Great video I'm actually doing a mono ground playthrough on pokemon sword I chose the following, hipowdon, excadrill, seismitoad, runegius, flygon, mamoswine. Also caught a hidden ability seismitoad via raid so I have water absorb if needed.
Be sure to call your Ground-type mentor Obi-Wan, because you need the High Ground in order to make your Ground-type pokemon have the High Ground advantage.
Ground Type is Probably the Strongest Type in Pokémon, 5 Super Effective Hits, 3 Weaknesses, 2 of the 3 Weaknesses are the Worst Defensive Types, Ice and Grass..
I love this team and I love my ground type pokemon. I am a little surprised that Mamoswine didnt make it though. I cant remember is Mamoswine was in the ice type team but Mamoswine is a beast as well. Palosand would also be another good option with a good type and good recovery. Also a great ability. A Pokémon can’t appear twice .... why? At most it would be twice? I just don’t get and would prefer this rule be ignored, as to better adhere to the video title.
In this series, a Pokemon that you put in the thumbnail is on the team, but based on your strong (and in my opinion, unreasonsable) biases against Torterra, I honestly thought you put it in the thumbnail as a joke.
Weakness = 2x damage Resistance = 0.5x damage If you have 2 types, you multiply the weakness/resistance of one type by the weakness/resistance of the other. Let's use a hydro pump against 3 different pokemon for an example. Ludicolo is grass/water. Both grass and water resist water. 0.5 x 0.5 = 0.25x damage Torterra is grass/ground. Grass resists water, but ground is weak to it. 0.5 x 2 = 1, neutral damage Rhyperior is rock/ground. Both rock and ground are weak to water. 2 x 2 = 4x damage
Alex Coman yeah I mean his reason was (partly) because Swampert has a times 4 weakness. But that is his ONLY weakness. Protecting against Grass can’t be THAT hard am I right? I agree I would have gone Swampert > Steelix also.
not to tell you what to do but at the end of making all the best teams for each type you should have a round robin and then a tournament with all the teams to see which is best
I would probably replace Landorus with Krookodile. Landorus is by no means bad, I just think Gliscor already fulfills the Ground/Flying-type well. Give Krookodile Moxie with physical attacks, and you can likely get a good sweep.
So... half of your best ground type team will get OHKOd by ice beam (one of the most common and readily available coverage moves in the game). Steelix will not survive 2 neutral special attacks from anything worth having ice beam on. I would recommend giving torterra a yache berry instead because those waters he’s supposed to kill will almost surely pack beam or blizzard so leftovers won’t save him but focus sash might be safer too

Instead of the Choice Band on Mudsdale, I think the Iron Ball would be better. Heavy Slam on Mudsdale is insanely powerful.
