Maybe consider the fact that many legitimately believe Singa's sound and composition quality is inconsistent. They don't go after songs because of him; they go after him because of his songs. And I say that as someone who actually really enjoys this track and a chunk of Singa's work over the years. People don't criticize Jindo or Unisuga nearly as much because they have more experience, composition consistency, and generally good sample quality. I love a handful of Singa songs, but even I'll admit that he doesn't know wtf he's doing with his instrumentation/samples 80% of the time.
@@ravus9935 Hard agree. Especially on his instrumental OPs he has this tenancy to use the ugliest synth he can manage. And Singa's really managed to one up himself this time. That sound at 0:50 is seriously just viscerally disgusting to me to the point I had a physical reaction the first time I heard it lmaoooo. And this isn't even the only song on this OST that I had that reaction to either. I'd probably like this and a lot of his other tracks if he just got his shit together with the instruments. Like Cave of Groan from Ys IX is a good example of a pretty good song ruined by bad instruments.
As someone who’s more indifferent to the mans music, this is Singa’s best instrumental yet if you ask me, been waiting for a “full” version ever since it was used in the trailer. This did not disappoint, I’m loving what I’ve heard of Kuro’s OST so far.
When the futuristic maid comes in with her phone, then pulls out a knife/gun combo, bounding off of thin air platforms... Mmph yeah that's peak right there
No, no, no .. this piece actually slaps coming from Singa. It means sooo much more once you hear this piece in-game for the events that uses this. Its the same situation with Across the Spider-Verse where all the soundtrack is trash if you didnt watch the movie
The other time it's played was when Van & gang invocating Grendel on purpose for research that part is nice too even though the engrish used was a bit lol
Overall I think this is probably the best instrumental OP Singa's made for Trails (at the very least it certainly beats Hajimari's nonsense). That chime annoys me, especially with how it's used in the section at 0:23 and the like, and some of the other arrangement choices (particularly the lead at 0:55) also really get on my nerves. That lead that starts up at 1:11 is also a bit rough at times, though I'll gladly take it over the horrid leads in Sen3, 4, and 5's instrumental OPs.
I always thought Sen3's inst. version was actually pretty damn good, but something about this particular track just clicks. Very curious to see how this inst. version is actually used in game too.
@@FrogofWarRS I despise the lead on Sen3's so much I'd rather listen to Sen4's, Singa butchered Teramae somehow and I honestly think it's on par with the Fateful EVO guitar. I might hate it a bit more than it deserves though.
@@MaskedKingDavid Sorry but Sen4 instrumental was the most atrocious arrangement they've ever done, period. What makes it especially bad is how they've completely butchered what was one of their best OPs.
@@delayed_control Eh, I can see that tbh; for me though, as I also like Ashita eno Kiseki quite a bit, I find more to be fond of in the instrumental version, which at least keeps the composition intact enough for me. The beginning of the song is absolutely horrible until like 0:21, then the rest of the song is fine. This is definitely an improvement from Singa's other songs however.
How can you make a mediocre OP theme into a terrifying monstrosity? Well ask Singa, he knows! The guitars in the OP were at least decent at the start, but they sound horrible here and the synth stuff makes me nauseous. Singa's worst instrumental OP version to date.
Honestly my exact thoughts. I don't know why he thinks those guitar samples sound good. Its jarring when compared to other people they let compose the series.

I think I've grown to love this instrumental version of the OP theme...I even saved this theme on my phone...
もはやリゼット専用テーマ、聞いたら登場シーンが自然に思い出すぐらい印象残ってる。
This track is a hella good bop! Probably one of my favorite Singa tracks of the OST right now.
...but also damn Risette is pretty :)
"hella good bop" - i love that comment almost as much as this song 🤣
And Risetto entrance in this sequence is epic !

at lot better than his opening instrumental in cs4. No stupid synths this time
リゼットだけ登場シーンかっこよすぎw

Risette's intro was soooo good, super badass

this one is pretty great, honestly Singa does better when its music not related to bosses
清々しい音楽かなと思いますよ。
But a variation of this IS used in a boss fight....and it fucking slaps, so you're objectively wrong anyway.
Anyone know when this plays in the game? This shits good
Risette’s grand entrance and debut. Ngl one of if not the best entrances in the series. Was Hella hype
