Wow! I stumbled upon this video while researching DIY bathroom vanities. The knowledge, skill, and humble confidence you have is very admirable. I respect showing us the drawer mistake as well. Very, very impressive build.
Super Thanks!! I just completed your base cabinet for my garage and your wall cabinets for my garage. I had never built anything before and I used just the basic hand tools and all the Kreg Tools you used to make it. I am shocked on how great it came out. I studied your cabinet construction and copied it to the letter. I learned so much on this project. Thank You Again!!
Big fan of Kreg products. I've been using their pocket hole jigs for about 17 years now. Nice solid cabinet!I appreciate you showing the errors, it helps all of us. I built 8 drawers one time 1" to wide forgetting to subtract for the drawer slides. We've all been there.
For the Kreg jig, you are correct about the vacuum attachment. When I use that jig with the vacuum attached, I end up with maybe a tablespoon of excess chips. Cleanup afterward takes only about 30 seconds. Excellent video by the way. Gives me a lot of ideas for a project that I'm working this week.
Good video! I appreciate it when you guys admit (and often show) publicly your mistakes and how you fixed the problem-it makes me feel better since I invariably ‘screw up’ on a lot of my projects. 😖
Man, efficiency is king in my book. Some try to call me lazy until they see all my work is done. I LOVE all the tips and tricks like the measurement cheats, it increases efficiency and therefore my productivity. Thank you so much man! (I have Asperger's so i dont always see what's so obvious to others.) Like the last video how to build drawers i was a little confused why you knock a whole inch off the height, but the details here lining up the drawer end and two slides to get the width of the divider was genius.
Everything we need, and nothing we don't. Thank you! It's helpful that you included your mistake and the solution including the fact that you would improve your solution in future! I keep coming back to your video; it's the most helpful for my needs by far even though I'm only making a single cabinet with floor slides for my trash can drawer.
Great build! It is honing some project ideas I have. One suggestion though, add nuts to your adjustable legs to lock them at the preferred height. Vibration from power tools will cause them to walk out of adjustment.
one of my favourite how to videos...as well as one of my favourite channels to get info... thank you Brad. You have helped me up my game. I have learned a lot from you. THANKS!!
Oh,...Wow, Thank you! I ran across this project in my IG feed. I'm from the Chattanooga area, and I've been searching for a cabinet build video like this for over a year now that will inspire me to tackle a vanity build to finish-off a Master bathroom remodel. It'll need to be longer, but I did purchase your plans. I'm looking forward to getting started. Keep-up the great work!
That look awesome and is going to so nice for the garage. I’m glad you pointed out the mistakes you made. Makes us rookies feel a little bit better when we make mistakes and takes some of the fear away from diving in and trying it ourselves. Thank you.
Great cabinet construction build. The unit has pleasing dimensions and is very functional. Also, the ply you used looked very clean and clear. Anyway...there was a lot of cool components and your talent came through. Keep it up. Thanks for sharing.
Kudos for the Kreg K4/K5 dust port and the track saw. The dust port collects virtually ALL of the chips and is VERY inexpensive. I bought the entire Kreg track saw system and it almost eliminates (maybe 98%?) circular saw dust in my enclosed, air conditioned shop where dust is really noticed.
Love the build Brad. What I really enjoyed the most (sorry but at your expense) was the mess up. This can EASILY happen to anyone and the fact you showed it is perfect. Not all videos can nor should be perfect. The jigs provided at on my Christmas list this year. Will be so handy! Thanks again for such an awesome build and progress video!
I totally agree and when he stopped the entire video I was like WOW thank you for your honesty! I don't do a lot of builds with drawers becuase of this reason, but like we all say practice makes perfect. Good to see the jigs in action too, I have plenty of their jigs and every one of them is worth their cost!
I have done similar errors. ended up fixing it by trimming the lower part outside frame of the drawer on the router table to recess the slide into it a bit.
Another great project Brad! I was digging the shot with the jigsaw. I always appreciate when others highlight their mistake as we all know how frustrating it can be.
It’s nice that you show your mistakes. If you’re doing any sort of woodworking you’re going to make mistakes. And it’s just a matter of fixing them somehow and moving on.
Thank you for sharing this Brad. You do such great work and I am glad that you make/show mistakes! I enjoy your work and am thankful you are willing to share with us!!
Brad, outstanding video and project. Your attention to detail really resonates with me. I appreciate quality and your projects always turn out fantastic! Thanks for posting!!
