I got my first Kalanchoe on Valentine's Day from my son and it's beautiful in pink and white blooms. The blooms are withering away and here I was trying to save the flowers and after watching your video I see that they need to be clipped back to start again, who knew☺️ I now can try this step and take the decor off😁 Thank you!
@@tortugalisa4748 lmaoo oh nooo! Neither am I!! I just cut the blooms off my kalanchoe. Based on a couple of other videos I’ve seen today, I think I’m going to cut off some of the other leaves to give it more space for sunlight to pass through. I think my problem is that the leaves are too thick and there isn’t enough sun getting to the base of the plant
Always appreciate in depth explanations on how to care for these. My mom has one that’s growing like crazy and my mom has given it little attention but it’s so lush and growing out of control. Hoping to take a swing at this!
I got a blooming kalanchoe as my first plant. I put it in my basement under a grow light, it was alright but teeny. I forgot about it and left it in my basement with no light for almost a year, maybe even longer. Not only did it not die but it grew huge! It was all brown with no green, looked like a tiny tree with sooo many branches. I watered it and put it under a grow light again, it grew soooooooo many leaves. Hardiest plant ever. I killed my snake plant but this guy truly can’t die!
Mom received a small Kalancho as a gift; it's been months since it bloomed (February..... it's late May now). Lush and green but no blooms; I think it enjoyed the natural liquid fertilizer I fed it! Sounds like we will need to wait to cycle through another Winter for more flowers. I'm ok with that! 🌷 Your video was very helpful, especially watching you prune away the dead blossoms!
Is there a pruning that needs to be done? Mine hasn’t bloomed at all this year. 😢 I have a dozen shoots that are small leaves and it’s not thriving at all.
Hello ! My plant looks really healthy and i proganated 7 plants from the original one, but they are all not flowering. Can you advise me on how to make them bloom? Thank you ☘️
Kalanchoe is a short day bloomer, so you have to give it complete darkness for minimum 14 hours and at least 4 hours of light for 6 weeks. After that, your succulent will begin to form buds again. I usually do a closet and open the door in the mornings and close it at midday til the next day. They naturally go into producing buds in the winter because of the short day cycles.
I have kalanchoe red wondering jew ×5 pothos ×8 grape tomato snake plant Java fern (unknown amount) succulent Venus fly trap (trying to grow) pitcher plant (trying to grow) air plant/blushing bride
Is it necessary to repot? Or can I just leave it in the small one it came in 😅 it just fits better where I have it and I’d remember to water it in that location
I need help. I gotten this kind of plant as a gift. I've cut it after it had bloomed repotted to a bigger pot and i can't get it to rebloom and the leaves aren't as big as before.
NONE of mine have ever bloomed again since I got them for mother's Day 2 years in a row 🤣 I have a ton that I propagated too, and still no blooms from those either. They grow so freaking fast, though! But their leaves never get as big as those ones or the ones in the store.
Yeah, I bought an orange one in the fall around 3 years ago and it has yet to bloom again. I got so excited recently because I saw flower buds coming in, but then that entire stalk just snapped off. 😭 I stuck it back into the soil and hopefully it propagates and continues flowering.
They were getting too much light it seems, actually. I pulled them away from my grow lights a few feet, so they still got bright light, but it wasn't as direct... One is blooming now!!
Hello, great video, I love the Kalanchoes and am fairly new to this hobby and I have had my share of failures but I think I have found how to keep these beauties lush green. one issue that I have is getting these beauties to bloom again, I have read that you must keep them in the dark for approx 16 hours and 8 hours or so in sunlight, you make no mention of this technique . You just say that they should bloom again in a few weeks. Please help, my plants are not blooming. I do keep them indoors and am using combo natural and grow lights because of limitations in my home. Any comments would be appreciated. Thank you
My kalanchoe is so gorgeous but it’s getting too big… I really helped it thrive as I got it initially as a 2 inch clipping 6 months ago and now it’s 2 feet tall, completely filled out and covered in beautiful yellow flowers sprouting from every single angle. do I have to repot it in a big pot after each year/blooming season? It does look like it’s already outgrowing its pot but I don’t really want a gigantic kalanchoe bush at my house
I pruned my kalanchoe and left if at my window but we got a sudden snowfall and the cold got to my plants, now it has some dark/black parts, I took them to a warmer part of my room but what do I do? I actually have two and I don't want them to die, I would really appreciate your response, thank you!
I bought one and I was having blooms...after I removed the blooms, it never had a bloom again and the leaves still the same size when it keep going higher. Why? Do I need to move it to another bigger pot. And what kind of vitamins I need to add?
Hey! Any idea why my Kalanchoe keeps losing its bottom leaves? 😢 I'm gonna take some cuttings and try to make it grow fuller again but I have no idea why it kept dropping its bottom leaves

