Eye Candy.👍🏻With Tamiya, one needs to buy two of each model. One for shelf queen and gentle running with maybe ball bearings. The other hop up to the hill even with Ti screws and see how much better can do. Kind of like a regular aspiration Porsche or Civic to a Turbo S or Type R.
@@RCACTIONAUSTRALIA I'm now subscribe in your channel, I'll hope you post about Vanquish/VQS upgrade, thanks and Godspeed¡! -Adrian- Manila, Philippines
Thank you 😊 Yes it does sit a little high, I think it’s the Larger rims. The car also has no electronics etc in it either. I would like to drop another 2mm spacers into the Shocks in the future
Very nice. They all go on super easy. Direct replacement for all the original parts. If I can give you a heads up.. I built the Shocks as per the VQS specs. I wouldn’t hesitate to add another 1-2mm slaver to shorten them a little more .
Hi Adam love the trf look that you achieved I did all the same upgrades as you but went slightly further by replacing the top screw pins too as I found that they had cracked again after having already been restored
Hi I'm wondering about the 12mm adapter upgrade, that you talk about in the video. I will like to upgrade my car that way so I have more options on wheels. Thanks in advance from Denmark 👍 Great channel 👍😀
@@RCACTIONAUSTRALIA thanks for your reply. I have another question regarding this, and are you charging the spinners, and what offset are you recommending? Brgds Peter
@@RCACTIONAUSTRALIA thanks for your reply Adam What I meant was the joint between wheel and aksel, but I solved it by putting a 12/4 mm hex on and now there's a lot more options. Thanks again 👍
The buggy turned out great , I couldn’t tell it was a Terra Scorcher when I first looked at it . I wish Tamiya would upgrade there NIB buggies with hi cap dampers and some more carbon and aluminum parts . I know it’s cost prohibitive like the bearings but some people would splurge on it .
Yes it give the Terra a Fresh Race look. I definitely Agree Tamiya could improve the Specs on some areas, especially bearings. Kyosho kits a beautiful with More alloy but you do pay a premium.
I've just been thinking about a Terra scorcher for my 2nd car, just done a JPS inspired Sand scorcher. Was already eyeing up those alloy parts on rcmart lol, glad to see you've used them and recommend :)
Hi Adam, I have install the same dampers in my terra but I dont get the full travel on the front end, have you done anything to yours to solve it? thanks mate. great content!
Yes they are. I purchased them to use on this. I honestly wouldn’t use them.. they look nice but are super springy and offer little damping. Possibly an oil change may improve them. They are also super long for the terra.
I like it Adam, nice work on the paint job. You’ll be getting yourself a hobby airbrush set up next 😉 Nice set of upgrades as well. Hoping another VQS hicaps run is done by Tamiya as folks bought them up quick and are selling at inflated prices.
Thank you 😊 Air brush one day! Yeah I picked up afew sets on hi caps before the VQS kit was out. Hopefully we should see more given the Fire dragon is being released soon 🤩
That looks very nice Adam and the metal parts look great as they don't stand out but complement the chassis overall look, You have done a very nice job on the body shell with the TRF style, it sits a bit high so some adjustments need to be made to give it a better looking/lower stance, I love the TERRA SCORCHER it was my 1st Tamiya car back in the 80's.
I swap the cars around from time to time 😎 I’m changing the wall and adding more hooks very soon as I have so many cars you can’t see! I’ll swap the Big Wig Around for the next day of Filming. The Striker is a beautiful restoration by the way.
@@RCACTIONAUSTRALIA I can't help it when it comes to that car, it was a period in Tamiya history I want to forget, plastics were so bad and the designs were so bad, plastic drive shafts become a thing because of the Striker and the Falcon. Gives me shivers 😆 Great content though bud.
Looks great, I have looked at those Xtra Speed parts before and wondered about doing a similar build. Can’t wait to hear how it runs with all the changes. Well done.
I’ve got a nib manta ray that I’m converting to a Dirt Thrasher with afew Upgrades 😎👌🏻 Coning sometime this year! It’s in my pile of too many kits and projects purchased storage!

Stock terra mount but put on in reverse

I’m not sure of the offset, but DF03 wheels or the regular start dish, or VQS wheels all work well. What do you mean by charging the spinners?

I think from memory I had to put spacers inside the shock until I was happy.
@@RCACTIONAUSTRALIA thank you!
The blue dampers on your table, are they Xtra Speed Aluminium ones? I've been looking at them on RCMart and wondered if they were any good?