Love the video! These frameless cabinets are almost the exact kind I was going to build for my kitchen. However, only using braces for the frame and not putting a bottom shelf was something I didn't think of. I've been trying to figure out ways to save wood and that was a good idea thank you. I'm not sure if it'll work, I'm thinking about trying it on my drawers, but another thing you can think about doing instead of having to shim up your drawer rails is to Mount them to the bottom of the drawers instead of the sides. It would require installing a couple of small braces to attach the rails to and will also require using a thicker bottom to the drawer so essentially a little bit more material but on the other hand your drawers could go edge-to-edge and your rails would be hidden on the bottom.
Top job 😀. Well done. To err is human. Great to see even the best occasionally make a mistake. I have learned more from my mistakes than not. Love the quick tip on fitting the drawer slides. Cheers from Michael. Australia
Absolutely love your videos man. You are giving out great instructions and details in a way that is easy to understand and follow. I came to know your videos as I was struggling with making drawers and using drawer slides for the first time. I struggled my way through it, made a bunch of mistakes, wasted plywood too. (:-) That lead me to search for videos and found your site. Darn it all, had I seen your drawer video first I would have known what in the world I was doing. But I have to say you made me chuckle in this video when you gave out the proverbial uuuggghhh! after having to redo your drawer slides when you didn't take into consideration the drawer slides hitting the cabinet doors. Great job with your explanations and describing your mistakes as well.
the amount of effort you put in to these projects/videos is really impressive! to be honest, I'm inspired.. hope to buy your plans soon once I get some of my tools in order
I like that you made a mistake (at 7:03) because most of my projects I almost ALWAYS mess up something to the point I rarely enjoy it. I made a ghostbusters play table (video on my profile) but I didn't take into account that my sons bedroom door is 1cm smaller than the doors downstairs so on christmas day I was removing the door frame to get it in!) theres always some unforeseen thing that sets me back hours of my time. Not that I like that this happened to you, but it shows that it can even happen to a professional who can make such awesome cabinets. When it comes to diy now i usually add at least a day more time to complete due to losing pencils, screwdrivers, something breaking, measuring something wrong, something always messes up no matter how much I plan it but it's nice to see that it was worth pushing through the error to get to the finish piece. excellent
Thanks, this is exactly what I'm looking for. My small workshop is almost done. It's 16X26 with 10ft ceiling. Next step is building all my cabinets and work tables. I can't wait. I have a small 16X16 studio above, with a 10X16 patio. This plan would also work for the small kitchenette upstairs as well. Thanks!
Thanks. I just purchased the plans. It's almost exactly what I was planning, just with slightly different dimensions. I have two questions: 1. You use two different pocket hole jigs, I am guessing I could just use the K4 jig, right? 2. If I adjust with 1/2 spacers on each outer side, I am guessing I make the drawers 1" smaller? Or did you already adjust for this in the cut list? I know, math, but I thought I'd ask.
Hey Brad, I'm getting ready to start my very first kitchen cabinet build. I've seen Kreg at Workbenchcon but it's nicer to see their products used in your setting. Wish me luck! It's high end cherry so I'm keeping my fingers crossed for few mistakes - haha! Not very likely... thank you, Renee
I made a pair or speaker stands and the vertical is all the way to the back of the base and as a result, tippy. I should have placed it 1 1/2" from the back edge of the base. I'll find out when I put the speakers on them if I need to redo them.
Hey Brad, I bought another set of your great plans, and I’m going to use them as the start of some kitchen cabinets. It’s my first time building cabinets and I am going to paint them. My question is when during the process I should paint? Thanks again.
franchement oua oua que dire Magnifique construction et bien penser est Multi fonction comme j'aime beau travail a bientôt pour d'autre trouvaille et bien sur d'autre vidéo.
I was thinking all the way through the video you sound like a salesman for Kreg and at the end sure enough, they sponsored you. How awesome is that? I would love to play in your workshop. lol
Nice build. I've never understood not having the rear of the drawer bottoms supported in a groove. It's easy enough to do and will never sag, especially in a shop cabinet where heavy duty is the goal.
Agreed, and I'm not sure that 1/4" is thick enough for that size of drawer, especially in a workshop. I've had too many drawer bottoms bowing downwards and the contents disappearing down the back of the cabinet. Nevertheless, a good looking and useful cabinet.

