I wish you had kept going through Garden City. I grew up summering there with my mother’s family. Back then there weren’t a lot of houses and the Point was a very isolated area where we went as teenagers to get away from the adults.
As a matter of fact, we did. I continued to film as we rode behind Sam's and went a few blocks back and toward the marsh, just to ride and look. Sorry, I should have left those last 5 min on there. I just didn't' think anyone wanted to see us just riding around back there. I'll definitely leave it on next time. Of make a video of riding back in that area. Thanks for letting us know.

Remember when we were allowed to drive on the beach and no structures over three stories. Now the parking garages are three stories. Kinda mind blowing. It is what it is.
Yes, the beach isn't the same as it used to be. Now, you can't see the ocean most of the time from Ocean Blvd. in MB or SSB. Crazy.
I will be in Surfside in October. I cannot wait to finally get on that pier. And I will also be at the Garden City Pier too. Thank you for the video!

Nice video! i always love the ride from garden city on waccamaw dr to surfside. not sure about surfside pier, but the pier at garden city is full of entertainment good food and drinks, and fishing if you choose. thanks for posting
Yes, very nice area. SSB Pier just has fishing for now - that I know of. Drinks may be involved later, but someone said they weren't planning on bands / karaoke / or things like that. Not sure if that will change, but it would be nice if they would offer what GC has.

We were in Myrtle Beach last week. Came down on Tuesday and left Thursday. Enjoyed our ground floor room at Bar Harbor
At least you could get to your room faster. lol. The higher floors have great views, but if the elevator is broken, then you have to work out. lol Hope you had a great time while here.
@@BeachinwiththeBoones my back and knees won't let me. Sciatica don't help any . A workout for sure.lol. We enjoyed it
My hubby has heart/ blood pressure problems and 4 stents in his heart. He had quadruple bypass in November of 2004 so he has to be careful. Plus blockages going to his leg.. last check it was not over 50%.
Oh my. Then you two really needed that break and a good rest. Hope the ocean is great therapy for you both. Stay in the best place you can to enjoy all of it.
@@BeachinwiththeBoones for sure. Spent time with our friend Betty. Me, her and my daughter hit up (shopped at)a few beach wear shops using the monster books. Guess I will try to avoid downtown Pageland starting tomorrow and Saturday. The watermelon festival starts. That time of year again. But hey, I love a good juicy watermelon 🍉

You must have been a little farther north. Next time, if you get a chance to get to the south end (Surfside, Garden City, and Murrells Inlet) one day, they offer some great views, restaurants, and activities too. Assuming you've never been. If you have, then you already know. lol. Thanks for watching.
Yes we stayed in surfside but didn’t make it to garden city end . Loved all the places to eat in surfside and kids love both ice cream spots!!
Gosh, looks deserted! Unlike Surfside/Garden City normally on a Thursday! Is the heat keeping the normal crowds away?
It was super hot that day. I think everyone was in the ocean or at a pool. lol but when we got back to Hwy 17, it was packed.
