I'm a Disney employee and I volunteered that day Thursday the 6th of October since no else wanted to work.. I was so scared going to work in those whether conditions i was driving in I4 everybody was heading WEST except my self and another car behind me... But Disney provided us a room to stay at and all the food during our stay and a hurricane special pay... I was there and took car of our guests... Abdellah
I live in Florida, and Disney does "educational" field trips where your class goes into the park an hour before it opens and learn historical things. ( we saw the president show & rode big thunder mountain!) it was totally empty!!
I adore how you don't care what people think when u vlog, it makes it a better video. Thanks for making this, we were here exactly a month ago, so it's so weird.
#DisneyCruising Oh yeah god and mother nature wanted to see the parade too but just gave the magic kingdom a storm and they are curious and they just passed.
I hope that no one was hurt and sorry your trip was ruined...I can just imagine wild moments of seeing Mickey, Minnie and the Disney characters being blown around the place with money being strewn all over...
The closest I've ever been to a large strom/blizzard was back in college in Iowa. The blizzard ended up quite a way away, but it was scary as heck for someone from the tropics like me. Seeing the whole sky lit up because there was so much snow freaked me out bad. Thankfully I was with other students, all huddled together in the dorm basement. And thankfully someone brought a guitar--that really help eased the tension.
Blizzards are far less damaging and far less scary then a Hurricane. I grew up in Wisconsin, and there they have far more blizzards then Idaho. But now I live in Florida, and I went through Hurricane Charlie, and 2 other hurricanes back to back in less then 2 weeks. At least in blizzards you usually never loose power. They also have far less wind by OVER 3/4 less wind then a hurricane. But Hurricanes can have gusts of wind around 150+ mph, and loose electricity, and much much more damage. Dorm Basement? Dude Blizzards are not that bad you need to go in the basement. I lived in Wisconsin for 27 years, and not once did we have to go in the basement. not once. and Wis. has far more blizzards and stronger then Idaho.
I think Justin probably has a yearly pass to Disney, so he did not loose as much money as others did. Funny. his supply of back up food..... Chips, soda, 1 banana, water. LOL really? What about real food?
I'm in my school's band and we were supposed to perform in one of the parades at Disney World that exact day but because of the hurricane, they cancelled our trip:(
B-Movie Brian yeah that day when the "hurricane " was going to happen I was released early from school and had 2 days off. but nothing really happend where I live.
HISTORIC VIDEO! Justin has done a great job documenting Hurricane Matthew and its' effect on Walt Disney World. This might be Justin's best video ever!
I find it fishy that Disney World was untouched by the Hurrican as if they had some kind of force field when the hurrican got near it dissolved in seconds
Having had to ride out Matthew- for some reason I keep reivisiting this video. The calm, quiet nature of the park is so settling, the rumbling of the windy sky- it's all so relaxing despite the tense atmosphere. This is definitely one of my favorite videos from Justin.
Phoenix breeze I went to Florida last year and I was evacuated from Blizzard Beach (because water parks aren't safe in storms) because of an incoming hurricane that was due within the next hour, turns out it wasn't a hurricane just a thunderstorm and didn't come till 8pm that night, another 4/5 hours later!!
My wife and I were on our first ever trip to WDW from California, and everyone we talked to said the weather would be just fine that time of year, so only prepared for heat and humidity. Then, two days into our trip they upgraded the incoming storm to a Cat-4! We were in Epcot when the storm really picked up around 4pm, and I literally saw a little girl tossed to the ground by the wind! To be sure, it's a historical trip I will never forget.
You are literally one big kid Justin. So positive you make all of these peoples days better. Thanks. Whenever I get a job I will support you on patreon
Closest thing to this that's ever happened to me was when I was on star tours the fire alarm went off and we had to evacuate it the store by it and space mountain were closed too. JUST TAKE ME BACK TO DISNEYLAND 😭 it would have been the last ride we went on! But noooo!
Such a positive absurdist way of going about life: There will be a catastrophic monster taking away many lives, so let's go to disney land before our innevitable death comes potentially frighteningly close. It's almost poetic.
I visited Florida a couple of months after this and the East Coast was still fairly devastated. The fields were still flooded and there was a ton of damage. I've been in other hurricanes on FL and I'd never seen anything like that.
