Yes, he applied the rules. With a wide quick puck out with a score you have to let the ref mark the score.
Cork weren't good enough to win their own puck out going long and weren't confident enough to go short and run because of clares pace.

The best performance I’ve ever seen in an AI has to be hegarty in 22. One of the best goals you’ll see, hands on everything that limerick were doing well and pints from everywhere. That said Kelly was simply awesome, when the banner needed him, he stood up. What a game.

Cork got 12 scorable frees and scored 10 clare got 3 scoreable frees in 90 minutes and scored 3

It is easy for the punnits to whinge there was no replay and there should be. They're getting paid! They don't have to fork out for tickets! On top of that I suppose they are dining on Ireland"s haut cuisine of Crubeens and bottles of stout. Red kemonade for the Pioneers.
FFS finish It on the day, there is enough in one build up. I imagine everyone/most are emotionally and in many cases financially drained. Players dropping like flies is all part of the drama, provided there are no concussion injuries. Now, that is a different story.

Davy Mac black card incident wasnt even a foul, he definitely tried to grab o'flynn but he missed. You can be sure if the situation was reversed the whole country would be talkin about the clare forward diving

Definitely finish on the day. The arguments about player welfare could apply to any match I think.
You'd never see a ref sub himself off, but he was wrecked by the end. 2 refs or give linesmen/women more power is what I'd like to see.

Interesting comments on player welfare and no mention of water breaks. Is this because Limerick were always better after them? I think so. The water break was a chance for everybody to catch their breaths, officials included. I think water breaks will come back but only when John Kiely and Paul Kinnerk move on. A nation of begrudgers, me thinks.
On extra time, that was decided a long time ago. I thought it was great, and I wasn't shouting for either side. These Cork guys, ie the punnits, would be singing a different tune by the Lee if they had won.

Limerick were punished as well with the very very quick puck outs being wrongly allowed , eg umpire giving a ball to the goalie while the ball was going over the bar , to puck it out straight away

@@Castlelong333 True for the Munster round robin match, but Limerick should have had a plan to counteract it for the semi-final. Funny that a Limerick referee stopped Cork taking quick puck-outs in the final and that allowed the Clare defense to reset in time. Cork didn't win as many of their own puck-outs either directly or through second ball. I think it had a decisive effect on the result yesterday.
