Definitely need more interviews and punditry from goalkeepers with WC experience. Surely gotta be hands down the most high pressure, stressful role to play in all of football. With such an intense disparity between the quiet moments and the times when even the slightest mistake could mean another 4 years of waiting down the drain for your entire country, it's elite levels of mental focus let alone ability.

Crazy thing is I actually remember being happy to see his name on the game sheet that day and I really wanted him to do well against the states. That mistake definitely didn’t represent who Rob was as a keeper but I also appreciate his perspective on the keepers on England by saying the were naturally more talented than him because they were. I think Capello picked him because he was the most level headed between the three of them and was still a very decent keeper/athlete. Was an intriguing video.

As an American premier league and USMNT fan personally the biggest issue as of why England didn’t do so well in the 2010 World Cup outside finishing second to the Americans, the media pressure played a massive role. When the tabloids are saying *EASY* (England, Algeria, Slovenia, Yanks) that puts a ton of pressure which leaks into the field of play, thus why it led to an early exit. As for Rob Green he’s a great guy, it sucks that one moment can turn you into a National villain of sorts.

@@thegreenbikerider6189 I’ve done similar. Saved a header from point blank range but I didn’t know until the game finished like 10 mins later. This was like 3 years ago, pinky is still crooked