Jenna Poole+ you have 2 days left at Disney, and have to sit in a room the rest of the time, and see if you get ADHD. All you can think about is the money you are wasting, with your pre paid Disney entrance, hotel and car rental. Now I am sure, Disney reimburse you the days they can not open, but not the hotel and car rental. Not to mention NOTHING to do in a hotel room. Now Justin goes all the time to Disney World, Land, and Lands in other countries all the time, but for a family that had to save years for a trip to Disney world, and kids board in a hotel, room, they will even think more about the costs of hotel and car rental and not be able to get into Disney.
I was at Disney when the hurricane came, strong wind and we had to stay in the hotel and the parks closed at 5:00 pm, I was at the parade and it was rainy, the good thing was I was at Bay Lake and we could go across the bridge to the Contempary
Great job Justin. I worked at Disney World the first time it closed due to a hurricane threat. Best company I ever worked for, it was a childhood wish come true.
I listened to the audio of this & I imagined MANY Disney characters helping to prepare for the storm, running around the park, getting supplies & getting stuff ready
Mickey can ride out the storm on the BIG WHEEL! Glad everybody is safe there so far. Hope you make it home safely to the OC in time. Take care. Great videozzz. 😀
This is my regular hotel!! Mayb one day I will b able to stay in one of the ones u show us!! Thank u for giving me my home again Justin! I can’t even get CLOSE to xplaining to u wat this means to me! U bring so much laughter but also tears!!! THANK YOU JUSTIN!!!
we were staying at pop century during hurricane Matthew.. I remember helping some campers off the elevator who were being evacuated from the area camp ground. disney kept their employees on the premises over night and paid them for their time, even though they were off duty. I went for a walk that night just like justin did! experience of a lifetime! thank you for this video- I watch it occasionally for nostalgic purposes. :)
I use to work there, and one of the perks about working there was being able to walk through the park at night when it was closed, it's a totally different feeling when there's hardly anyone there, except for a few workers here and there working on the park for the next day..
I know this was 3 years ago...and I have watched this vlog more times than I can count....it’s my very favorite that you have produced. Hurricanes, I had to be watchful of them for years living at the beach. Finally decided I was done with the prep work and the seasonal worry and moved inland. Things happen inland as well but, I’ll deal with when and if it arrives.
I stayed at Pop Century during my second/last trip when I was 10. I remember the giant Lady and the Tramp statues that sat at each end of the pool, as well as the giant Baloo and Mowgli. Watching him go through the hotel area kinda brought back some memories. Glad to see he came out safe. :)
I was at Disney World during hurricane Matthew, and I was in Epcot, at the restaurant in France. It was really interesting to see no one in Epcot, though I had seen it like this many times before. But it's a little sad to see the Magic Kingdom like this. I've never seen it when it's closed and empty.
Oh my goodness I was there during the hurricane. I was staying at Pop Century and they shut down the food court for a while which was pretty suckish. But we got to walk right on splash mountain like 5 times in a row at the very end which was awesome.
Abdellah
Thank you for your dedication, Abdellah. You are the WDW magic!
Glad you enjoyed the Mouseketeria food!
Glad there’s people like you who won’t let a hurricane stop them from keeping the magic real!
you took a guests car? dayum savage
"It's so calm"

Disney should cast you for a character voice in a Pixar film. Great voice for animation!
Christopher Wilber I agree!
ye
I agree
It makes me uncomfortable seeing disney world being empty
go there early in the morning right when it opens and it'll feel like stepping into a dream
TheOinache Or go really late (night), it's practically empty- and it isn't hot!
Dino Books uh
Get there at rope drop and you can ride more rides before 10 AM than most people do all day.
I know! I went here last spring break!
Oh there is gonna be a category 4 hurricane. "Let's go to Disney!"
I adore how you don't care what people think when u vlog, it makes it a better video. Thanks for making this, we were here exactly a month ago, so it's so weird.
Dude you got ripped off by El Cheapo aka Disney. There is no way I would accept a trade of a Wilderness Cabin to crappy Pop Century.
pop century is ok pal ..
