Around 1981 I bought a plastic throttle lock new for about $5 and put it on my Honda CX500. It worked great, stayed with the handlebar rather than rotating with the throttle, and had a lever on top that you could push to disengage it without having to twist the throttle to idle. It was inconspicuous and took up no room on the grip. It worked a champion, but of course I do not remember who made it.
I bought one for my Suzuki DE800 (Suzuki inexplicably didn’t include a cruise on their new adventure/touring bike) about a month ago for a 600 mile cruise to the Black Hills. Didn’t work that well for me. and It doesn’t hold position for very long, no matter how much I cranked it down on the grip with the thumb wheel. Also, it alarmed me a couple times when I tried to decelerate and it continued to hold the throttle open.
nice, I have one too. its not dangerous at all, who didnt try it first is the one said it is dangerous🤣 u can easily roll off the throttle if you want too🤣. i buy this for around 4 dollars lol
It disconnects if you roll off or if you grab the brakes.. your assume those would be automatic.. and if not, it would be the same as not having the cruise then right?
it will not be accurate because it will hold the rpm not the speed if you only hold the rpm in a hill you will deaccelerate alot and if you hold it in a slope you will accelerate extremly real cruise control got a speed sensor to control rpm according to road carastrastics, any how this item still a low coast sulotion.

I can't use this kind, with bar-mitts. But thank you for showing it in action.
I have to shake out my right hand quite often so this simple cruise control gives plenty of time for that.
The don’t stay when applied. They roll off by themselves.

Good demo
great work
So what happens if you have to brake hard unexpectedly? Doesn't the throttle stay locked?
You'd assume you'd be rolling off the throttle right ? No different than a regular throttle / emergency brake
Plus it's tapered a bit
For far less than $31 I can make something very similar and just as functional, but hey! It’s still cool.
Just based on resources, sure. Time, probably not.
Great! I need one :)
No clutch... this is a scooter.. Of course works on motorcycles too
what material is made of? Just plastic or aluminium?
Aluminum... Very sturdy
I just checked on Amazon, they now sell an inferior line made or of very sturdy plastic, but it's also shorter
Awesome
1:36 your speed was dropping after setting it
Hugo Garcia it holds steady..just push the lever again till it settles on the spot you desire ...
Where could I buy that?
Amazon...or google search
How did he use the clutch if he was holding the camera????
awhiteguy24 it's a scooter... no clutch
this shit cant be legal haha .. what happens in an accident ? .. or an emergency where people tend to panic
