresh ranger and a focused mind... running into 230h of gameplay, exploring the world and having lottofun.
Gw2 has no tools for actual “make your own fun” sandbox gameplay. It’s just deciding between which of the 1000 menial tedious chores you want to do to collect tacky cosmetics.
yeah once i hit lvl 80 i was really confused, i didnt really understand how the endgame content works. Turns out its way simpler than i thought. just doing wvw and fractals has been a blast the last few days, and i havent even touched hot or poe content.
Gw2 is not made for efficiency farming, it's made for casual playing. At least, that's how I play and never had issues with anything in the game. When expansions hit I just casually stroll and explore everything, learning slowly what the expansion added along the span of months. Don't burn it "efficiently" in 2 weeks or you are back on stage 0 of "waiting for content" like many people do. That's my advice.
@@taserrr I guess so, but sometimes doing that removes the fun out of the game. Some games are impossible to be played for "fun" due to the predatory farming mechanics like "kill 1000 enemies to level up, die once to lose exp" (lineage, as example). It feels like a job if you do that and while some enjoy it, not the majority of people. In gw2 luckily this doesn't happens so you can just... have fun at your own pacing. Personally, I say this because I've seen people burn the content in 3 months and leave the game, bored. In the meantime I know dozens that play for fun and ignore efficiency and they have been playing for 8 years. What would you choose, 3 months of fun or 8 years of fun? don't we play videogames to have fun?
@@CozNothingIsForever You don't understand what fun is. I've seen plenty of comments like yours all over different videogames. Some people enjoy going hard on a game for a few weeks or months and moving on to something else, there's nothing wrong with that. You assume these people aren't having fun but they are, otherwise why would they play.
@@taserrr You seem to contradict to yourself. Apparently, GW2 is enjoyable for the casual as well as the hardcore, efficiency obsessed players and those situating in between on the whole scale.

Your conclusion was really great, like while watching the video I was like "dayum this game is huge, so much idk". But we have to start somewhere, just doing the things we're able to and manage to decently enjoy. Only longtime players (or players with a lot of time) would manage to do EVERY single thing on this list, so I'll do it on my own pace and have fun. It's a great guideline, thanks again for the wisdom Teapot ;)
During times of hard grinding, I managed to craft 5 legendaries in a year. This included a lucky precursor drop in WvW. And of course I had a lot of stuff in my bank from years of PvE, but I missed all the time-gated stuff. It was fun to grind, but nowadays I can't spend that much time on the game. If you play WvW a lot, then get the legendary backpack. It is much easier to acquire than the other legendaries in my opinion, as it doesn't require map completion. I went to WvW because of my first legendary, and essentially got addicted to that mode.
@@7head7metal7 i played gw2 from release on, with some breaks, 14,212 hours to this day and never a precursor drop. on the other hand, i know people that only played 1 year, had like 500 hours in the game and got 2 drops from event chests. the difference is so big, that i cant explain it with luck only. it feels like, the game lower your chances, the more time you spend ingame, as in "dont make a farmer even richer"

Yeah, mistlock was sooo worth it. You can teleport to it from anywhere. Much better value than buying 5 different airship passes or whatever they're called
I just hope the servers are more stable at the release of End of Dragons. I remember at the release of Path of Fire I kept getting disconnected every 10 minutes and my map progression would be set back and I had to do a lot of things over again.
This is all so overwhelming as a new player, I have so much things to do, finishing living world, getting gryphon, getting ascended gear, my head hurts when I think about it, some old time players took YEARS to get all that 😔😭
Play at your own pace. Do what you enjoy. For example i wanted to try raiding. Literally killed the hardest bosses now but havent even started the Path of Fire storyline XD Guild Wars is awesome because you can do what you want and it always rewards you. Just enjoy the journey.
Idk if you'll see this, but I totally recommend getting the skyscale instead of the Griffon. Griffon's are more expensive to get in the long run (I think it costs around 200 gold), and I definitely didn't have that kind of money, but was able to do the Skyscale, which was mostly just farming and scavenger-hunting. Definitely don't worry about this video, becuase you don't actually need to do any of this. Enjoy the game organically, and play at your own place. I have played at least 13 characters, got them all to 80 by just doing the story, and I still enjoy walking them through all the living world. Cantha will always be there, no need to rush :)
10/11 check I'm almost ready!!! but I don't get why would we wanna burn though the expansion in no time when we have been waiting for it for over a year .. then quickly complain about no content ..!? but anyway nice video.
