    my prius has HID headlights. should I stick with the HID housing or buy halogen and retrofit?

    Thank you for the great video I have been trying to figure out how to make my HIDs look better and now knowing I can pull them apart is awesome. What was the tape you used to seal it again?

      @IgorKadulenkov  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for your review! It was butyl tape. I still get some condensation on a rainy day, but I think it's coming through the central hole. It's important to figure out how to seal the headlight completely with all the new cables going through

      @@IgorKadulenkov Hi. It was really nice to see your work. I am interested to have one pair of light. Can I get one?

    Great video and the lights look awesome, how are the led strip holding up as you mentioned they flicker when it’s hot, and can you recommend a good quality led strip please, thanks

      Thanks! I would recommend getting quality LED strips or not getting them at all. The ones I installed burned in multiple spots and the headlights looked lame. Otherwise, I was very happy with the quality of the beams, night and day difference.

    Did you have halogens before? What if you already have the factory bi-xenon HIDs?

    Nice work! How much if you build one for me with no LED strip? ready to plug in and use.

      Thanks! The set on the video turned out to be quite expensive, around $380 without the DRL strip. This doesn’t include labor, and I haven’t figured out how to do the final alignment after the assembly. Each car is different and the projectors would need to be slightly rotated and glued in after the installation. If you’d still want to discuss it, you could shoot me an email at igor@kadulenkov.com

    I have an extra set of OEM Prius Gen 2 Halogen light reflectors. Could I use them instead of the headlight assy you recommended? I got them cheap from a salvage yard for $20 each.

    could you just update the whole parts list lol i want to do this but not sure exactly what to buy

    • @IgorKadulenkov
      @IgorKadulenkov  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sure, I just updated the parts section. Please note that this particular DRL LED strip overheats and flickers in a higher outside temps. I would advise on getting a different one.

    this process is the same if you already have HID's, and just want to retrofit projectors, correct? stock prius HIDs are shit

    No way the average person will tackle this project. I don't know why they won't just make more after-market choices. Hell the very small few that there are, are expensive enough. You did a hell of a job! They look amazing!

    • @IgorKadulenkov
      @IgorKadulenkov  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Lakario! Honestly, you don’t have to do the whole thing. Just installing 2.5’’ mini projectors with default shrouds and ballasts will give you the same result in terms of the performance. And it will be cheaper. This was more of a research project, I wanted to try what’s out there. Yes , it’s very expensive, it cost me $400 to try it out with 0$ labor costs.

    As I know that hid bulb size is D4R, not H4. Could clarify it?
    If I just buy the projectors, do I still need to do all those wire works? How does high beam low beam work? Do I just need to connect high beam wire to the projector?

    • @ilyas5708
      @ilyas5708 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      H4 connector is prius side. H4 from car to whatever the hid bulb is

    • @IgorKadulenkov
      @IgorKadulenkov  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you are not planning to just connect your bulbs to the existing wiring, you will need to either buy one or make one yourself. Are you planning to use LED bulbs instead? I am not sure if it's ok to connect LED bulbs to the stock wiring. If you want to have a relay, I would buy the harness as it saves a lot of time. It comes with Relay and HiBeam connector where you need to connect your hi beam switch. Just make sure that it has a matching connector to your type of ballast/bulb.