+Tom's Dreamshop Worx that's better than making them 1" too small at least 😃

Respect on showing your mistake and you remediated. Props on another solid project👍
Great build! It is honing some project ideas I have. One suggestion though, add nuts to your adjustable legs to lock them at the preferred height. Vibration from power tools will cause them to walk out of adjustment.
I am very impressed with your methodical, logical and certainly repeatable construction of this cabinet and drawers. WOW!!

+Duane Sanders thanks, Duane! I'd love to see your build when you do it!
Awesome video! I also appreciate that you left in your mistake, we all make them but many might have chosen to edit this out and not mention it
That look awesome and is going to so nice for the garage. I’m glad you pointed out the mistakes you made. Makes us rookies feel a little bit better when we make mistakes and takes some of the fear away from diving in and trying it ourselves. Thank you.
Great video. I appreciate the way you showed the work in high speed while keeping the text in normal speed.
thank you!
I love those Kreg jigs and the K5 pocket hole unit. My collection of Kreg jigs is growing rapidly.
positive recovery on the drawer slides! keep up the good work
+Cody Ziemke thanks, man!
Brilliant video. Like how you speed it up so it doesn't drag on. Also love how you showed your mistake, makes the rest of us feel less incompetent! 😂
Great cabinet construction build. The unit has pleasing dimensions and is very functional. Also, the ply you used looked very clean and clear. Anyway...there was a lot of cool components and your talent came through. Keep it up. Thanks for sharing.
Appreciate the feedback, Benjamin!
The general knowledge of building cabinets in this video is great! Thank you.

Well dang...you're just up I-65. Huntsville, AL checking in. Ordered the shop bundle this morning....a total rookie at this new hobby.
Welcome to woodworking! 💪 💪

+Shaun Guthrie I'm happy to be a martyr for others so they don't make the same mistake!

I've rewatched your videos & learn something each time. Thanx for sharing your skills.
That's a nice CLEAN build Brad. Thanks.
Thanks, Tony!
Thanks for this vid, Brad! Now I'm ready to conquer our kitchen cabinets build! 😃🔨🪛🪚👷💪🏿
I am from Algeria and your work is great and worth pursuing
Best base cabinet build I've seen. Great job!!
Thanks!
This is perfect for my basement liquor cabinet with a couple modifications. Thanks!
Wow, I was surprised to learn that was only 2 sheets of ply (for all but the top)! Looks great.
+matt mcl gotta make the expensive stuff go a long way!
My man, your work is straight clean!
Your work inspires me!
Brad, outstanding video and project. Your attention to detail really resonates with me. I appreciate quality and your projects always turn out fantastic! Thanks for posting!!
Really appriciate you showing us your mistake! I feel better about myself now!