Sarah Hill I'm going in 4 days😊
"Storms coming, better celebrate!" "God must be a Disney World fan..." 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
#DisneyCruising I
I wish I was in a hurricane in Walt Disney World
Lol funny
I am a Disney cruise 🚢
#DisneyCruising Oh yeah god and mother nature wanted to see the parade too but just gave the magic kingdom a storm and they are curious and they just passed.
"If you don't like the weather in Florida just wait five minutes you'll like it even less!״ LMAO
We were there! Literally in the background of your video haha.
Be safe! Guess ariel escaped the underwater world again. King triton must be angry REAL ANGRY
SamMC Kitten Omg that made my day
Actually, if you watch the movie he ultimately accepted her decision.
SamMC Kitten he needs Dr. Phil's help. Scratch that .
Angie2343 Ik but.. Its basically what we should say if we were in disney
SamMC Kitten lol
I hope that no one was hurt and sorry your trip was ruined...I can just imagine wild moments of seeing Mickey, Minnie and the Disney characters being blown around the place with money being strewn all over...
Great, I am now imagining Micky and Minnie vigorously shaking like one of those floppy car things
Satan Tarah 😂
XDDDDDD
Satan Tarah XD
I’m dying xD
"Hurricane Matthew must either love Disney or is more of a Six Flags Guy"... Best. line. ever!
*it's so calm and orderly*
*human runs by almost slipping*

Savin Wangtal was there when it happened, 3 Rd time they've ever closed it in history, wasn't even bad tbh

Smileallthetime I live in Idaho-.- u have insulted me
Lol my science teacher had us watch this because we were talking about Hurricane Matthew, and how Disney world is closed😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂👍🏼
Kaitlin Alexis r/thathappened
I love how you went through this whole video wit no foul language. Many of these you tubers need lessons from you. No shade.
Randy Jackson true but some that use foul language don't use it against people which is better than nothing
yes, he likes to keep this a family show so all ages can watch together.
fuckin right
I feel like foul language isn't usually a bad thing, but in a park surrounded with kids, it's probably best not to swear.
I think Justin probably has a yearly pass to Disney, so he did not loose as much money as others did.
Funny. his supply of back up food..... Chips, soda, 1 banana, water. LOL really? What about real food?
In that day it was actually a really good opportunity to ride every ride that u can!
Justin, You're famous! The DIS used your video clip of the Magic Kingdom closing with the heavy down pour but gave you credit.
Also on the trending page of TH-cam now lol
WaterLily Plus this vid is on Trending! :D
WaterLily yep
It's amazing how he was so optimistic during the hurricane. I would've been pretty freaked out
tbh, I would be a little excited
Does anyone else think he sounds like spongebob
Tucker Mckinney YESS !!!! That's what I've been thinking the whole video. I really like this guy though. Especially this vid.
Tucker Mckinney just commented that haha
Nah. More like his cousin, Stanley.
I'm in my school's band and we were supposed to perform in one of the parades at Disney World that exact day but because of the hurricane, they cancelled our trip:(
This video was mostly entertaining due to your voice. You should be an actor or comedian with that voice and character.
I was at Epcot the very next day and you wouldn't have ever known a hurricane hsd come through the area
I live two hour away from the shore in North Carolina and I was released early from school and it hasn't even rained a bit
Looks like only a tiny bit of NC is being hit by Matthew, actually.
i'm 4 hours away from the shore in nc, I'm just above charotte
TheRockCynic I live in NC and it was really bad for me. So many roads were closed many roads have huge holes. There are lakes drained of water too...
B-Movie Brian yeah that day when the "hurricane " was going to happen I was released early from school and had 2 days off. but nothing really happend where I live.
"if you don't like the weather in Florida, just wait 5 minutes! "
HISTORIC VIDEO! Justin has done a great job documenting Hurricane Matthew and its' effect on Walt Disney World. This might be Justin's best video ever!
drinking game: take a shot every time he says "magic kingdom"
I find it fishy that Disney World was untouched by the Hurrican as if they had some kind of force field when the hurrican got near it dissolved in seconds
Christian Guzman bhai by I Dr moo
BrittDawg ARF Arf alittle
Christian Guzman Ha! Park Shields Up!