Rushing through the expansions has absolutely no bearing on the lack of content in GW2. It doesn't matter if I take 5 hours to do the expansions, or 20 hours. The game needs R E P L A Y A B L E C O N T E N T. The story missions aren't challenging, and the rewards they provide are minimal, (and the story isn't good enough to warrant a replay other than maybe a few years down the line). The lack of replayable content is why the PoF maps are ALWAYS DEAD. Same with LS3 maps, and the LS4 maps. The HoT maps will almost always have someone try to organize the meta, the PoF maps you gotta pray someone is running a meta train otherwise you aren't doing that meta. Source: a guy who spent a week trying to do the Jahai Bluffs meta for Vision.
@@ghostymytoasty7007 if they cant do that in gw1 why are we expecting they will do it in gw2? That is what i hate in gw1 and gw2. In gw1 they added a henchman so you can have a companion to do old content that nobody play anymore.
@@AonyjsViolmlar05 If they can't do what? Make replayable content? Buddy I've played through GW1 countless times lol, the story content is actually difficult and enjoyable. And there is a lot of stuff in the game that still to this day gives me issues beating. I've replayed the GW1 story more times than I've replayed personal +HoT +LS2 +LS3 + LS4 + Icebrood stories, and for reference I have both Vision and Aurora. So I've replayed them more times than I ever wanted to. GW2 story mode you can beat by doing nothing other than auto attack, never even need to set your slot abilities or heal ability. PvE is the same, the only difficulty I get is when I try to solo high level fractals or trying to solo raid bosses (Getting pretty close on cairn, just need a better strategy for when it hits enrage mode) both of which modes I mentioned get an update once every other year if they are lucky. HoT maps are the only metas I will ever regularly do. Core story metas you can sleep through and win (anyone remember pre nerf Teq/Triple trouble? I do). Also GW1 henchmen were in the game at launch... even when there was 100s of people in every town in the game, henchmen existed buddy.
Uggg... I have stopped playing because I overwhelmed and just tired of the constant grinding to get the material. 🙁 That's why I'm here so I can catch up cause I'm lost

you should go for what you want. The thing is if you famr first your legenday gear then you don't have to waste more money or time in other gear and you can focus all of your attention on those sweet skins XD
@2:53 You said to unlock the gliding masteries. I get that, but WHAT ELSE? I don't even know what masteries TO be working on. (Note: I only have the first mount so maybe I'm missing some masteries(?))
For lazy ppl like myself, portable provisioner is the fastest way to ger big spender whenever it’s active, and it’s really easy to fet for anyone who has even touched wvw once or twice
Monster energy? heresy. only redbull in this house. But i do like your emphasis on having fun here. This is the most important thing. It doesn't matter how big the numbers are if you are not having fun.
Yeah, that's a big part of my philosophy that's why I didn't list some other stuff that I consider unfun in this video. Everything here is stuff that I'm actively doing and I think can be easily fit into a schedule without impacting other activities much.
Of all of this advice, I'd advise the skyscale, but that's about it. Thankfully gw2 is one where you won't be punished for playing on exotic armour/trinkets rather than ascended or legendary. Only one of my 7 current toons is fully tricked out ascended wise, and I'm taking them in order one at a time to work on each one, get them all to ascended, then get each one to legendary. It's not a race :) Just enjoy the game.
Me too. Ascended armor and jewelry on every tune. Extra sets for stat changes. Multiple Ascended versions of every weapon. Still haven't made one legendary... The real problem is that I don't like gaudy fantasy skins. I like the realistic low fantasy look. Every legendary looks absurd to me.
@ISPY4ever is that what I should do? Played my power reaper last night for the first time in awhile and found I'm only doing half the damage I used to. I dunno what they nerfed but it sucks now.
I am strapped in. My eyes are pried open. I have cancelled my lunch appointment and rescheduled my squash booking for Friday. I am ready for more Teapot.
I will work on everything that will make my experience in the new expansion go smotther, but everything that will make that experience go faster I'm going to avoid. I want to take the new content in a slow pace to enjoy it for as long as I can :)
I agree with you for the most part...EXCEPT for the participation on the new maps. If you're within the first month it's probably going to have a lot of people. But in my experience, I waited 6 - 12 months before I got Heart of Thorns and doing those maps solo was a nightmare (since barely any players were out there). So just something to think on
Being level 80 with exotic equipment is more than enough to enjoy any content the expansion brings if EoD is anything like the previous two, so don't worry. Play at your own pace and have fun.