+Seth Lavinder you can do it, Seth! Just needs patience and a little gumption.
nice project! and big ups for including the screwup. i know it happens to all of us, but you rarely see it on youtube.
I'd rather you not do the same thing than me look good :)
Top job 😀. Well done. To err is human. Great to see even the best occasionally make a mistake. I have learned more from my mistakes than not. Love the quick tip on fitting the drawer slides. Cheers from Michael. Australia
Great video Brad!
Oh and I love your drill press stand as well. That is next on my list of to do's
Well done Brad!

Nice job Brad. I love when I make mistakes because I learn from it.
Yup, always learning something NOT to do :)
wow.... it's so BEAUTIFUL!
+think e'M thanks!
Always amazing ideas and videos. THANK YOU!!!
Awesome video! As always. Could you do a video teaching how to measure doors and how to measure for the correct hinges?
Great work brother
This is EXACTLY what I want to replace my current workbench with!!!
Thank you for this video. Very helpful.
Turned out great man
+Steve Yopp appreciate it, Steve!
Awesome build. I’m 6 months behind! Lol I’m just getting into woodworking and love this cabinet!!! Your video was clear and crisp!
Welcome to the craft!

Check out my garage style cabinet vids too. Another great option for walls 👍
Brad
I am working on this design for a pantry. Thanks for the plans it is money well spent.
Appreciate the support! 💪💪
Perfect!
I’m definitely making this! But I may need it mobile. And I’ll keep my planer and sander mounted on top!
+Ludwig Barnes it would easily work on wheels as well!
Old video, but I'd suggest using a speed square to ride the jig saw against for those toe kicks.
Great project so I purchased your plans. Thank you
Awesome build man! Looks fantastic
+Worn Standard thanks, Matt!
You are The Best in our Blue Planet
You inspire me! Great explanation and video!
I 'm going to use this design for my kitchen base cabinets.
Perfect. I was looking for something like this in my shop!
Thanks!
Thanks. I just purchased the plans. It's almost exactly what I was planning, just with slightly different dimensions.
I have two questions:

I'm going to have to get some of those jig for sure. Great stuff
They make life easy!
Holy cow great job. I learned a lot
Now that's a very nice tutorial ! Must have been a lot of work... Congratulations for the final result.
Good luck, Renee. You've got this!

+Tamma Strongbear thanks, Tamma!
Fantastic Video!
Thank you for the tip and tricks
+david salsedo you're welcome!
There's a craft room, a workshop, and then there's a workshop.
You do the cutting of the plywood outside.
This is prolly the best diy vid i've seen. I can't thank you enough. Awesome!
Great to see another video from you, Brad! I always enjoy your videos.
+KSFWG thanks! Hope to have the next one out sooner than later!
Very nice build.
Thanks, Ryan!
Great build Brad! Too bad about the drawers. Those are the best kind of mistakes because it'll never happen again.
+Make Build Modify thanks, Justin! And yup, one of those fool me once learnings.
I bet you saved those drawers to reuse them in another cabinet too.
Nice work!
Must be nice to have a full shop to do this in
Dude...so precise. Thanks man!
Very beautiful
We all screw up. My grandpa used to say that the best carpenter is the one that fixes his mistakes the best.
+Bobby Stanley absolutely!
My boss always tell me the same and that his dad taught him that
I made a pair or speaker stands and the vertical is all the way to the back of the base and as a result, tippy. I should have placed it 1 1/2" from the back edge of the base. I'll find out when I put the speakers on them if I need to redo them.
I love my work sharp!!! Keep up the great work!!!!
+Make'n it my Way it's a nice little unit
Enjoyable video, thanks for posting.
+Big Mike is talking thanks!
Great video. I liked that you kept the mistake in there...we all do it. :-)
Hey Brad, I bought another set of your great plans, and I’m going to use them as the start of some kitchen cabinets. It’s my first time building cabinets and I am going to paint them. My question is when during the process I should paint? Thanks again.

Awesome! You are lucky you have a special tools to do it. I don’t have those tools because I can’t afford it. Thanks for sharing