I live close to WDW, and no. We were just too far inland for much to get us. A lot of wind.
yeah for the most part Orlando will get the storms but not the actual hurriccane. it's just the location
i just found you in my recommended, ive been smiling and laughing this whole video. i love your atitude !
I work in Magic Kingdom! On the peoplemover! I can't believe I missed you I started work at 1:45! And you got on the ride around 1:42! I'm so upset 😩
Darn 3 minutes
What do they do witht he employers at disney during the hurricane ?
Genesis Hernandez they go home
Genesis Hernandez They take them out back and put 'em down
Do they pay good
Having had to ride out Matthew- for some reason I keep reivisiting this video. The calm, quiet nature of the park is so settling, the rumbling of the windy sky- it's all so relaxing despite the tense atmosphere. This is definitely one of my favorite videos from Justin.
I was stuck at fort wilderness as well during another hurricane (I forget). We were evacuated to contemporary. Scary stuff. Stay safe
Phoenix breeze i was gonna go for fall break and my trip got canceled
I'm going for fall break tomorrow lol.
Phoenix breeze dude, I LIVE IN FLORIDA...
You are so lucky! I wish I was stuck in Disney World.
Raise your voice one octave, you would be a pretty good SpongeBob.
PeeWee
My wife and I were on our first ever trip to WDW from California, and everyone we talked to said the weather would be just fine that time of year, so only prepared for heat and humidity. The "God must be a Disneyworld fan," made me bust out laughing. lol! xD
I’ve decided this is my favorite Justinscarred episode.
I hope the characters are safe and sound!
Angie2343 yea they are probably gonna ask fairy godmother to put a protection spell on the castle
Good idea! And the other areas as well.
Wendy went back to her house in Bloomsbury, Aurora went back to her kingdom, etc.
MJ Moonwalker forever no. Ask Elsa to create an ice shield that covers the entire Dusneyworld. That way the it won't be "rocked by a hurricane "
Good idea!
I loved this video, and I gotta say you're pretty entertaining to watch :)
Meaghan Dowling omg hi I love your vids
You are literally one big kid Justin. So positive you make all of these peoples days better. Thanks. Whenever I get a job I will support you on patreon
"Storms Coming, better celebrate!" LOL have a nice day at home
I cannot get in touch with relatives in Haiti. No communications for that part of the country. Unbelievable damages I'm told. Say a prayer.
🙏
The Mad Haitian have you heard from them?
I love your personality and your positivity :)
What a fun one!!!
Thanks for the interesting look of what a hurricane looks like in WDW. Kinda scary but kinda neat.
I love this dude's attitude and voice.
love the filming and the excitement in your voice. wish i had that haha
I am late and I thought this was Irma
I'm so glad I found your channel Justin,Watching your video's always cheer me up
Love your videos. The continual dialog in your shots is brilliant. Keep up the good work.
when you said "Hide your Kids, Hide your wife", I immediately thought of that vine. Stay safe :)
This phrase was popular on TH-cam (2010), before vine existed
Thank you for making my childhood ❤️
I can't remember the last time I was so mesmerized with a video! :)
“People all have the same feeling, like, ha ha! WERE STUCK HERE.” Lol 😆
I'm glad they were wrong about the hurricane. I didn't even lose power here in West Orlando
Closest thing to this that's ever happened to me was when I was on star tours the fire alarm went off and we had to evacuate it the store by it and space mountain were closed too. JUST TAKE ME BACK TO DISNEYLAND 😭 it would have been the last ride we went on! But noooo!

Jonathan Robbins if i'm gonna die, disney with my family is the place to be!
I visited Florida a couple of months after this and the East Coast was still fairly devastated. The fields were still flooded and there was a ton of damage.
I've been in other hurricanes on FL and I'd never seen anything like that.
This guy sounds a lot like Roger Rabbit. intentional?
he is just crazy and zany, kid at heart and a bit of ADHD. Overall great guy, some videos are more calm than others.
He reminds me sometimes of Pee-wee Herman
Jenna Poole+ you have 2 days left at Disney, and have to sit in a room the rest of the time, and see if you get ADHD. All you can think about is the money you are wasting, with your pre paid Disney entrance, hotel and car rental.

