Titan Quest is just as old and has been kept updated for several years. It's good to see Age join the club. One of my favorite franchises, especially the third one.

I love the Age of Empires franchise but AOE3 is my favorite game. I’m so thankful to Microsoft and the dev team for continuing to work on this amazing game. I will buy any DLC that releases for AOE3 and AOE2 because I’m happy to support any current and future employees working on the games. May AOE live forever!!!

Age of Empires 3 Definitive Edition, needs to add more new civilizations such as:
• Brazilian civilization
• Korean civilization
• Zulu civilization
• Persian civilization
• Siamese civilization
• Vietnamese civilization
I was really afraid that the Italians and the Maltese would be broken to kingdom come given how many gimmicks each civ has. However, upon trying them out yesterday, they feel very balanced and are very fun to play. I think this is the best DLC so far. I am unspeakably grateful that so many years in, this game keeps evolving and growing in such interesting ways.
The most advanced and beautiful game in the series better than ever, and I look forward to more in the future. Thanks developers.
While I thought the same a while ago, AoE2 is better in nearly every aspect. Balancing is awesome and the pace is much more consistent. The campaigns offer less gameplax variety, but they are much longer and have an enormous amount of missions.
It would be great if AoE 3 would add more campaigns for the new civilizations and if they would include the new game modes.
Don't get me wrong, I do love both games. But from a long term perspective, single- and multiplayer are better in AoE2.
And of course I'm going to buy the expansion. Maybe only from the store, but maybe from Steam, too.
@@jonasklose6472 The problem with AOE-3 content is that it is more difficult to develop. AOE-3 campaigns have cutscenes and all that, which is why they are so few and so short. I hope to receive more campaigns for AOE-3 DE in the future.

The current campaigns have cutscenes, yes. But simple in-game cutscenes aren't that hard to do. Most of the AoE3 cutscenes are very basic and can be recreated in minutes.
Even if that was too much work, you could skip the cutscenes all together and just do the campaigns in AoE2 style. I don't think anyone of the AoE player community would complain.
@@jonasklose6472 AoE2 civs are barely distinguishable from eachother. Aoe2 might be the better competitive game, but god is it so much more boring.

I whould like to share some ideas, it could be nice to see poland-lithuania or persia in the game, and even the vietnamese, polynesians or majapahit considering the role that the empires had in the colonial age, not only expanding and rival another empires, but having influence on their own, and also very unique cultures and possibilities in the game, it also would be nice to have maps of Europe.
Majapahit really did not last long after Hayam Wuruk and Gajah Mada tho. At least I don't remember them surviving long enough to meet the Portuguese or the Dutch
@@Handepsilon welp it lasted more than the Aztecs and had relations with China, and if we had México and the United States in the exploration age i dont tink it whould be such an acurracy or inmersion breaker.
Good news! Poland-Lithuania did actually kinda get added in this DLC in the form of the Royal Houses, which is the "native trading post" on the new European maps.

@@ruiz1358 as an Indonesian, I would rather suggest Aceh Sultanate than Majapahit because they had relations with Ottoman Empire and lasted longer (1496-1903).

@@michelbrouillette1235 there was an add on but with same graphics as far as I remember. Hoping for a ground up remaster like Aoe 2 with hd textures, models and stuff
I love that game but there was like a massive population limit. What it needs is a remake rather than making a 4K version.
It's not happening. Game's too old and out dated. Better to make another AOM game itself at this point. Which would be nice.

this is an absolutely amazing dlc, i am loving it and can recommend it to everyone.
Great attention to detail, lots of time, care and love has been put into it.
Loads of new ways that will influence the game, absolute stellar work and i hope we can expect many more of these types of dlc in the future, thankyou!
It's wonderful that you are still working in AOE III, I think this is the game with the most wasted potential in the franchise, we need new campaigns, there are a lot of human history between XVII and XIX centuries that can be covered in this game, it could be as successful as AOE II.
That's the 17th and 19th centuries for everyone who agrees that roman numerals should only be used from 1 - 10 if you must use them at all.

i wish there was more work on variety in architecture to make the factions truly unique, but other than that the work they have done is great. i never have hope for remasters as they usually stray from the original games but age of empires remasters have been phenomenal.

Age of Empires 3 used to be and remains one of my favourites RTS games of all time. Now the only factions I really want to see in this game are Ukrainian Cossack Hetmanate, Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, Tatars, Persians and Austrians. Please, make it happen🙏

They did fix the British, you can now convert your bowmen to rangers. But I agree, I hate to have no musketeers for germans and dutch... It doesn't make sense for the Prussians since they were known for their large columns of line infantry... Now you have weird wooden wagons and weak skirmishers

Its so weird to see the Malteses and the Italians in the actual game after playing them in WoL for so long, feel the same way with the US and the Incas.

It would be great to see a Balkan dlc. Serbs, Bulgarians, Greeks, Montenegro aka the Balkan League and Romania. Give Italian red shirts as a merc card to the League and Albanian volunteer’s to both them and the Ottomans which would make for nice Balkan war themed skirmishes.

Very nice dlc ! More historical explorer skins ,new matchlock and wheelock pistol and arquebus and keep on the pike and shot vibe you got from Malta and early Swedes pretty please.
The fact that AOE3 continue on getting dlc this big is marvelous .Keep them going and I will keep on buying.
This game looks so much better than Aoe4. I can't believe how the Aoe4 devs downgraded their game to such poor mobile game graphics... The early showcase was promising but they downgraded everything. And the zoom is terrible for an RTS game. Aoe3 already offers multiple zoom levels and the entire community has been asking for the same in Aoe4. I wish this game was more popular and it was in the position Aoe4 is in. Because this game really deserves it.

Indeed. I've tried AoE4 and the worst was that it didn't *feel* like an AoE game. It felt like something completely different. Everything feels strange. The hot keys, the way you build your civilization, the lack of possible strategies. Are you even able to do a DRUSH or a FLUSH? To me, there's nothing in the game that would encourage this.
The age of empires 3 DE was developed by forgotten empires and tantalus and the age of empires 4 was made by relic

Two things, dear developers:
First, you enabled this awesome option to change the colours manually. Please use it to get rid of these terribly unreal, bright, eye hurting colours and change it to something that could actually fit into time! And second, we no have Italians and Maltese which is very amazing, but we still miss Austria and Poland?! I mean I like this new DLC but again: we still miss Austria and Poland, main players of this time period. Please finally make an DLC for those two.

So you start off with crossbow men and pikes then age up and move onto gun powder

Story mode is from 1565 Seige of Malta - 1876 Battle of Little Big Horn. If you include Asian Dynasties the Chinese campaign is 1421 being the earliest point in this game.

Late renaissance to late 19th century, you have Samurais, conquistadors and cowboys all in the same game.
You have the Knights of st John from the crusades, the aztec and Inca empires, alongside Mexico and US from the wild west period.
How is it possible that age of empires 3 receives huge content updates every two months and age 4 didn’t get a single one yet since release?!

Also different development team too. AoE 2 and 3 DE are developed by Forgotten Empire while AoE 4 are developed by Relic
Different developers. Also AoE4 new content comes from zero.
All new AoE3 content is basically making an "oficial" version of WoL.
