Ancelotti is the best thing to happen for Everton in over a decade, even down to something as simple as James. James would never have joined if Ancelotti wasn't here, and we would not be even considered a europe threat without James. Since James joined, players like Isco and Rakitic have been linked with Everton, and yes its only rumours. But whens the last time we had rumours of some of the most well rounded successful players in World football being linked with us, we skip Rooney because he was washed by the time he joined us. There ain't been much. Richarlson and DCL have become stars, everyone knows them now. They are not interesting young talent, they are just talent. And I could continue naming players that have come of form or reunited like Sigurdson. Just get a new Goalie, maybe one of the "stars" of the PL this season, that would like to move up to challenging European football. Like Martinez from Aston Villa (that would be hilarious if he was in Europe while Arsenal are 10th) or Meslier from Leeds, he is their starting GK from what I know, and he is like 20.

@@richard35791 I agree with you, he hasn't been as crucial as some ex Everton players, yet, I have high hopes.
But that doesn't remove the fact, can you deny that without James we would not be beating Liverpool or challenging for Europe.
My overall point was that, any other manager. James wouldn't have joined us. He wouldn't have joined any of the clubs around us (maybe excluding Liverpool considering they where ultimately Champions last season). The reason he joined us and not any other club in Europe, he could have gone almost anywhere truthfully. Was because of Ancelotti.
You lot should get Nick Pope or Dean Henderson I think.
But I would also say you need a right back (preferably Max Aarons) and then imo also a right winger and another midfield player. Ismalia Sarr and Ryan Gravenberch could be the two there IMO. Maybe a top CB as all of yours have been inconsistent - one to partner Godfrey aswell as maybe even another midfield player. Also wouldn't hurt to get a CAM if Siggurdson goes and you could get Goncalves from Sporting who I'm sure would sign for you
Pickford proved himself in the derby that he can be a top keeper, he just needs to keep his concentration and confidence, under ancelotti and his staff I believe it will be sorted by next season, there also aren’t many keepers out there who can send a long ball with both feet right where they want it to go to which is really influential with dcl upfront
I kept telling people, esp LFC fans to look out for Everton. Ancelotti has won everything there is in club football. All he needed was time and a team willing to do anything he says.Would definitely love to see them 4th this season.

Ancelotti is one of the greatest managers there has ever been. His record speaks for itself so for Everton to get him is seriously an absolute coup for the club. I genuinely really think that's what they have needed for so many years, a manager that has been there and done it and can then take them to the next level with his expertise and years of experience.
Never thought Everton would be able to pull a manager like Ancelotti, but I'm glad they could, and I'm glad Big Dunc's still the assistant.

Have to be fair, Everton pulled off a right coup getting Ancelotti. He's a brilliant manager. Longer term I don't know. Being honest, when Arsenal and Everton were announcing new managers and the names were Arteta and Ancelotti, I thought they were going to opposite teams - and it kinda made sense to me thinking that. Getting it the opposite way around was tremendous for Everton, but Arsenal, I still don't know what they're doing. Let's ask an average supporter with no experience. Alex Scott maybe.

As an Everton fan and I must not be biased, I think we have a better squad now and we will get better over time but no one can deny that what Leicester have done is tremendous they deserve to be in that top 4 and I think they will be for a while and I’m looking forward to the many more gruelling matches home and away against them to fight for those places