😂😂😂
I just moved to Florida and I'm watching this to prepare for Irma!
Holy crap dude! I'm a huge fan at 3:14 that's my mom and I in the people mover across from you haha
Brian Woulfe lol really? Small world!
I have watched this more than ten times and it never gets old
m cabrera Me too!
From a $250 Dollar a night Cabin to a Budget Resort? You needed to hold out for the Poly !! LOL
seriously! That blows! They should have moved him to somewhere BETTER!
Tawny Horton lol that "blows." I get it
Get it? Because of wind?
B. Sam What's "Poly"?
Short for Polynesian Resort here in WDW!! :)
Nope I live in Florida and I didn't need extra help the only problem I ran into was missing my biggest field trip for the year
I live in Kissimmee & we are so happy we did not get any damage from this Hurricane.
You mean you're happy we didn't get any damage from that light storm. Practically stormed harder a few weeks ago here, albeit a lot shorter.
I was at Disney when the hurricane came, strong wind and we had to stay in the hotel and the parks closed at 5:00 pm, I was at the parade and it was rainy, the good thing was I was at Bay Lake and we could go across the bridge to the Contempary
I hope you had more opportunity to explore Pop Century. I've stayed there, it was so cool.
The Slightly Above Average Adventures of Sandinkler i never even heard of this resort im glad i watched this video
It's an awesome resort. I stayed there my first 2 times at Disney
Great job Justin. I worked at Disney World the first time it closed due to a hurricane threat. Best company I ever worked for, it was a childhood wish come true.
Lucky I'm on the east coast of Canada and we don't get storms here. Our weather is pretty chill. I hope everyone that died didn't suffer too much.
I listened to the audio of this & I imagined MANY Disney characters helping to prepare for the storm, running around the park, getting supplies & getting stuff ready
"God must be a disney world fan. or hurrican matthew more of a six flags guy!" ded😂😂😂
Your commentary is killing me, I love this video! lmao
I feel like this guy could do a really good "Lampy" impression from Brave Little Toaster.
I like the way he is thankful and how he thinks of other people!! I am totally subscribing!!
Pop century is where I stayed when I went there a couple months ago.
You got yourself a new subscriber. Something tells me the rest of your content will be as entertaining and fun to watch. 😁
"The weird thing is, there's not even a drop of rain."
After you live in Florida long enough, that's normal, hurricane or not. XD
This was awesome. You would make an excellent reporter. Great voice, great presence, keeping up the mystery.
Damn I wish I could have been there!
right when he said it wasn't a laughing matter it was 69 degrees..... hehehehehe
Mickey can ride out the storm on the BIG WHEEL! Glad everybody is safe there so far. Hope you make it home safely to the OC in time. Take care. Great videozzz. 😀
I have bean watching this on repeat all through quatine and when it wasn't quatine I love this vid because its normal operation than now
Oh my gosh. I'm just glad that it passed so that I can go to Disney World for my birthday.
TheAlexGamer 580 don't worry. Elsa can freeze the hurricane before it hits Disneyworld.
Proof there is such a thing as a Disney bubble.
11:07 “If I could stay in Disney during the hurricane, I totally would.
Hurricane: Are you sure about that?
Aren't there like,
walking catfish in Florida?
You would expect them to be flopping around after the hurricane.
we were staying at pop century during hurricane Matthew.. I remember helping some campers off the elevator who were being evacuated from the area camp ground. disney kept their employees on the premises over night and paid them for their time, even though they were off duty. Last time I stayed in Disney, my hotel room was RIGHT BEHIND the Mickey phone! ^_^
I know this was 3 years ago...and I have watched this vlog more times than I can count....it’s my very favorite that you have produced.

Phew! I'm glad I wasn't in this terrible storm! Well at least we got a little wind and rain in northern Cali.
One of my favorite videos ever.
I stayed at the same hotel at the same time omg!!!!!!!!😮😲😮😲😮😆😆
Oh my goodness I was there during the hurricane. I was staying at Pop Century and they shut down the food court for a while which was pretty suckish. But we got to walk right on splash mountain like 5 times in a row at the very end which was awesome.