Anet did confirm this years ago, however they have not given an update on a timetable in quite a while. There are dev posts and threads about it on the forums.
Hi I am not that new to guild wars but I till this day don’t know how to get huge amounts of gold. On average I make around 15 to 20g per day so I am just wondering if you got any tips.
This necessity to have everything on day one or as fast as possible is in great detriment to the enjoyment of the game. It's a strange culture we live in.
I just don't want to have anything stopping me from enjoying the gameplay, biggest part for me is legendary gear - I want to be able to try out all the new builds instantly!
Different people find enjoyment in different things. I'll explore everything and do as many achievments as i can starting from the first map until i get tired
@@MightyTeapot thats so very true But my biggest question mark is how long one must farm to get 4000+ gold Is it worth to compensate the loading times?

yeah there's definitely something nice about unlocking stuff while playing that's how I usually do it too although just through map completion I think this time I already have more than enough hero points, maybe I'll play on an alt character first this time
I wish you had a list of this written somewhere. because i forgot the first half by the end because my brain is too stupid to remember all of it. its a wonderful guide still!
First time seeing a Teapot TH-cam vid. So weird to hear him talk normally compared to his twitch streams .
ye his voice sounds so different wtf! I was like is this even tpot???
Legendary runes and sigils can be used in the arsenal aswell? Time to craft them:)
With mistlock sanctuary pass key im 1 loading away from most services available in the game, completely negating my need to buy permanent contracts with the exception of the hairstyle one.
3 pieces left for legendary armor and im set
congrats!
Got the bank contract for 3k gold. Now I'm fully prepared with my nearly infinite shared inventory slots :D
omg i didnt know about the salvage thing, that is insanely convinient
This is all so overwhelming as a new player, I have so much things to do, finishing living world, getting gryphon, getting ascended gear, my head hurts when I think about it, some old time players took YEARS to get all that 😔😭
Isn't that cool to have years of content in front of you ? I envy new players who have so much to do and discover
Play at your own pace. Do what you enjoy. For example i wanted to try raiding. Literally killed the hardest bosses now but havent even started the Path of Fire storyline XD
Guild Wars is awesome because you can do what you want and it always rewards you.
Don't forget to buy other boost fireworks, new years tends to be dirt cheap and can be stacked for several hours worth easily
Has there been an ETA on this? I want to plan when I want to come back.
I didnt knew u could use the copper machine from the shared inv slots... o m g the ammount of time this will save me now
5:40 im sorry new players but that's how we talk in gw2
10/11 check
I'm almost ready!!!
but I don't get why would we wanna burn though the expansion in no time when we have been waiting for it for over a year .. then quickly complain about no content ..!?
but anyway nice video.
It's called being an average mmo player haha
Thanks so much for this list! I am super amped for the new expansion!!
So let me get this straight, ppl should do all of this to rush through the expansion and then complain there's not content in gw2. Rigth.
I know right. I know people that do that shit. Then they complain and say its dying.
@@ghostymytoasty7007 heroes i meant not henchmen. Still gw1 old content is a ghost town after people are done with it.
Ive never really felt behind in this game. I really dont farm and im really a solo player for the most part.
MightyTeapot when the expantion comes: ''I am Boost''
You didn't mention getting all the mounts.
Uggg... I have stopped playing because I overwhelmed and just tired of the constant grinding to get the material. 🙁 That's why I'm here so I can catch up cause I'm lost
@@SynnJynn The skyscale grind was alot but it's well worth it. If you visit the LW4 maps everyday and do the hearts you'll get there eventually.
Now if I just had more down time and didn't get so distracted when I do have time...
Given how the Icebrood Saga ended, the best way you could prepare for any future content patch would be to set your expectations really really low :O
@9:05 you lost me. What's the point of buying n salvaging Extoplasm? (Watching on a phone so I can't see everything on screen)
6:21 Nice lvl u got there buddy
There are so many other things I want to buy that I can't seem to see myself starting on legendary items anytime soon. Like mount skins, unlimited farming tools and expanding my material storage. 😭
you should go for what you want. The thing is if you famr first your legenday gear then you don't have to waste more money or time in other gear and you can focus all of your attention on those sweet skins XD
Just work a couple hours of overtime and buy it
i really hope end of dragons is like double the better than the first 2 expansion
I saw no mention of Alliances from ANET. Does Teapot have an insider perhaps? Hmm.
