You could go in & ask what day they break them down & go that morning before they do that & pick the ones you want. I did that when I use to sell @ eBay. Dollar Tree has those fold out foam boards, and that packing tape- may save someone a little bit
For shipping, once you package the item and tape the shipping label on it, can you just drop it in one of those blue mailboxes that they have located around the city? Or do you actually have to go into a post office and have them ship it out?

Hi I have been selling on Mercari for 3 months. Yes I did start selling a few things I had but didn’t want. My tip to you and other sellers. If you have a rewards credit card that offers Amazon points. Example I have the Amazon Credit Card and a Capital One Card. Use it for all your purchases to build up rewards points. Then use those points to pay for your shipping supplies. Also I have found shipping fees on Mercari to be cheaper than Pirate Ship. On another note on shipping. I stared out offering free shipping. But rarely got sales. Then I lowered my prices due to no longer free shipping and I got sales. Go figure. What I did learn is why most sellers don’t offer free shipping is we pay less in fees. Still the same percentage.
Sandra very good video but the only thing is you said to leave the size of box blank as Mercari says it is optional. That is very misleading on Mercari's part. Shipping carriers use dimensional weight on oversize box. As an example I was selling a doll with box. and shipping was $9.99 if I only put in weight but when I put in size of box the shipping was $30.00. I messaged Mercari and asked them about it and they told me I needed to fill out the measurements also. Optional is only if the box is small and you know it is not oversize. I messaged Mercari back and told them this was confusing sellers by saying optional. If the shipping carrier catches it the extra shipping will be charged to your account.
Hi I have a question about the shipping process. Do I need a special kind of paper to tape it to the bag or can I just print the label on regular paper from a normal printer and tape it to the bag to sell? I'm sorry if that didn't make sense...thank you for your help!
Actually i was using just plain paper for a while but then i realized after buying paper and tape that it is actually cheaper and time efficient to just buy a dymo label printer. You can save tons of money with it. Amazon has them at 50.00 or 60.00 and they usually come with starter print rolls of the labels for you. I have a huge box of rolls of shipping labels for like 30.00 and its lasted me several years so my dymo label printer and the rolls of labels saved me tons money within a month. Depends on how often you ship items out of course. Just wanted to share this. Thanks.

I was about to tip my first sale but USPS told me it was over weight. And they said that they can still use that label but will charge the additional money. Do they charge the buyer. I hope they don’t but not sure if Mercari just deducts from my earning.

I started selling on mercari in December. I'm selling my sister's collectibles. I've sold 2 barbies which is more than I did on my Facebook page in 2 years. I have just added some 1928 collection earrings and was wondering what you would ship these in? I was thinking of the padded mailers and wrapping them with bubble wrap but I've also got some small boxes I've ordered that are bigger than the earrings so I can use them if needed for something else. Question: Mercari charges the customer for shipping on my behalf. Because I sell comic books and I do require that the customer pays for the shipping. Now, when I go to the UPS store and show them the QR CODE on my phone and they print out a label , is this label PRE- PAID ?

Do not use Mercari my first two orders and got burned both times. I purchased a lens for $350 they are claiming it was delivered and it was not. Now I am having an impossible time getting my money back. Don't get burned like I did.

Thank you, Sandra for all of the information. I have a lot of nice ceramics and knick knacks, that were my mothers, that I want to sell. Some of them are heavy. Since I am new, I want to have it set up so that I take the product to UPS, have them print the label and pack and send things for me. How do I make this happen, and does it cost a lot more to do it this way?
@@SandraTheMomBoss thanks for replying Sondra. When you showed where you entered the weight, that was just for the product or did it include packaging, because I won't know how much the packaging will be.