Thank you for showing how you prune and treat plants. Most videos I've seen don't show actual pruning or repotting.
Glad it was helpful!

My mom in law gave me one when my grandma passed away and it’s been blooming for 6 weeks now. I just love it so much, it’s very special to me ❤

Thank you for sharing your knowledge. I have two kalanchoe plants and they need pruning.

My boyfriend got me one..I'm terrible with plants so I'm just trying to do better
Pretty easy plant don’t over water no direct light and cut off spent blooms ❤
You got this boo
Is it still alive?
How’s it going?? 😊
Can we prune it any time of year?

Probably more light, if you can!

Try bright indirect light and a liquid fertilizer (like espoma indoor plant food)... I finally got one of mine to blossom this way!!
Someone gifted my mom two... She threw the first one out thinking she was killing it. Luckily I found this video and the second one shall live!
Glad the video helped.

Hello I bought one this plat a week ago from Ikea and it’s leaving are turning yellow can you please tell me what to do 😭
I can't even hear you over the echo in that room.
Might need to get a different mic setup...
But very informative, thanks.
We have worked on that. It was an older video.

Yow often do you fertilize and with what?
I hope I'm not too late into saving it. I've beeb over watering it, she doesnt look too good. Any help?
Question: can the light be a room light not a sun light?
I got on for my birthday 🎉
Fantastic gift!
How big do they get, please?
I bought one and I was having blooms...after I removed the blooms, it never had a bloom again and the leaves still the same size when it keep going higher. Why?
Do I need to move it to another bigger pot. And what kind of vitamins I need to add?
Are you sure it's not a fake plant?
Can I put this my pot outdoors?? Don’t have Room in doors 😁😁!!!
my plant is turned to all vines. Is there a way to correct it?
I lost control of my water bottle and definitely over watered mine, I have it sitting near a (gentle) heater - any other advice??
Just try to let that soil dry down properly and then get back into a regular watering routine.
Week and a half? I water mine every 40ish days or so
What about banana water as a fertilizer
Those little diy fertilizers don't do much, there just isn't enough nutrients to make much difference.
Should I water it by watering the soil or by spraying the leaves?
Noo don’t spray it, water the soil.
Hey! Any idea why my Kalanchoe keeps losing its bottom leaves? 😢 I'm gonna take some cuttings and try to make it grow fuller again but I have no idea why it kept dropping its bottom leaves
Losing bottom leaves is usually over watering with most plants.
See these in grocery store all the
Time had no idea it was a succulent
Yes! Aren't they pretty though.
Mine has white dust all over it. What is it? I thought it was pollen
❤❤❤
Thanks for watching!
I found one that someone dumped in the bin here In Manchester
Great find!
My leaves are starting to turn yellow! I’m a newbie 😅
FYI you need better audio.
Yes, we know. The microphone went out and we didn't know it. We have much better audio on our newer videos.
Sharing everyone of Jesus Christ, He is coming back. We are spiritually saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ our Lord God and Savior.

You're welcome!
Why can’t you just tell us what fertile to use? Example….I give my orchids a 20-14-13 water soluble. And my bonsai gets a 10-10-10.
We use our Beat Your Neighbor fertilizer of course. That is available here: www.BeatYourNeighbor.com
There's a lot of pronunciations for this thing
Yes, there is.