Did we get confirmation about adding the Tengu as a playable race?
I've done and this and full legendary. What now? Make the time go faster!
@2:53 You said to unlock the gliding masteries. I get that, but WHAT ELSE? I don't even know what masteries TO be working on. (Note: I only have the first mount so maybe I'm missing some masteries(?))
great video. What build do you use on your ranger?
For lazy ppl like myself, portable provisioner is the fastest way to ger big spender whenever it’s active, and it’s really easy to fet for anyone who has even touched wvw once or twice
Thanks for sharing a high quality video about this things lets start the way to End of Dragons
Coffee!
Im ready except for the fact that im not
That makes two of us.....
5:40 and i thought that guild chat of guild where i am is sometimes confusing
I back now after years ( before hot ) , I only have 64 birthday boost.. im still in time to get some of all these stuff for expansions? T.T
I really hope Necro gets guns for some great ranged single target burst
You were right...
Wait, Alliances are coming? Did I miss something? I didn't read any word resembling Alliances in any of the announcements...
I'm already fully ascended! I'm good!
@@Andrew-zq3ip that is why we have the wardrobe. My Predator looks like the Perfected Rifle.
What would u do if new stats are released.
@ISPY4ever is that what I should do? Played my power reaper last night for the first time in awhile and found I'm only doing half the damage I used to. I dunno what they nerfed but it sucks now.
I don't even have a legendary weapon and I've been playing since GW2 has been out
I only have one, and same. Takes so much time!
00:44 by ogden's hammer, what savings
Why added alliances if we havent a single update in years?
you can easily solo the hot hp s though just get good tanky dps build
I am strapped in. My eyes are pried open. I have cancelled my lunch appointment and rescheduled my squash booking for Friday.
I am ready for more Teapot.
spiraling into madness, thanks for the tips, teapot
Nice guide!
Alliances with the expansion LOL, I'll believe it when I see it. Been waiting 86.2 years..
I'm new to GW2 (2nd day) and I'm wondering if it's worth it to F2P. Not sure about buying in yet but def will if the game sticks with me.
Oh... Nice list! I think i have a job to do! hihi
See ya on the battlegrounds! Thanks for help with a list to do! O7
So just something to think on
What use do laurels even have other than ascended trinkets?
Materials Boxes
Thanks., a good heads up
:( but I just got to level 80 and still doing my story. I will never be ready.
Being level 80 with exotic equipment is more than enough to enjoy any content the expansion brings if EoD is anything like the previous two, so don't worry. Play at your own pace and have fun.
6:38 is that really happening? Where did Arenanet confirmed this?
Anet did confirm this years ago, however they have not given an update on a timetable in quite a while. There are dev posts and threads about it on the forums.
Hi I am not that new to guild wars but I till this day don’t know how to get huge amounts of gold. On average I make around 15 to 20g per day so I am just wondering if you got any tips.
Hi, I can really recommend you a TH-camr named "Cellofrag". He has the best gold guides out there!
I wanted to get back in GW2 after a long break, but I've watched the whole video. I don't want it anymore. Thank you.
Hello! What is the third item at 8:32? Thanks in advance.
it is perma teleport to friend!
@@MightyTeapot what a fast answer! Thanks.
Did he say, alliances :D ?
how could i join your guild?
How to prepare for the expansion: play wvw and save the rewards for later
what is the 3rd item in the shared inventory slot?
runecrafter salvage kit
Great video! Will share it about!
Good stuff!
what's a black lion key?(cries in Belgian)
What's the damage meter you use pls? (minute 6:00)
Arcdps!
Great vid cheers!
Is the permant bank access really worth it?
Especially if someone already has bastion or mistlock sanctuary access?
nah, its mostly for rich as barons
I use it a lot along with all the other perma contracts, think of all the saved loading screen time!
@@MightyTeapot thats so very true
But my biggest question mark is how long one must farm to get 4000+ gold
Is it worth to compensate the loading times?
I don't currently have any of the permanent contracts but whenever I make a new character I use the golem pretty frequently. My friends that have it say that it's like having a ton of shared inventory slots.
@@Cross_111 Haha it's a big old grind but that is QoL in GW2!
