Yes. It’s the same team as last year…except a more experienced manager. They didn’t make a strong effort to improve mid-relief or closer.

@@aduncaroo I agree , he may well be the answer , then again he may not be, it might be a year or two before we know . But what about now ? Now is when we need productive ballplayers and there is nothing in their system right now that can make a difference on this team , although I believe Owen Cassie should get a look in the second half , he out played PCA and most of the veterans in the spring and I thought he was ahead of PCA in Iowa also . This team doesn't have any real stars and especially no superstar . They need to use some of their assets to help bring in some difference makers and maybe even that superstar and Ricketts needs to stop worrying about the luxury tax and go for the gusto , he owes it to the fans . He blew a lot of money on a no hit shortstop, and a manager we didn't need . Gold gloves are nice but productive hitters are the ones that should get the big money . Hoyer never made a play for Bryce Harper , Juan Soto Mookie Betts or any number of real star players that were available over the last couple of years , instead we've been fed this prospect BS which has amounted to zero playoffs and zero credibility . What we're left with is a bunch of streaky hitters , very little slug and a terrible lousey bullpen that has stunk up every ballpark they've been to . I don't think any farm system can fix all of this crap .

Who else would you blame other than Hoyer , he's the worst team president in the league ! And Counsell hasn't impressed anyone either . Milwaukee doesn't seem to miss him do they . Look where Hoyer's spending Ricketts money , big money on a shortstop they didn't need and now record money for a manager who hasn't made a bit of difference. They didn't need a new manager they needed MLB talent , bullpen , slugging , speed not these strikeout machines like Amaya ,Swanson and Happ. Their overrated prospects aren't going to ride in and save the Cubs , real proven MLB talent is what will . Use some of that farm system to bring some of that talent to this team . Do the Cubs have to be a small market team just because the rest of the division is ?

@@robertjenkins9636 Actually Morels K's are down and his walk rates up and Wisdom doesn't get enough playing time to improve his numbers , and those two ain't making anywhere near what Swanson and Happ are .
